Hello, I am LoaofLore, and I will be honest, this is my first time writing for this website. And in general, I am not sure if I am going to write anymore stories. But if I do, I can confidently say that this was my first.

Anyway, though this story is non-canon to the story Secrets & Lies, unless of course Moonview says otherwise but until then (though I am doubting that it will actually be the case that it will be canon, because I am not sure about my writing abilities at the moment) the story is non-canon, but the story takes place in the same universe as the story. And if this does well, I can see about adding some nods here and there from Moonview's story.

Though none of the major characters in Moonview's story will be in here…but if I am convinced well, then I could possibly add a cameo or something like that.

And as always which is the norm around stories like these, all respective franchises and characters belong to their respective owners, except for my OCs, no body can convince me to not lay claim to them. And now enjoy…...hopefully.

1000 years before the Collapse aka 1000 B.V. (Before Voltron)

Everything was normal in a what looked to be a lab of some sort, with the only exception to this being the fact that there was a dead shriveled up body on a table that people would usually find in a lab from which dissections and other tests were performed upon.

Then suddenly a vent was forcefully opened by something that looks like a small drone that was in a hexagonal like shell of some sort. The small drone then began floating towards the long dead body and after a few seconds it began scanning it as if it were looking for something, and once it was satisfied it spoke.

"Finally, I've found you. Though, I'll be honest. You don't look like anything that I saw outside…oh right, I am talking to a dead body right now. I better start the resurrection process before I start talking to inanimate objects.", said the small drone.

And after a few seconds, a light like substance was washing over the shriveled up dead body. And it began to look healthier, and looked more alive. It was as if it were never was dead in the first place. Then after a few seconds more, the small drone was done.

The body then began to stir to the point that it awoke. And when it did it felt strange as if it were waking up from a long dream, it then spoke while getting up and sitting on the end of the tables' ledge.

"…W-Where am I? Who am I?", said the odd-looking creature.

It then started looking and taking in its surroundings, though it paused after finding its line of sight upon the small drone. It then said I and the odd creature then immediately went into a panic and accidently fell on the floor. It then looked around to see if there were any exits so that it could run away from the strange whatever it was. Only to find a mirror and see its reflection to which in the went into a panic again and started backing away from the mirror, and covered its face with its arm to block what it thought was an attacking beast. Only to realize that it was looking at itself.

And after looking at his reflection again, he noticed a lot of things. For one it had what could be described as a bear-like snout which included a big nose, his mouth also had large fangs that were sticking out of his upper jaw, along with large pointed ears that could possibly mistake him for possibly an elf but the fact that they extended far beyond his head might not lead to that conclusion, and the fact that he is also covered in both fur, scales, and has a long almost reptilian tail; would essentially seal the deal.

The small drone then went towards the odd creature's face, and though the creature did seem a bit intimidated at first, he then decided to hear what it could possibly have to say.

"Sorry for surprising you so suddenly, but well, this is the first time that I have actually talked to anyone since the other six Ghosts were sent out to find some…...now that I think about it, I am honestly not sure why I was sent to find you or why the Traveler made me in the first place. Oh, I should probably tell you what I am. I am your Ghost, and we will be working together for a while, and by a while, I mean for the rest of your second life.", said the now designated Ghost.

Most would find it odd, for a small drone to say that it was your Ghost, but the creature didn't seem to flinch at that. In fact, it asked the Ghost a few questions.

"What's a traveler? And do you know my name or what I am?"

The Ghost then proceeded to respond with, "Oh great, you're going to be one of those kinds of people, aren't you?"

11,000 years later

There was a sense of déjà vu when looking at the situation, though instead of a dead body it was a newly resurrected body that took awhile until it finally woke up. Though when it did and lifted its torso up, it found itself in a bed. The individual in question then began feeling its way towards the ledges of the bed, for unlike last time, this one couldn't see. For it had no eyes, but then when it was feeling somewhat relaxed, a Ghost appeared in front of its face and said hi in a female voice. Which then startled the newly resurrected Lightbearer, and then lead it to falling on its back side quite hard after backing away from the direction of the sudden noise.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.", said the unknown Ghost.

"Why do I feel like I am watching the re-enactment of my first meeting with the person, whom I was chosen to be with.", said another Ghost, who made it apparent that there was someone else in the room.

"Oh, come on Dex, that can't actually be the case…right?", said the Ghost.

Dex then said, "There are somethings that you can never forget, even if you have been around for over 11,000 years."

