Today the gang were at Ogi City, heading for the port. They wanted to know when the next ferry for Red Rock Isle is, the location of the Whirl Cup. The bad news was the ferry only travelled to Red Rock Isle once a day and the gang had already missed it.
Ember groaned, "Once a day..."
"We're stuck here until tomorrow." Brock said.
Misty sighed, "What shall we do now?"
The gang all sat down, thinking of what to do.
"We could see if a Pokémon Centre is nearby." Brock suggested.
"Rai." Tesla said.
"Hello there." A woman voice greeted the gang and Misty.
"Huh?" The gang looked up.
"It looks like you guys missed the ferry to Red Rock Isle."
Brock instantly stood up, "Y-Yes!"
"Now we have to wait a full day until the next one comes." Ember said.
Brock suddenly appeared right in front of the woman, "Hi, I'm Brock and I'm a Pokémon breeder. What is your lovely name, beautiful lady?"
The woman blinked in confusion and then smiled, "I'm Luka Kasahara. I think that's interesting because I'm studying the Pokémon that inhabit these waters."
"I can help you with your research, Luka." Brock offered.
At that moment, Misty grabbed Brock's ear.
"Ow! Not the ear!" Brock yelped.
"Easy Professor. You still have a lot to learn." Misty dragged him away.
"Togephrii!" Togepi chirped.
"Well I'm Ember and this is Tesla." Ember introduced herself.
"Raichu!" Tesla greeted.
"And Misty is the one who pulled Brock away." Ember added.
"Pleasure to meet you all. If you want to go to Red Rock Isle, I can take you there." Luka offered.
"Really? That would be great." Ember smiled.
"Its no problem. Its on the way." Luka assured her.
Brock was back in front of Luka and held her hands, "I knew when I first set eyes on you, you would save us all!"
Ember and Misty sighed as they shook their heads.
Soon Luka was giving the gang a ride on her boat. The gang realized that Luka had a lot of diving equipment with her.
"Oh wow, look at this driving gear." Brock said, impressed. "Its a device that allows you to communicate under water."
"She has a lot of equipment." Misty said.
"Luka must be a Marine Archaeologist." Brock commented.
Ember went up to Luka at the helm to ask some her questions, when she noticed a photo of a map beside her on the right.
"Hey Luka, what's this?" She asked her.
"Looks like an old sea map." Brock said, "Hey look, there is some kind of mark here."
"I bet I know... It's a treasure map." Misty said.
"Toge Toge." Togepi said.
"Well, you're not to far off." Luka commented.
"Huh!" Brock and Misty said, shocked.
Ember blinked.
"You mean real treasure like gold, silver and diamonds?" Brock started.
"Pearls and other beautiful things." Misty finished.
"No." Luka declined all of those, "But its very valuable. Least to me it is." She looked at a picture of a man.
"Who's that?" Ember asked.
"That's my great great-grandfather." Luka replied.
"For three generations my family has explored these seas researching all its Water Pokémon and it all started with my great grandfather." Luka started her story, "One day I was cleaning out the attic, I discovered his secret journal and this map was hidden inside. In the journal, he wrote after twenty long year of combing the ocean floor, he has finally required the actual Silver Wing."
"The Silver Wing!" Brock and Misty exclaimed, shocked.
"He actually found a Silver Wing?" Ember asked.
"Yes, do you know about it?" Luka asked.
"Actually we do." Misty started.
"Ember has a Silver Wing herself." Brock said.
Ember sighed, she really didn't like to show the Silver Wing but if Luka's great great-grandfather has require a Silver Wing and she knows about it. She took the locket that is beside the gold locket and she opened it, revealing a beautiful Silver Wing.
Luka gasped, when she saw the wing, "T-that's a S-Silver Wing. How on earth did you get it?" She had to ask.
"Stop the boat and I'll show you." Ember requested.
Luka nodded and she stopped the boat, they were nowhere near Red Rock Isle, but far away from Yellow Rock Isle.
Ember brought out a Pokéball and released Poseidon. He had grown up more and could really fly and swim by now. Luka couldn't believe her eyes and was nearly speechless.
"How on earth did you get yourself a Lugia?" she asked.
