Chapter 3
Silence of dread filled the air as a woman was stealthy sneaking around in one of the labs of the many hideouts of G.A.I.A.
This is Julia Ebele, a scientist that is kidnapped and forced to work for this insidious organization a year ago. She has dark brown skin, dark brown eyes, and black dreadlocks tied in a ponytail while wearing her lab attire.
And she's about escape and tell Interpol all about them... but first she needs to rescue the kids that was kidnapped from Camp Lockley two days ago.
Originally she was going to keep working for them so they wouldn't kill her, but when she heard that G.A.I.A. had kidnapped kids, that is one step to far! Julia couldn't believe they would go that low!
She was getting close to the lab where the kids are until she could see the window into the lab. What she saw made her look puzzled all she saw was five unconscious rabbits stored in clear plastic containers with small holes. And with them are two scientists in while hazmat suits while their faces are completely covered in black lens.
She could've sworn she heard that the kids were contained in that specific lab. And why are those scientists in those hazmat suits? She knew that everyone in G.A.I.A. aren't dealing with anything dangerous.
"How are the test subjects?"
Julia immediately moved away from the window as heard the familiar voice. It belonged to the so called "Professor" Arthur Jones, the currently leader of G.A.I.A.
She peered over the wall she's clinging to as she looked through the window seeing the evilly handsome man in his forties as with his black hair and dark brown eyes as he wore his lab attire.
"The formula was a success professor!" said the first scientist. "We managed to perfect the serum that can turn an individual into an animal!"
"Good thing it worked on those campers." the second one added. "We were running out of human lab rats we kidnapped previously four months ago!"
Julia almost gasped. She couldn't believe it that those rabbits are the kids she's plan on rescuing! More shockingly, they managed to perfect the Animorhpic Serum! It shouldn't be possible since it sounds something out of a science-fiction film!
"We also perfected the cure for the serum as well!" said the first scientist.
"Well that was quick." Arthur replied in surprised tone.
Julia was surprised too. She can now cure the kids once they leave. If the cure is in the lab since she doesn't have the time to make them because of her escape plan.
Today they turned off the security cameras for six hours to save power. Which would make things easier for her except they tripled the security patrol in the facility. But somehow she managed to find a clear route for her to hijack a car and get out without raising the alarms. And good thing that G.A.I.A. doesn't know about her personal life before she became a scientist. And if they did, they would've known she's a former street racer that evaded most of the authorities... even Interpol.
"We tested it on the kids and then turned them back into rabbits afterwards."
Bastards!
"We even tested the cure on regular animals." said the second scientist. "And the results are... unexpected."
"Of course you moron! It wouldn't do anything to animals that weren't originally human." Arthur reprimanded the second scientist.
"But it did effect them!" the first scientist said.
Arthur stared incredulously at them. "What?"
What?!
"Basically sir, it turned them into anthropomorphic humanoids with human-like intelligence and lifespan." the second scientist replied.
Both Julia and Arthur are in total disbelief.
Everyone was completely silent until Arthur spoke. "Hmmm. This sounds a bit close to one of the effects of that bomb Charles invented."
Julia knew who Arthur was talking about. Charles Davenport was the first leader that took over G.A.I.A. and killed Professor Stewart. Only Charles knew the blueprints and chemical formula of the bomb before he died in which the next leadership is passed down to Arthur. She wouldn't be surprised if he killed Charles himself to get the leadership.
"And one more thing. Why are you two wearing hazmat suits?"
"To prevent pricking ourselves with both the serum and the cure." the first scientist replied.
"Good idea." Arthur congratulated them. "And the turned animals?"
"We killed them off." the second scientist replied.
"Great work."
My god! These people are monsters!
"Alright then. Pack up both the serum and the cure." Arthur ordered. "We'll bring them to storage, and bring one of the cures so we can develop new three kinds of serums. The three of which I'm going to call Project Anti-Animorph, Project Anthromorph, and Project Reset; in which we'll be developing a serum to turn animals into humans, the second that can turn humans into anthropomorphic humanoids, and the third that cures both of them."
"Jolly good sir." the first scientist said as he, the second scientist, and Arthur exited out of the room as Julia hid by the corner of the hallway.
"No one likes a kiss-ass you idiot!" Arthur barked.
As he and the scientists (who are carrying all of the serum and cure) are out of sight, Julia quickly entered the room before the door closed as she looked around.
"Damn." she whispered quietly. "It would be nice to have four of the cures for these kids right now."
