Chapter 6: Weather.
The sound of snapping fingers rouse the rat and swordsman of Aincrad. Blurry eyes vaguely sensing shapes within the Kirigaya household, trying to blink the sleep away until they land on each other. Half asleep and wrapped in the other's arms, the two of them lack any hesitation as their lips connect, sliding into place softly and slipping moans into their lover's mouth.
"Oi, wake up!"
A light thwack sounds throughout the house as Suguha Kirigaya brandishes her rolled-up newspaper and strikes the lover's connected foreheads, eliciting a pair of pained moans.
"Your girlfriend needs to go home Kazuto." Suguha, ever caring sister that she is, says. "The news says there's a 40% chance of rain!"
"The news is never right regarding weather." Kazuto, ever lazy brother that he is, mumbles back; turning over and dragging the sleepy blonde with him into the couch's cushions. Snores quickly following the action, forcing an errant twitch to mar Suguha's face; a violent expression growing as she tightens her improvised weapon.
Her following swings held no mercy.
"I'm sorry Kii-bou." Argo says, running her hands through her hair as the two of them walked down the road.
"It's not your fault Argo." The young man says, a slight limp from the stings of a rolled-up newspaper to his thighs. "Suguha's just… scary, when she cares. Plus she just doesn't want you getting sick."
The two of them had a lucky break when exchanging contact info, mostly in the form of a nearby train station. The price for a ticket was relatively cheap, considering its location, and led directly to either beta tester's relative homes. A convenient mode of transportation, letting the two companions stay in close contact in the months past Sword Art Online.
"I still feel bad though."
"Tell you what Argo." Kirito says, rubbing his depressed rat's back. "How about I make it up to you later? We can go rock climbing sometime. You can show me the ropes; how about it?"
"Ya promise!?" Argo says, her eyes shining as her partner shows interest in one of her favorite hobbies. When the young man smiles and nods, few were prepared for her squealing and throwing herself at him, wrapping her strong arms around his neck as he lifts her and twirls the both of them. "'S a date Kii-bou!"
And then the rain let loose, showering the two of them in an instant.
"Shit."
This elegant quote slips from the lips of semi-famous moderator and beta tester, Kazuto Kirigaya, as he watches the heavy pelts of rain dominate the street outside the train station. It was an unrelenting storm, a torrent of hailing water pellets that had already soaked his and Argo's hoodies and pants, a waterlogged wetness beginning to settle in their bones.
"So." Argo begins, a teasing grin in place. "'bout th'weatherman never bein' right—"
"Not another word, Rat." Kirito mutters, unable and unwilling to properly wipe the grin from her face.
Silence dominates them, broken only by the ambiance of rainfall and future passengers readying for the train to arrive. The blonde of the two shuffles closer, her hand magnetizing to her friend's own as she struggles finding a way to word her desires.
"Do…" Argo begins, unsure what to say. "Do y'want t'… maybe… come home with me instead? We can call yer home on th'ride there?"
Kirito watches the rain impassively, interlocking fingers with his rat. The weight of all of his options were placing themselves on the scales of his mind, figuring out which action he should take in his current predicament—
"Yeah that's probably the best idea." He says, taking the obvious option that wouldn't ensure he ended up sick.
"Hey… um..." Argo suddenly speaks, her normal confidence nowhere to be seen. "Could… could y'pay fer my ticket, please? I'm… pretty low on funds n'—"
"I know Argo." Kirito interrupts, knowing how much asking for money hurts his friend. "I've never let you down, have I?"
"Well, thr' was tha' one time—"
"I've never let you down recently, have I?"
A peck on his cheek is her answer, with a mischievous comment and a teasing grin that leaves the young man's face a blazing blush of neon red.
"Thank y'much, Sugar Daddy."
AN(2): Yeah, I'm no longer in KiriArgo Week 2021, but I'm still going to work on this. I will finish this story, as there's only one chapter left, but mostly because I plan to have it serve as a prologue into a bigger story!
Now you might be wondering why the chapter feels so short? Well, that's because the rest of it is pure smut, which I'm not going to post on Fanfiction, so as to not upset their Terms of Service. Instead, my AO3 account has the smut, uncensored, ready for your viewing pleasure!
Also this is the last time I promise 5k words of smut without a good amount of prep time! (I'll probably try this again, but later.)
