(Ok a quick AN before I start this chapter- thanks for all of the support so far! I've gotten 3 favorites and 3 follows! This is the best any of my fanfics have done favorite-wise! So thank you so much for reading this, I've had a lot of fun writing and I hope you enjoy this next chapter!)

The class finished up their reading time and got ready to move into math. Mr. Scott left the classroom to make some copies and Dwight immediately turned to Jim.

"You didn't raise your hand one time to answer," Dwight said.

"I know," Jim replied as he sat back down at his table with a new notebook.

"Is that because you don't know any of the answers?" Dwight asked cooly as he laid out 5 yellow highlighters in front of him.

"No, but I wouldn't want to raise my hand all the time, I'd look like a try-hard."

Dwight pursed his lips. "I knew all of the answers. That's why I raised my hand, unlike Oscar"

"Uh-huh," Jim said. "I guess we'll see during math."

Dwight was mad because Mr. Scott had been giving Oscar all of the attention because he was able to answer all of the questions before anyone else. Dwight found it his duty to try to beat Oscar out because Dwight was "more capable" than all of the students in the classroom. Jim turned to Pam before Dwight could make any more of a fuss.

"What was that about?" Pam asked.

"Oh, I think things are about to get competitive. Just play along and follow my lead."

Pam nodded. "Hey Jim, I can't play with you at recess tomorrow. I'm going to ask Oscar for help with my homework." Jim raised an eyebrow impressed and Pam winked.

"Oh, what a coincidence! I was going to ask him too!" Jim said.

Dwight laughed. "You need help with homework on the second day of school! What a bunch of idiots!" He scoffed.

Pam leaned into Jim but remembered to talk loud enough that Dwight could hear. "I'm glad we're not asking Dwight for help! He seems mean. Besides, Oscar's smarter. He will be more willing to help and be smarter to help us even better!"

"Hey! You don't want Oscar to help you!" Dwight flushed. "I'm much smarter than him! In first grade, I knew how to count to ten-thousand!"

"And I knew how to count to infinity," Jim smirked. "It's not that impressive Dwight."

This morning, Michael announced that every day there would be a class helper. Jim immediately volunteered, seeing that this could be an opportunity to mess with Dwight. Michael re-entered the classroom with an excited look on his face.

"Today for math we are going to do Jeopardy!" He said. "Now, I want you to get into groups of three." Jim immediately ran over to Oscar, but unluckily Kevin had already attached himself to Oscar. Jim turned to Pam who looked betrayed and shrugged.

"I'm sorry! Sacrifice yourself to make Dwight mad!"

Pam nodded and turned away smugly. The only way to get back at Jim for leaving her and not putting up with Dwight- make her own dream team.

"Hey Toby!" Pam called. Toby turned. Sadly, he had no partners yet. But in Pam's case, this was a good thing. "Want to be on my team?"

Toby nodded, though he tried to seem not too excited. Kelly also ran over who looked really sad.

"What's wrong Kelly?" Toby asked kindly.

"Ryan betrayed me!" Kelly sobbed. "He joined another team and left me! How could he!"

"It's alright Kelly," Pam comforted her. "You can be on our team! We needed one more person!"

Not exactly the team Pam was hoping for, but Kelly might prove to be some help… The three looked around the classroom. The teams were Oscar, Jim, and Kevin; Stanley, Phyllis, and Ryan; Dwight and Angela; Meredith and Creed.

"We got this in the bag," Pam said. "Right?"

Kelly nodded and Toby shrugged. "We'll give it our best shot!" Toby said.

"Okay," Michael said. "I've been planning on doing Jeopardy for a really long time and it's going to be just like the real thing- well besides the fact that there's-" Michael paused to count. "5 teams."

"What's Jeopardy?" Angela asked.

"I'll do the work," Dwight whispered to her.

Michael handed out buttons with cords leading to the computer. "If you know the answer, press the button and I'll be able to see who presses first. The questions are going to be math-related, and the only grade is going be participation, so make sure you actually try."

Everyone readied their teams.

"Okay Oscar," Jim said. "We're counting on you. You got this."

"You heard what Mr. Scott said. Everyone has to try."