While the two Ghosts were chatting, the new Lightbearer was trying to figure out what they were talking about, but then decided to see if it could find an exit. Which wasn't difficult for it heard a door opening and then decided to go into the direction of the noise despite its better judgement.

"If you think that you can leave after finding the exit, then I suggest that you rethink your strategy, kid.", said a new unknown male voice.

The Lightbearer though ignored the voice, and continued on, feeling its way to what it believed to be the exit of the room. Except once it got close to the door, it stopped for it was feeling what was most likely a foot. The Lightbearer then decided to get up while keeping its hands on the thing in front of it. It then thought that it could trick what it believed to be the person that was right in front of it, and knock them out. Though once it got to the chest area, it realized something. The person in front of it was much taller than it, and it had to reach up towards where it believed the person's face was, but then it noticed something odd again, the person's face felt like it was made of some type of metal. And when it tried to focus more on that fact while touching the person's "face", something happened that it didn't expect.

It was for a brief second that it could see itself for the first time, before it yelped and landed on its rear from the shock that it experienced. But what it saw, would definitely make it remember what it looks like. For somehow it was able to connect to the mind of the person in front of it, and could see through his eyes. And through those eyes, it saw a reptilian-like face with no eyes, but it did see that she had small ears on the top of her head. She also noticed that she had some purples in her skin tone, but she didn't actually think that any of it was important. Though now she knows why she wasn't able to open her eyes, it was because she didn't have any to begin with and the thought of it made her internally upset.

"So, you can only see by using your abilities. That is not good for a Gravewalker to have or at least not good to have while being blind.", said the male voice.

"You sure that it's bad that she is naturally blind, I mean, how many Guardians– ", the female sounding Ghost was then interrupted.

"Lightbearers!", said both Dex and the other person in the room.

"Isn't that what I just said?", whispered the still unknown Ghost. "Seriously though, is it really that bad? I am pretty sure that there are plenty of Lightbearers that are blind, naturally or otherwise."

"I have witnessed what happens to Lightbearers that have lost their sight. One, they either decide to just be a blind scholar who spends his eternity in a library. Two, they just spend the rest of their eternity as a hermit. Or three, they decide to go off and be a 'Guardian', only to be found dead in the next three days.", said the deep male voice, that now that the Lightbearer was listening to it, she felt like the voice had seen much in its life time as if it were a veteran of many battles, skirmishes, and/or wars. It made her wonder, what else has this individual seen and lived through.

She though did know one thing; this individual was now helping her up and placed her back onto the bed. "Do you remember anything before waking up, kid?"

She didn't feel like answering, but after a while, she essentially forced herself to. "N-no.", said the Lightbearer, who then quickly covered her mouth. She didn't know why, but she felt like the person that was in front of her was going to harm her for speaking.

But instead of that, the person said, "I'm not surprised. Most, if not all Gravewalkers, can't remember anything after the Awakening."

He then noticed that she was tensing up as if she was waiting for something, he then had an idea of what she was waiting for and stated.

"I'm not going to harm you, if you think that is what is going to happen. I'm a friend."

She didn't seem to think that cause she was still waiting. And thinking that it would be better, to let the young one be shown through the use of leaving her be, but before that he decided to ask one more question before he would leave.

"Do you remember your name?"

The silence that followed, was all that he needed to know that the young woman in front of him, didn't remember her name.

"Well, I can't call you, kid, all the time. So, either you can figure out for yourself a new name or I can give you one."

She started to lessen herself from tensing, but the ancient Lightbearer could tell that she is not ready to designate him as a friend. She did though raise her head towards his face, and he could tell that she had made her decision.

"All right then, I guess I will be the one giving you a name.", said the ancient Lightbearer, "From now on, your name is…Twilight."

With the mentioning of that name, Dex looked at his Lightbearer. While the newly named Twilight, and her Ghost might not know it, that name is something that is special to both Dex and the ancient Lightbearer. Though Twilight looked like she liked the name, though that was mostly because of her nodding in agreement.

"Alright then, I will…...I will leave you be for now. Just know that you are free to go through my ship, and if you need me then you can find me in the Bridge of the ship.", said the ancient Lightbearer as he left the room.

"How about I go to, after all, you two need to get to know each other, or at least be familiar with one another. Ok then, I will see you later or maybe not, that is all up to the both of you.", said Dex the Ghost, who then immediately floated after his Lightbearer. Leaving the Ghost and Twilight to themselves when the doors closed behind him.

Dex had been through a lot of things with his oldest friend, so he knew when something was going on in his head. And once he made it to the bridge of the ship, he saw that his friend had finished a call with one of the many people they know.

