"You fought in the Clone Wars?"

"Under the authority given to me by emergency powers, I hereby order the Jedi to lead the Kaminoan clone army against the Separatists."

"General Kenobi, I'm your commander, CC-2224."

"Do you have a name, Commander?"

"... It's Cody, sir."

Clone after clone fell around him, their unique Force signatures blinking out like dying stars. He felt each and every death, their cries as real as if he'd heard them.

"You may not be my Master, but I would love it if you would let me call you my Grandmaster."

"Of course, Ahsoka. I am honored to have you as my grandpadawan."

He crouched, reaching his hand out to lightly touch the scorched ground. They'd been too late.

"The more you try to help them, Jedi, the more they suffer."

He looked over the casualty report, still feeling the turmoil within Rex. One name in particular stood out on the list. Lt. Waker, KIA. He bowed his head, tears falling, unable to care.

"I'm sorry, Master, but I'm not coming back."

"Remember, my dear Obi-Wan. I loved you always. I always will…"

As one, he felt the minds of his men disappear. Taciturn yet soft-hearted Boil. Kind and empathetic Wooley. Brave, loyal, and oh-so-stubborn Cody.

"I hate you!"

"You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!"

"Yes," Obi-Wan Kenobi, former Jedi Grand Master and General of the Galactic Army of the Republic, answered the boy. "I was once a Jedi knight, the same as your father."