Ember and Misty explained to Luka about the Lugia they met in the Orange Islands and about how the Lugia gave Ember's Lugia to her as a gift when it was a baby.
"Wow that's amazing. You guys are really lucky to have a Lugia on your team. But how did you get a Silver Wing?" Luka questioned.
"I'll explain that." Ember started, "It happened the other day on Blue Rock Isle. We had just heard about the Whirl Cup and Misty and I decided to train our water Pokémon for a bit because we're competing in it".
"Yes we trained at a town called Blue Lagoon for a while." Misty added.
"I was training Poseidon in the water then, and he had just learned the moves "Whirlpool" and "Hydro Pump"," Ember continued, "and it was at that moment, just as Poseidon was stretching his wings, a silver feather came off him and he gave it to me as a token of our friendship. I realized that it was a Silver Wing, a feather of Lugia, because Morty told me about it when I last saw him in Ecruteak City, and I've kept it in my silver locket ever since."
Luka nodded, she ain't going to push it more. "But it's really shocking that a Silver Wing is from a Lugia." She said.
"Auuu~" Poseidon swam with the other Water Pokémon.
"What happened to your great great-grandfather's Silver Wing, Luka?" Brock asked.
"He was returning from the driving exhibition when his ship 'The I.S.S Raspberry' was caught in a whirlpool and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Fortunately, everyone onboard survived but the Silver Wing went down with the ship and he told everyone about, but, no one believe him. According to his journal it was very upsetting him, the only way to convince people is to locate the sunken ship and recover the Silver Wing but all these missions ended in failure." Luka explained, sadly at the last part, it was an upset to her great great-grandfather, "Now, it's my job to find the reckoning ship and clear my grandfather's name. Base on this map and some calculation on the morning tide, I pin pointed the exact location of the Silver Wing."
"The location is where the X is on the map." Ember said, looking at the map.
"Right. Between my great great-grandfather's map and my computer I was able to solve an old age mystery." Luka responded.
"Oh wow! Luka let us join you!" Brock said, enthusiastically.
Luka blinked, "Huh?"
"Please! It's been my lifelong dream to search for buried treasure!" Brock declared.
"Since when?" Misty asked, nervously.
"Luka, if you don't mind, we really would like to join you on helping you find your great great-grandfather's Silver Wing. It's means a lot to you both." Ember stated.
"Yeah." Brock said.
"We love to help." Misty added.
"Raichu!" Tesla smiled.
Luka was touched by this, "Alright." She smiled, agreeing, "Let's set sail." Luka said, as she started up the boat once again.
"Poseidon, return." Ember said, she knows it time for the young diving Pokémon to rest.
Poseidon nodded, before he was recalled back into his Pokéball.
Luka drove the boat to the location of the sunken I.S.S Raspberry ship.
"We're getting close." Luka told the others.
"That's great." Brock said.
Luka stopped the boat at the location. "It's around here." She said.
Next, both Luka and Ember got into some of Luka's driving and they were ready.
"Okay, Magikarp lets do it." Luka sent out three of her fish Pokémon.
"Karp Karp Magikarp." All three said, landing in the ocean.
"Rory, come on out!" Ember let out her Atrocious Pokémon.
Brock, Misty, and the Pokémon's stayed on the boat to keep an eye watch.
"Good luck." Misty said.
"Be careful." Brock said.
"Of course." Ember nodded.
Ember and Luka jumped into the ocean.
"All set?" Luka asked as she held onto one of her Magikarp top crown.
"Yep." Ember replied, holding onto Rory.
"Let's move." Luka said.
Once Luka said that, the Magikarp's and Rory with Luka and Ember dove into the ocean.
"Oh wow." Ember awed, at the sight in front of her.
Luka, Ember, Rory and the Magikarp's continued to swim.
"Hey Ember, how is it looking down there?" Brock asked, talking through the communication device.
["It's really amazing. It's beautiful at some point too."] Ember replied, "[Oh!"]
"Huh?"
What Luka and Ember saw a sunken ship.
"Look at that, Luka." Ember said.
"It's the ship follow me." Luka said.
"Right." Ember followed, she thought she saw something.
Both Luka and Ember stopped near the rocks, hiding behind some.
"Magikarp, go and take a look." Luka ordered.