"She reminds you of her, doesn't she?", said Dex, who knew that his friend doesn't like to talk about his past, about their past. Though Dex had to admit that it might as well be better that everyone has forgotten about them, after all the things they did. They would be seen as wanted criminals in the Last City, even if they aided it from the shadows. Dex even doubts that they would be easily accepted around the Guardians as well, for many of the Guardians see themselves or at least the Lightborn, see themselves as Beacons of Hope, beings who embody the Light and therefore are heroes who stand against the enemies of the Last City and The Traveler.

His friend though, sees things differently, he sees Guardians as nothing more than a title without meaning, one in which children give to themselves in order to sound important to others. And if you had seen what he has scene, which is about 11,000 years of experience, then you would be able to understand that the lines between Light and Dark are oh so very thin.

"It was my fault on what happened to her. I should've kept her from- ", the old Lightbearer was then interrupted by Dex.

"We both know that is not true, it was her choice. Alicia always sought to be a hero, and she always sought to do more than just what we did. In fact, back at Twilight Gap it was her that convinced the both of us to participate in the defense of the Last City all those years ago."

His old friend then continued what Dex was going to say, "And then she thought it would be a good idea to essentially copy my thing and have people just call her Twilight, so that she can keep her real name hidden. *sigh* She was so upset that I told her to just stick with her old name, when she wanted to be like her dad. Even if I did adopt her."

"Well, at least she didn't want to be a grumpy old man. I don't think I could handle two X's.", said Dex jokingly.

The now named X laughed a bit at that, but then as quickly as those laughs went, he returned to his old demeanor and sat down at the controls of his ship saying, "This time, won't be like the last time. But for the moment, we need to keep moving. Otherwise, it will be too late."

Dex agreed to this, and went through the specially made Hallway that only Ghosts can travel through so as to keep an eye on their new guests. X on the other hand started putting in coordinates in the ship's computer and then had the ship set a course to a far-off location from the one they were currently in. After all, he had already gotten what he came here for, Twilight and her Ghost are just a bonus to their scavenge run. Though unlike what they had obtained from the destroyed cruiser, they were more willing to hold onto those two than the pieces of technology and scrap metal that they found salvageable. Though they were able to find something that a certain smuggler would find most valuable when it comes to oddities as well as what could be used to gain a bigger profit.

In some far-off corner of the Galra Empire's territory, a battle had been won, but it was not the victory of Voltron, or the Coalition. No, it was the victory of what was once known as the Blind Legion, but because of the Legions' failure and the death of their Primus, who died because of his obsession with Vex technology that led him into a conflict with Guardians who were sent to investigate the Vex Conflux. This Legion had different names depending on who you asked. Though whether you called them the Black Legion or if you asked a certain Exo, he would sarcastically call them the Skull or Bone Legion, seeing as they like to decorate their armor with skulls and bones. But the name that this Legion prefers to be known as is the one that Dominus Ghaul himself gave them: Deathbringers. Ghaul had been able to acquire whatever remnants of the Blind Legion were left and then gave them a new order and a new Primus, along with the name. They had gone back to Torobatl, the capital of the Cabal Empire, and from there they would increase their numbers to the point that they were worthy of the title of Legion.

For they would need them, their mission requires the numbers for it was quite ambitious, just as ambitious, as conquering the Last City, imprisoning the Traveler, and making the Guardians mere mortals once more. This mission, their goal, was to conquer and wipe out the Galra Empire from the face of the universe. Though that doesn't mean that they are purging just the Galra, in fact, they have been making wastelands of the planets that the Galra have either conquered, colonized, or turned into outposts. They have been striping them of all of the resources that are needed in the Galra's empire, though it makes one wonder, why have they not been considered a major threat that needs to be eradicated. Maybe it has to do with the strategies implemented by the Legion's Primus.

Speaking of which, on the bridge of the Deathbringers' flagship, there stood quite a tall and imposing figure who wore black armor with the skulls of large beasts decorating his shoulders, underneath these skulls though were his shoulder pads, but with the animal skulls on top of them, they added another layer of protection, so they were just as useful as being decorations as they were another layer of armor. Though what was probably more intimidating was the fact that he bore no symbol of his legion upon the usual places that one would find it, instead his helmet which he rarely takes off, is the symbol from which all could know which legion he was in command of. And he was currently looking at the site of the battle that had taken place there, but though no one could see it, he was glaring at the remains of one of the Galran cruisers. He was glaring for he had hoped the Empire that he was sent to crush, would prove to be more of a challenge, but instead all he got was Galra that only knew how to intimidate their foes and use strategies that have long since passed their prime. Not only that, but his glares were as much in disgust as they were in disappointment, for he had 10,000 ships under his command, if one does not count the fighters, and the Galra only sent a measly five to stop him from entering their territory. He felt like he was being insulted for being treated with such a humiliation.