Then she quickly opened the containers of the transformed sleeping teenagers and placed them near a portable kennel which has room for all of them. After Julia did that, she went to the nearest advanced-looking computer as she plugged in a disguised flashdrive, a waterproof sunflower hairclip, while inserting four quarter-sized floppy disk like devices into the system unit wired to the computer as she then both turned it on and began typing the keyboard.
"At least I can copy the formula of the cure in my flashdrive and holodisks." Julia whispered to herself. "Plus, I can type down every hidden bases of G.A.I.A. so Interpol can put them down once and for all!"
The holodisks were of G.A.I.A.'s own design. They both store information and project holographic messages. These disks are special since they work in any drive and system unit since they expand or shrink their normal size to fit in. To activate the holographic message, there's a button close to its side.
Julia "borrowed" them just in case if she didn't make it out alive with the information in her hairclip flashdrive, at least she can place the holodisks inside the wristbands on each of the rabbit teenagers' wrist. And the holodisks has a hologram message for them explaining what happened to them in addition with the similar information stored in her hairclip flashdrive.
After she's done downloading the information, Julia placed back the flashdrive into her clip and inserted the four holodisks into the teenager's wristbands. Then she placed the teenagers into the kennel and immediately ran out of the room with them in hand.
For about thirty minutes she stealthily avoided other members of G.A.I.A. until she managed to get into the garage containing vehicles... including ones to blend in with the normal pedestrians of the United Kingdom.
She already chosen a car which is best in both evasion and street racing when she placed the kennel in the front passenger seat. Then she went to the control room of the garage and to open one of the passage ways that lead to the surface until she noticed something that filled her with dread!
There's a non-electrical alarm if the passages were open without the keycard of the higher staff while... even when hacked! Apparently this is a temporary update until the security cameras are back on. Meaning the garage card and codes she managed to steal earlier is now useless!
Julia cursed realizing this complicates her plan. She's even more annoyed that they keep information from normal staff members! But luckily if she were to open one of the exits, there's nothing they can do to stop it from opening.
The woman smiled nervously in a cocky manner as she thought "They might send some of guards to chase after me by car... but they won't catch me!"
Julia then typed into the computer to countdown to when to open the garage as she immediately got into the car and drove near the one of the exits.
She kept the engine running as the down was done as the one of the exits opened up as the alarm went of at the same time.
She punched a petal hard as she drove through the passageways until she got onto the surface, but at the same time two black military cars chased after her.
Julia smiled at the challenge as the vehicles began to pursue her. After five minutes of chasing with the midnight sky shining on them, she managed to escape as they all drove down a mountain like hill as she lost sight of them.
Well the chase wasn't as much fun as I hoped, but I still got away from them.
After an hour and twelve minutes of driving she was about to cross a bridge when the truck of the car exploded, causing it to flip over and land on the other side of the bridge.
Luckily Julia wore her seatbelt, but that doesn't help from preventing other injuries that she required. Her vision was hazy as he began to hear voices not to far.
"I DON'T THINK IT WAS NECESSARY TO USE A BLOODY BAZOOKA TO STOP THE BROAD!"
"Oh relax will you! I only a quarter of the car is damage!"
"BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SPECIMENS SHE STOLE YOU IDIOT! ONE OF THEM IS APPARENTLY IMPORTANT TO THE PROFESSOR FOR SOME REASON!"
"WILL YOU RELAX! From what we're told, Julia Ebele placed them in a Safeguard Portable Kennel! Which are used to delivery specimens on the surface without letting anyone know they're from G.A.I.A.! Plus it keeps the specimens unharmed from the inside!"
"Ugh, FINE! Let's get her and the kennel before—!"
Then both Julia and the two men heard the sounds of police sirens slowly approaching them.
"What the hell?! When do they patrol this far in the country?"
"That doesn't matter! We'll shoot them up and make look like some random gang did it!"
"Yeah except one problem."
"What?"
"The only weapon I've brought was the RPG... with one shell."
"You can't be serious!"
The sounds of sirens drew closer as the two men sound uneasy.
"Damnit! We'll have to explain to explain to the professor what happened. Hopefully he has a backup plan and get us killed for failing."
"And hopefully the woman is dead."
Then Julia heard them driving off as she smiled.
Perfect. Now I can get the children to Interpol once the cops...
Unfortunately she slipped into a coma in which she can't explain everything to the authorities. To make matters worse, when the car impacted, the kennel was hurled through the wind and into the river under the bridge. The kennel opened automatically as the four rabbit-turned-teenagers drifted in the river while in their unconscious state.