"Magikarp Magikarp Karp Karp Karp." Three Magikarp swam towards the sunken I.S.S Raspberry ship.
As the Magikarp's got closer a shadow of a Pokémon appeared from behind the ship and the shadow revealed itself to be a Mantine.
"Mannnnn!" It said, swimming.
"It's a Mantine." Ember said.
"Did you say Mantine?" Brock questioned.
Misty went over to Ember's clothes and took out her Rotom phone.
[Mantine, the Kite Pokémon. The evolved form of Mantyke. Mantine swims about the ocean majestically, and may fly out of the water if it builds up enough speed.]
"Mannn!" It said.
"Magikarp Magikarp!" The Magikarp's quickly away, quickly, panicking.
"Mannn." Mantine swam back to the sunken ship seeing the Magikarp away from the ship.
"It's okay." Luka assured her Magikarp's, gently as they panicked and then they calm down, "The Mantine seems to be guarding the sunken ship. I'm afraid if we get any closer it's bound to interfere."
"I actually got an idea." Ember spoke up.
"What is it?" Luka asked.
"It's something very crazy." Ember said and turned to Rory, "Rory, stay hidden for now. Be on the look out for Team Rocket. If they do show up, you know what to do."
Rory nodded and swam towards a nearby rock to hide.
"Team Rocket? Who's Team Rocket?" Luka asked.
"They're a group of criminals who steal Pokémon and use them for their own evil deeds." Ember replied.
Luka gasped, "How horrible. But why would they get involved with my great grandpa's treasure?"
"To make a quick buck and be famous." Ember responded.
"I see." Luka understood.
Suddenly Ember swam past Luka and went over to the sunken ship. The Mantine noticed Ember and started swimming towards her.
"Ember!" Luka called out.
At that moment, Ember closed her eyes and hummed Oración. Mantine slowly swam up to Ember. When Ember opened her eyes, she noticed Mantine was right in front of her, showing no sign of aggression.
"Mann? Mantine? (Who are you? What are you doing here?)" Mantine questioned.
"We're here to look for a chest that's in that ship over there." Ember answered, pointing at the ship.
"Mannt? (A chest?)" Mantine asked, curious.
Ember nodded, "Yes, it belongs to my friend Luka. She's been searching for it for awhile."
"Mann Mann Mantine? (You're not here to harm the young ones?)" Mantine questioned.
Ember shook her head, "No, we're just here for the chest. That's it." She confirmed.
Mantine looked towards Ember and Luka. Then turned to Ember, "Mantine, Mann Mantine. (Alright, I'll lead you to the chest.)"
"Thank you." Ember said.
Ember gestured to Luka and the Magikarp to come toward her. Luka nodded and then she and her three Magikarp's swam to Ember.
"Mantine. (Follow me then.)" Mantine said.
Ember nodded and held onto the second Magikarp as Luka held onto the first one. Mantine turned around and swam to the ship with Ember, Luka, and the third Magikarp behind it.
Luka and Ember followed Mantine to the ship. Ember was fascinated by how old the ship was. Suddenly two Remoraid showed up. A male and female.
"Rem, Remoraid? (Mantine, what are these humans doing here?" The female Remoraid asked.
"Mann. Mann Mantine Mantine Mann. (It's alright. They're not here to harm anyone. They're just looking for a chest.)" Mantine replied.
"Remoraid? (A chest?)" The male Remoraid asked.
Mantine nodded, "Mantine, Mann Mann Mantine Mann. (Yes, one of these humans has been meaning to find it.)"
The two Remoraid turned to each other and turned back to Ember and Luka.
"Rem Remoraid? (What does the chest look like?)" The male Remoraid asked.
"What did Remoraid say?" Luka asked.
"They asked what the chest looked like." Ember replied.
"Oh, it's small and has a crescent moon and a star on it." Luka described as she gestured how big it was.
"Remoraid Rem. (I think I saw something like that.)"
"Really?" Ember asked.
The Remoraid nodded, "Remoraid. (Follow us.)"
Luka and Ember followed the two Remoraid inside while Mantine stayed outside.
Luka and Ember followed the two Remoraid inside the ship, swimming through the hallways. Then they came to a huge crack in the wall.