Though he didn't need to remain on this train of thought, the doors to the bridge opened revealing a very tall Psion Flayer that proceeded to walk towards, the Primus of the Deathbringers. Though she stopped and knelt before him. The Primus didn't turn around to look upon his right-hand woman, for he was already aware of what had occurred. But still he decided to listen to the report anyway.

"Status report.", said the Primus of the Deathbringers with a voice that could almost be mistaken for Ghaul's, but it felt off as if this was the voice of someone else that sought only to bring death and destruction where ever he went.

"We are glad to report that there are no survivors, and our technicians have intercepted all communications, so as to prevent the Galra Empire from relaying information on our status. And as per your orders, we have sent a false message detailing the Galra's 'victory' in this system.", said the Psion flayer.

"Good. Now that this is settled, we can move on from here.", said the Primus, who had enough of this part of the Galra Empire and desired to find another challenger that is more worthy to face his Legion.

Though the Psion didn't move from her spot and hesitated, to say what she had learned as well, but saw to it that it would be spoken now.

"We also have received a message from the Red Legion, Primus Tha'naton. And we are sorry to report this to you, but Dominus Ghaul is dead."

This made Tha'naton turn around and when he did, he asked, "Dead? Who killed him, and is The Consul dead as well?"

"Ghaul was killed by the Guardians of the Last City. And as for The Consul, from what we could gather, he was killed by Ghaul before his death."

Tha'naton then began to pace from the right of the Bridge, he was pondering about the situation now that Ghaul was dead. Though his Psion Flayer Commander and advisor asked him, "Forgive us, for disturbing your thoughts, but we wish to ask if this changes things?"

"No, no this does not, Thalem. In fact, we will honor Ghaul's last orders to us. And once we are finished with the Galra, we will see to it that the Guardians pay in blood for what they have done!", said Primus Tha'naton, who was clenching his fist as he said the last part.

"There is more to report.", stated Thalem, Death's Triumvirate, who then looked up at her Primus, having a look in her single eye that indicated that this was just as important.

"What do you have for me?", a question that followed with the standing up of the Psion Flayer, who then gave her report on her findings.

"Our technicians have intercepted Galran transmissions not long after the destruction of the final cruiser that was sent to our location. And we have found that Emperor Zarkon has made his son, Lotor, public enemy number one within the Galra Empire. His generals are also wanted criminals for their affiliation to Lotor."

The information that was given to the Primus was interesting to say the least, though he wondered, "Is there anything else that I should be made aware of, Thalem?"

"We have also been made aware of the fact that Voltron has returned, and at the moment is causing as much trouble for the Galra as we are, though while we are more subtle, so as to not alert them until the right moment per your orders, they seem to be more interested into making themselves the…center of attention.", said Thalem, whose tone was more or less mocking Voltron for not understanding the element of surprise that can allow one to win the war before it fully began.

Tha'natons' response to the news was both shocking and in character with someone who actually knew what they were doing, "I care not what Zarkon does, so if he wishes to chase his whelp to the ends of the universe then so be it, by the time he returns to his throne, it will be too late for him to react to the situation quickly enough. Besides, his days are numbered either way. Voltron though on the other hand, may pose a problem to us and our mission. For while we share the same goal for now, they will not tolerate the results that have occurred from how we handle the conquered worlds of the Galra."

He was going to say his two cents on Lotor, but then an idea came to mind. One which could prove beneficial for the Cabal Empire, as well as, for Tha'naton's revenge against the Guardians for the death of Ghaul.

"Set a course for Daibazaal.", said Tha'naton, who then immediately returned his gaze to the once made battlefield against the Galran cruisers.

This made Thalem confused, which had her ask, "Why do you wish for the Legion to go to that planet, from what our technicians have gathered it is a dead world."

"Simple, I wish to speak to Prince Lotor…uhm, what do those Terrans say? Man to man or was it, Mano e mano? Either way, I believe that you understand what I am getting at.", this was followed by silence that led Tha'naton into knowing that he lost her at that.

"In other words, from what we know of Lotor, he is most likely heading there. And don't worry, once I have acquired what I need from him, he will join the rest of his kind, extinct or not, in mutual destruction along with his cohorts. Oh, and see to it that only one third of our forces along with my Flagship are going to the former Galran Homeworld. The rest will be under the command of Valus Rolk, until we rejoin them on our mission."