Dawn was almost on the rise as one rabbit came out of a hill of Sandleford Warren.
This is Hazel. And he's looking for his younger brother, Fiver.
The buck walked down from the warren and saw him a bit far from their home. He scampered towards him as the young buck stopped drinking from the river by sound of his older brother's feet.
"Having an early morning drink Fiver?" Hazel said with smile.
The buck turned around with grin. "Yes."
Then expression changed in serious but nervous one as he stared at his reflection in the water. "But that's half of it."
Hazel then looked concerned as he sat next to him. "Half?"
"I had vision last night Hazel." Fiver replied. "And it's the longest and most detailed one I ever had... and I can't remember any of it!"
As long Hazel could remember, his brother had this "gift" the moment he was born. It was taken sort of seriously until he predicted a flood last Autumn in which every added layers to the walls and entrances to block the waters.
The older brother let out a hearty chuckle. "Aren't you sure it's just a regular dream. Sometimes you don't remember all of it."
"I thought so to Hazel, but the moment I woke up, I was to come here, at this exact spot, by a strong driven instinct."
"And... what do you expect to find?"
Fiver let out a defeated sigh as he replied "I don't know. I thought just by waiting, I'll find out."
Hazel patted his little brother's shoulder as he then said. "Come on Hrairoo, let's find some breakfast. Maybe we'll get some thistles before the Owsla wakes up—!"
Then they went stiff as their ears stood up. They caught a scent in their nostrils. The smell of wet rabbits... and man?
This confused them as they turned their heads to their left and saw five bodies of young teenage rabbits drifting in the stream.
They gasped as Hazel ran towards them and yelled back to his brother "FIVER GET THE OWLSA! QUICK!"
The young buck ran as fast as he could back to the warren as Hazel swam and grabbed each individual teenage rabbit back to shore. The moment got the last one, began to check if any of them have signs of life. Luckily, they did, to much of Hazel's relief. Then he stared at them with puzzled look.
Is are they what Fiver is waiting for?
Whatever the case, Hazel knows that these youngling need to be in a barrow to be dried up and warm. Then they are in for a rude awakening finding themselves in a unfamiliar warren in which Threarah will be asking them questions on how they ended up in the river in the first place.
Then he noticed the strange things wrapped around their right wrists. Hazel then realized that they were must've been kept as pets by man. He only heard stories about rabbits in human captivity and never thought that they would be true.
This would also explain the human smell on them. Hazel thought.
Fiver's constant calling for the Owsla caught his attention as both his little brother and the other rabbits are close to arrival.

As a rabbit, Erik has dark golden-brown fur resembling both dawn and dusk while having a silver-ish white tail. He is not to resemble or/and look a lot like the other rabbit characters in this FanFic (even ones in future chapters).
As a rabbit, Joey has grey fur with a blue tint (the blue tint doesn't overpowering the grey color) while having eye circles being a darker shade of his fur color. He is not to resemble or/and look a lot like the other rabbit characters in this FanFic (even ones in future chapters).
As a rabbit, Bren has light brown fur with a blonde forehead that reaches all the way to his back but not touching or/and getting near his tail (the blonde color blends in well with his light brown fur) while having a darker shade of light brown on his feet. He is not to resemble or/and look a lot like the other rabbit characters in this FanFic (even ones in future chapters).
As a rabbit, Darian has dark brown fur while having a lighter shade where his mouth is and a darker shade on the bridge of his nose. His head and hairstyle is similar to Angoramon's (from Digimon Ghost Game but without copyrighting whatsoever!) except being non-Digimon looking and his face is all furred with the additional hairstyle (a mohawk of his human form) on his head but in a darker shade from the rest of his fur colors. He is able to see despite the hair covering his eyes. He is not to resemble or/and look a lot like the other rabbit characters in this FanFic (even ones in future chapters).
As a rabbit, Anya has honey beige fur that resembles the dawning and midday sun while having a darker shade on her ears. Has eye circles (only the bottom half; shaped similarly to the Pokémon "Cinderace's") that is a lighter color than her fur's. Also has spots on her back that is a darker shade of her fur color. She is not to resemble or/and look a lot like the other rabbit characters in this FanFic (even ones in future chapters).
Hazel's appearance's is a fusion between the animated TV series version of him (Season 1 to 3; by 75%) and the 2018 miniseries' (by 25%; he doesn't look like a hare whatsoever, only a rabbit!).
