A few weeks had passed since Ainz saved Enri and Nemu from the Theocracy knights. Enri made good on her word and had begun her training with Cocytus, while also grinding her levels up with Ainz. She wasn't exactly sure what half the terms meant, but he seemed rather excited to be able to talk about job classes and ways to level up, so she didn't mind.

When her training began, she was given an item that re-spec'd her job classes. All she knew was how weird it felt, like she was a kid who didn't know anything. The feeling went away rather quickly as she began to learn how to fight, Cocytus was a rather gentle teacher despite his unfathomable strength.

As she grew stronger, Ainz began to ask what she'd want to do. He explained that there were many classes and each one required specific training and accomplishments to unlock. It was something she thought about for a while. Though eventually she described how she wanted to be a knight, one that inspired people and always went down the path of justice.

Of course she was thinking about Gazef Stronoff, but to her surprise she found out that choosing the paladin class would allow her to literally inspire people.

After that she began to go through a lot more varied types of training. While still learning combat from Cocytus, she now began to learn Paladin specific skills. Ironically she learned from Demiurge how to hold onto faith in a variety of different and terrifying scenarios. Faith was a very important tool for paladins, while usually it involves a higher being, faith can also come from oneself or a goal. It was the metaphorical switch that allowed a paladin to use their skills. All that's required in the game is to choose a god to get certain skills, but now any skill can be used as long as their faith stayed strong.

She was next taught by Sebas about his creator Touch-Me, a name she required all her faith not to laugh at. Touch-Me was the only paladin in the guild, but was one of the greatest fighters in the nine realms. Though her lessons were more about his sense of justice and his heroic deeds, to show the scope of what a true paladin is like. These were her favorite lessons.

The last set of lessons were all reading material, books from the library of Ashurbanipal. Enri was a bit scared of the librarian at first, but eventually came to quite like him. Titus was always very helpful when she was searching for books, especially since she needed magic books to learn the tier system, and they were hidden throughout the library. The books were simple at first, they were similar to the ones Nfirea had as they only discussed the first three tiers.

She found herself quickly excelling past the third tier and into the fourth tier, magic that few possessed. Though that was short-lived as well, now stuck in the confusing mess known as fifth tier. " Isn't Evileye supposed to be able to cast these?" Enri thought, looking through the spells. They're much more difficult to learn, but the effects really start to get devastating and useful. Though from what she was told by Ainz, these are where paladin spells actually become useful.

Despite all she has to learn, Enri didn't spend all day and night learning. She still ate meals and slept, along with watching over her younger sister. Nemu has had a much easier time in the tomb, Yuri Alpha seemed to be a natural mother figure, and the 'younger' Pleiades sisters enjoyed playing with Nemu. Of course it wasn't just play, both sisters were going to be functioning members in the tomb. So the play did involve exercise to prepare Nemu for when she began her training.

Not everyone was happy about this however, and more than once did Enri get a glare from Narberal, or a threat from Solution. There was a weird penguin too who yelled at her for ruining his plans to take over Nazarick, but CZ usually dealt with him.

The worst of it came from Shalltear, who often gave Enri a 'surprise reflex exam' in the form of punches and Lance stabs. This lessened considerably after a stray punch ended up hitting Demiurge, but that didn't keep her from being attentive at all times.

Surprisingly one of the few people she had become friends with was Lupusregina, she saved Enri from more than one awkward confrontation from the hostile maids. She also was one of the few people who knew how to be casual, making conversations easy with her. As an added bonus, they actually fought rather well together.

[Line Break]

Enri was called down to Ainz's office, though she was confused why he had one. Weren't beings like him supposed to have a big throne room or something?

As she got to the door, she noticed Lupusregina was there as well. "Oh hey Lupu, were you called here as well?" Enri asked

Lupusregina turned towards the voice and gave a big smile. "Yep, I'm not sure what he needs, but if it involves you as well, I'm sure it will be fun, su~"

They two were called in a couple minutes later, the only other people in the room with Ainz being Albedo and one of the Homunculus maids. Enri noticed the Eight edged assassins as well, but only because she had gotten some anti stealth skills in case of Shalltear.

Enri and Lupusregina kneeled when they entered, Ainz clearing his throat before speaking. "Rise, there's no need for formalities during this meeting. I simply want to ask you both a question." The two stood up with slight confusion, but Ainz continued before they could say anything. "I had been wanting to learn more of the outside world as a lone adventurer, but Albedo had brought up some very interesting points to bring allies."

He then stood up, his visage changing from the divine magic caster to a tall and imposing knight. His armor black with gold on the edges, and an impressive crimson cape covering his pauldrons and two great swords on his back. He looks directly at the two girls. "Would you like to join the adventurer Momon and protect the citizens of E-Rantel in a few weeks time?"

The two just looked at him in silence. Lupusregina was slowly getting more and more excited, Enri however was just confused. As the battle maid excitedly agreed, practically bouncing on the walls. The poor peasant now paladin could only ask a simple "What?"

/Author Notes/

First Intermission, these will appear between volumes and add more to the story, though they aren't necessary, it's just extra detail for that bit of pizzazz… I also didn't want to work on the E-Rantel volume yet. Anyway, peace out people.