"Fine. But you have to do most of the work. We don't want the fate of our team in Kevin's hands." They both turned to see Kevin sneakily (not really that sneaky) eating some candy from his backpack.

"Makes sense. Fine"

"We're going to lose," Meredith said.

"Yeah, probably," Creed agreed.

Ryan turned to pump up his teammates. "Common guys! We got this!"

"I hope so," Phyllis said. "I'm not very good at math."

"I'm sure you've got some in there!"

"Okay, what's your team names?" Michael asked the class. They all huddled together to discuss what their team names would be. "You guys ready now?"

"Yep," A few students said in chorus.

"Okay, Jim, Oscar, and Kevin. What is your team name?"

"The Vipers!" Jim exclaimed.

"Cool, cool." Michael wrote 'vipers' across the top of the whiteboard. "Aright, Meredith and Creed?"

"The Winners!" Creed announced a bit too excited for his own good.

"Okay-" The name 'winners' was added to the whiteboard.

"T-rex's!" Ryan exclaimed.

"Cats!" Dwight announced, though looked at Angela a bit madly. Jim figured this was because Angela probably picked out the team name.

"Alright," Michael said. "Last team, Toby, Pam, and Kelly."

"We are the Queens," Toby said and looked at Kelly a bit exasperated. Kelly was bouncing with excitement.

"Okay, well that's all of the teams. Now we can start." The screen lit up to show the Jeopardy screen with the categories: Multiplication, Division, Prime Numbers, Decimals to Fractions, and Improper Fractions. "The Vipers can go first."

Jim and Oscar huddled together before saying the category. "Multiplication for 600!" Oscar shouted. The screen changed to show the question.

"What is 12 times 12?" Michael asked. Kelly reached across and hit the buzzer. "The Queens buzzed in first!"

Toby and Pam both gaped at Kelly. "I don't know this!" Pam said.

"What is 144?" Kelly said ignoring her.

"That is correct!" Michael said adding 600 points to the Queens' section.

"We did it!" Pam said and they all jumped in excitement. "How did you know that?"

"I had to memorize it at summer camp," Kelly said bashfully. "I know multiplication up to 12 times 12."

"Ok Queens, you pick the next category,"

The game continued on, getting more and more competitive. The high scores were The Vipers with 2000 points, The Queens with 1800 points, and The Cats with 1500 points. It was the final round. (It had to be cut short because school was ending soon).

"The Vipers!" Michael said. "Pick the category."

"Division for 1000," Oscar said excitedly. Oscar had given in and was just as competitive as the others.

"Whoever wins this round wins the game and gets a prize! Okay, what is 51 divided by 17," Michael said. All three teams buzzed in, but The Vipers came in first. They were all permitted 5 seconds to answer, and Jim realized he didn't know.

"What is 4?" Jim tried.

"Incorrect," Michael said a bit disappointed. "The Queens! What is your answer?"

"3!" Pam said confidently and smirked at Jim.

"Correct!" Michael said. "The Queens win!"

The team jumped up and down with excitement. "How did you know that?!" Kelly exclaimed.

"I did the math while Jim was answering!" Pam exclaimed.

"What's the prize, Mr. Scott?" Kelly asked.

Michael looked at them and started sweating a bit nervously. "Oh, um, it's in the teacher's lounge," Michael got out of his seat and sprinted out the door. Kelly, Pam, and Toby all looked at each other, shrugged, and returned to their seats. Jim sat down next to Pam.

"Wow!" Jim said. "I'm impressed you beat the one and only Oscar!"

"You didn't think I could?" Pam asked smugly.

"No, well- but I think Dwight didn't. I'm mainly surprised by Kelly."

"Yeah, me too. And, I think you learned not to abandon me again." They both laughed.

Dwight walked over and sat at his desk silently.

"How do you feel?" Jim asked.

"You and Oscar didn't win," Dwight said.

"Neither did you."

Michael came back into the classroom with a plastic bag. "The prize is ice cream sandwiches!" He said. He passed one out to The Queens and The Vipers since they were first and second. Pam looked over and Dwight and handed him her ice cream sandwich. "Here Dwight."

"Why are you giving me this?" He inquired.

"You deserved it. Plus, I'm not hungry."