"Remoraid. (Through here.)" The male Remoraid said before going through the crack.
Ember went in first, followed by Luka. When they went in, they were surprised by the swarm of Baby Remoraid's swimming around the room.
"Is this your nest?" Luka asked.
The two Remoraid's nodded.
Then the female Remoraid went over to the babies and gently nudged them out of the way. When all the baby Remoraid were out of the way, Luka spotted a small wooden chest.
Luka gasped, "The chest!" She went over and picked up the chest.
"That's the chest? Are you sure, Luka?" Ember questioned.
Luka nodded, "I'm sure."
Ember turned to the two Remoraid's, "Thank you for helping us find the chest, Remoraid."
"I thank you as well, Remoraid." Luka thanked the two.
The Remoraid smiled.
Suddenly they heard noise nearby.
"What was that?" Luka asked.
"It's coming from outside. I'll go take a look. You stay here." Ember said.
Luka nodded, "Okay."
Ember swam out of the crack and noticed another crack in a wall in front of her. She went towards the crack and looked through it. She saw Rory bashing Team Rocket's Magikarp submarine around with his tail and Mantine helping him.
"Ugh, Team Rocket." Ember groaned, "Rory, use Hyper Beam!" She called out.
Rory summoned an orb of orange colored energy in front of his mouth and it burst towards Team Rocket's sub, slamming against it, and sent it flying to the surface and into the air.
"That twerp foils our plans once again!" Jessie snapped.
"We didn't get to see that treasure." James whined.
"Should've expected that the twerp would stop us." Meowth complained.
"Wobbuffet!" Wobbuffet saluted.
The trio sighed.
"TEAM ROCKET'S SPLASHING OFF AGAIN!" They screamed before they disappeared into the sky.
"WOBBAAA!" Wobbuffet added.
"Thanks for helping us, Mantine, Remoraid." Ember thanked the water Pokémon.
"Yes, thank you." Luka added.
Mantine and the two Remoraid's nodded with smiles on their faces.
"Mann. (And thank you for protecting us from that group of villains.)" Mantine thanked Ember.
Ember smiled, "You're welcome."
"Well, we better get going." Luka said.
"Right." Ember agreed.
The two held onto Rory and he started swimming away and Ember waved goodbye to the Mantine and two Remoraid's who waved back and went back into the ship.
Once Ember, Luka and Misty got back to the boat, Luka told them about the baby Remoraid's there.
"It's no wonder that the Remoraid's and Mantine didn't want us near the ship. It's natural for Pokémon to be protective of their young ones." Ember commented.
"They feared that we would hurt the baby Remoraid's." Misty added.
"The Remoraid's helps the Mantine and return the Mantine helps protect the two adult Remoraid's family." Brock said.
"Ah well, we found what we were looking for." Luka smiled, as she held the treasure chest on her lap, "So now we can leave them alone in peace."
Luka opened up the treasure chest and inside was another wooden box, that didn't look old or damage at all. She opened up the second wooden box and inside was the beautiful Silver Wing, she picked it up and admired it, "I finally found it and now I can prove about my great great-grandfather's story being true." She declared, "And with this Silver Wing, I can prove it that it is indeed a feather of the Legendary Pokémon, Lugia."
Just then Ember remembered about when she and the gang saw a shadow of Lugia near Blue Point Isle.
"Hey Luka." Ember said and told her about when they saw Lugia here in the Whirl Islands.
"That's interesting, if Lugia is living somewhere in the Whirl Islands, then I would use my Silver Wing to find out for sure." Luka said.
Ember smiled, "I'm sure you will. Actually I have a feeling that we'll all find out." She said, mysteriously.
"Raichu." Tesla nodded.
"I can't wait then." Luka smiled.
The next day arrived, Luka drove her boat to Red Rock Isle.
"Hey look!" Misty said.
"An island!" Brock added.
"That's Red Rock Isle." Luka told them.
"That where the Whirl Cup Competition is being held." Misty said, she was excited for it.
"Togepriii!" Togepi trilled happily.
"Yes. I can't wait." Ember said. "Here we come."
"Rai Raichu." Tesla said.
Having finally arrived at Red Rock Isle, Ember and Misty will now prepare for the Whirl Cup Competition.