Now understanding what the Primus of the Deathbringers was getting at Thalem saluted, and then marched out of the room to alert Valus Rolk of the Primus's plan, and that one third of the Legion will be coming along The Reckoning in its journey to Daibazaal. As she was leaving, Tha'naton began ponder the possibilities of what he could learn from his conversation with Lotor.

"It appears that I will be continuing your research, old friend. And once I am done with your final orders, I will do what we should've done in the first place, when we learned of the location of the Traveler.", he said this as he began to clench his fists in rage. He had heard of what the fury of the Guardians was like, but he would show them the fury of one who has nothing left to lose, he would show them the fury of an empire, the fury of a friend.

Was that too much? It was probably too much wasn't it. I would just like to let everyone know that I am new at this sort of thing, for I am pretty sure that you have seen my name when it comes to the story of Overlord of Warcraft, I am just an editor and in a sense I am a co-writer, but I do not upload the chapters to that story, which is obvious in all honesty.

Anyway, thank you Moonview for allowing me to do this, I am still not sure if it is to your liking, but I am doing my best. Also don't worry, nothing is going to happen which could cause a problem to the current Timeline of your story (for I am treating it as if it were in the timeline of the story), but I had always felt like it would be interesting if Lotor encountered the Cabal, for they are somewhat similar to the Galra. I will see about making sure that I do my best in capturing that moment through my writing skills.

But anyway, I am not sure about my writing skills in general though, so let me know if you guys think that this is either good or bad as both an idea and in a sense of it being worth reading. Oh and just to let people know, I had thought about what could possibly be an antagonist or at least an antagonistic force, seeing as well, the Galra have already taken their spotlight in the original story, and at the moment their aren't as many antagonistic forces that can be implemented into said story, unless they were actually made up by the author, or in that case me, and seeing as in Destiny 2, the Red Legion is mostly taking the spot as Cabal antagonists, I thought it good to make use of the destruction of another previous Legion that was destroyed by our hands…that doesn't sound weird does it, after all we are somewhat allies to the Cabal Empire now.

But anyway, let me know what you think, leave suggestions in the comments for stuff that you possibly want to see, and give constructive criticism for me, so that I don't make the same mistakes twice. Also, seeing as this will most likely be the first chapter to this story that I am going to upload, I will need to give a warning that I am not sure about much when it comes to uploading new chapters to a story, not to mention, I am also working on other projects like some stuff for the story that I mentioned which is made by another author, whom I am currently helping. So, if you are a fan of either Overlord (the anime/manga) and/or Warcraft, then go check out Overlord of Warcraft, though I should warn you that not all of the current chapters have been edited, so essentially expect some misspellings or strange phrasing in Chapter 5 to Chapter 12, its not the authors' fault it is just that English isn't his first language, and I only started to help him at Chapter 13.

And let me know what you think and tell me if I should continue on this idea, cause next chapter is going to go into more details on the MC's past (through flashbacks obviously), plus a discussion will be made that will lead into a decision for, if you haven't guessed it by my description of her (which I don't blame you for it, I am not sure if I did it right), a newly resurrected Narti. And before anyone says anything, the Traveler doesn't actually differentiate between species that should become Guardians or Lightbearers in general, after all there were most likely those from the Eliksni that were their version of Guardians though not completely the same, plus the Ghosts are actually the ones that need to find the right person that is essentially their soulmate, and I thought that she needs to be explored a bit. For I think that she deserved better than what she got, cause I felt like killing her off and not having it be a major reason for what happened with Lotor's generals or that Acxa seemingly not regretting for still sticking to Lotor when he obviously killed one of her friends…co-workers, honestly I have no idea what she actually thought about the other generals, though she definitely had some issues and I guess that mostly has to do with her being a half-breed, though we never did actually understand what life was like for them, so I decided that the first chapter would give a hint to why Narti was actually mute the whole time instead of it being a type of reason where she was born mute.

Anyway, let me know in the comments, on what your thoughts are for this, and well, I am not sure when the next chapter will be made, cause as I said, I am also the editor of another story currently, plus, I don't have much experience with this website, other than putting in reviews, or sending PMs. Not only that but I am also still in my Senior year of Highschool. Oh, and I suggest reading the original story, Secrets & Lies, so as to let yourselves know what has happened and to let me know if I need to edit the chapters, that might be contradictory with what is currently in the story, Moonview is currently in the process of rewriting the chapters of that one, but still, go and read it and put in your own thoughts for it.

And with that said I will be seeing you, next time with chapter 2 for this story.
