Morning approached faster than I had anticipated. I was fairly sleep deprived after..remembering all of that.
"UGH!" My face was bright red and I couldn't help but feel embarrassed for the actions of that night. "I can't believe I did that!" I just wanted to be buried alive at this point.
"Lady Lucy?" Mira was here already?! My snowette friend entered my chambers with some kind of basket in her hands.
"Mira, what's all of this?" Mira smiled before responding with a good morning. Way to dodge the question. She placed the basket down on a spare desk in the room before digging around in it. I felt confused as she removed a simple blue dress from it. She then smirked towards me before approaching. I felt my nerves rise.
"M-Mira-" She giggled like a she-demon as she jumped at me. Before I knew it, I was being thrown around like a rag doll.
"Y-YOU DON'T NEED TO ATTACK ME! I WOULD'VE BEEN COOPERATIVE-" She cut me off with the tightening of the corset. I felt my insides become liquified. "M-Mira- why-"
"Honestly My Lady, why didn't you tell me you knocked down a bookshelf in the Royal Library?!" I paused in my suffering to gape up at Mira.
"T-The Bookshelf..?" She huffed in response before nodding. I bit my lip in embarrassment. "I...I asked you to remind me not to run into the booksh-" Mira cut me off with another tug at my corset. I winced out a pathetic wine.
"That's not telling me about the incident My Lady! Servant's reported scratch marks on the wood of the bookshelf to the King. Not to mention the appearance of some of the books. I only figured out you were responsible because of that bookshelf remark last night!" I felt myself shrink in size.
"I-I'm sorry.. I didn't mean too-" Mira sighed in response before loosening my corset.
"My Lady, you do realize the King has opened an investigation about this. Some of those books were gifts from neighboring kingdoms. Think about what could've happened if the ambassador's of those neighboring kingdoms saw the shape of those books."
"They started an investigation?" I felt my face pale in fear as Mira led me to the chair in front of my mirror. "Mira..am I in trouble?" The snowette merely tilted her head towards me before giggling. How could she be laughing at a time like this?!
"I'm sorry My Lady, I was only joking with you. I overheard Lady Levy talking about your bookcase scuffle and thought I should teach you to not be so clumsy. It's very unbecoming for a future Queen." I felt my face flush at that.
"M-Mira!" The snowette only laughed in response.
"You know My Lady, the prince said something interesting to me this morning...now what was it.." I looked up at Mira who was now pretending to remember something.
"Whatever it is Mira, I don't care. I don't know the prince and I want to see my brother today anyway." Mira huffed in response.
"You really think that? And after I went through all of that trouble to find out Prince Natsu summoned you specifically this morning for breakfast with him."
"Doesn't sound like you would have to go through too much trouble if he was summoning me. It would make sense that he would either have someone send for me or would have someone relay the information to you." Mira pouted at my response.
"Well if I knew you were just going to respond like this then I should've just told his majesty no." Feeling guilty, I apologized and agreed to meet with the prince. Mira returned to smiling her normal smile. "That's what I like to hear. Now how about some butterfly barrettes?! I think they just scream future Queen, don't you?"
"M-Mira! I barely even know him!" Mira continued to giggle at my expense before finishing my morning routine and sending me on my way. It was as I was walking around the corridors that I had finally realized, I had no idea where his majesty's room was.
Just great.
I was lost and not just your normal lost. Oh no. I was completely screwed, lost. I could barely tell up from down at this point. "They seriously need a map for this damn place." I huffed as I continued to walk down another never ending hallway. I nearly cried when I saw a staircase.
"Hello beautiful! Thank goodness, I thought I'd be in that maze of hallways forever." There was a sudden cough from behind me. I felt my face brighten as I turned around to face them.
"My, my, is that casual Lady Lucy?" I tilted my head towards the girl in front of me. She held an heir of elegance as she stared back at me. Her hair was a bright blonde with a natural curve. It bounced as she moved. In her hand was a fan. She seemed to be hiding a part of her face from me. But even without seeing her face you could feel a sense of superiority coming from behind the fan. Her eyes were an icy blue. All jokes aside, I felt frozen in place as I stared back at her.
"Hello?" I had no clue who this woman was.
She smiled behind her fan towards me. "You don't remember me, do you? Typical for a noble from the country." She shook her head disapprovingly. "It's not your fault Lady Lucy. You don't know any better, is all. Perhaps your parents will let you return home before things get too difficult for you-"
"Jenny!" The girl before me paused in her speech. "I was having trouble placing your face, but then I remembered your Coming of Age Gala. You were the girl who spilled wine all over Duke Dreyar's brand new suit!" Jenny stared at me speechless, even her fan fell from her face.
"You wouldn't happen to know where Prince Natsu's chamber is, do you? He invited me for breakfast but I seem to be lost." I started to lightly laugh.
However Jenny didn't respond. Instead she merely turned from me and started stomping her way back down the hall. I watched her go, rather confused.
"Was it something I said?"
I eventually did find Prince Natsu's visitor lounge. He was waiting for me at the table. I was surprised to see he was even still in here...I was lost for way longer than normal breakfast hours…
"Luigi, hey!" He stood and waved towards me. My face blew up like a tomato.
"LUIGI?!" I coughed to regain my composure before responding more maturely. "It's Lucy your Majesty-"
"Breakfast has already passed so I thought we'd have brunch. Hope that's okay!" Prince Natsu smiled towards me like a young boy.
"Were you even listening to me-"
"Hey Luigi, do you like cats?" I felt dizzy as he suddenly pulled me over to the couch where an oddly blue colored cat was lounging around.
"Why is he blue-"
"This is Happy!" I watched as his majesty picked up the cat and held him out to me. Nervously, I pat its head. A small purr resounds in the room. "He likes you!"
"T-thats nice?" Prince Natsu took a seat on the couch and placed Happy in his lap before nodding at the chair in front of him. Taking a seat, I watched in amazement as the servants around us began to change the food on the table in front of us.
"So why did you summon me this morning-"
"Look Happy they remembered your fish!" I pouted as he fed Happy and turned my attention to the food on my plate. It was a simple meal, a light soup with some bread on the side. There was a pleasant aroma coming from the teacup beside me. I picked up the cup and brought the liquid to my mouth. It had a floral taste, with a hint of mint. My bones began to sooth in the silence between us.
That was until the prince had started eating. I watched in horror as the pinkette started to consume everything insight- minus the cutlery.
"Y-your Highness?" He grunted in response before looking up at me.
"Yeah?" I almost gagged as he opened his mouth, which was still filled with food. Looking away, I waited for him to finish with..his meal.
"So, why did you invite me to dine with you this morning?" Prince Natsu smiled brightly towards me as he pointed to my bowl. "Are you gonna finish that?"
I shook my head as he brought the bowl to his lips. I felt very uncomfortable and continued to wait it out. Was he purposefully trying to be a slob?
Eventually he did finish -whatever you wanted to call that- and stretched back into his chair. Happy joined him in his stretching. "Hey Luigi, do you remember that story you were telling me about?" He smiled cheerfully at me.
"Story?" He gave me an overexaggerated nod. "I'm afraid not-"
"What?! Sure you do! It's the one about the fire wizard! You said he reminded you of me!" I was surprised by the outburst to say the least. Was the prince a man child?
"A Fire Wizard story?" I brought my hand to my chin, deep in thought.
Did he mean the story Fairy Tail?
I gave a small nod in understanding before responding to his majesty. "The only story I can think of is Fairy Tail-"
"Read it to me! Please!" He suddenly leaned forward towards me, stars in his eyes.
"I'm afraid that's a little difficult your highness-"
"Huh? Why?" I bit my lip as he stared up at me like a wounded puppy.
"Fairy Tail isn't really a popular book so I don't think you'd have it in the castle-" Before I could even finish my sentence, Prince Natsu called for one of his butlers. They approached him without delay.
"Can you find us a copy of the book Fairy Tail, please." The butler gave a curt nod before taking his leave.
"There we go, we'll have the book in no time!" He returned to smiling at me and silence returned to us.
This is really awkward.
Hope you guys enjoyed and stay healthy!
