Michael Scott got up to leave his classroom after a successful first week of school. Well, besides the fact that Todd Packer had been expelled for the entire school year. Michael shouldered his work bag and headed out the door to be confronted by his coworker Josh Porter.
"Hey, Michael" He said. "Some of the staff is meeting up at Chili's. Wanna come?"
"Well, not with you, but I'll go," Michael walked past Josh and drove himself to Chili's. At the other end of the restaurant, Jan Levinson was setting up a long table. She turned, noticing Michael.
"Oh, Michael, I didn't know you were coming." She said a bit downheartedly.
"Well, I'm here now," He sat himself down at the table.
"Michael, your 20 minutes early." After those excruciating 20 minutes with Jan and Michael alone, people finally started coming.
"Michael," Jan finally said. "There's someone very important coming today. They are here to evaluate the staff and the school."
Michael nodded.
"Are you sure you can handle yourself?"
Michael puffed his cheeks holding in laughter. "That's what she said!"
Jan shook her head seriously. "You can't mess this up Michael. There are better schools in the Scranton school district. We need this to go well in order for our school to go well. That's why I didn't invite you!"
"I wasn't invited?"
Jan sighed. Just then, a man came through the door. He walked over to the table and held out his hand to Michael.
"Hi, I'm Christian." The man said.
"And I am Michael Scott, teacher at East Scranton Elementary." Michael proudly shook Christians hand.
After a so far uneventful night in Jan's view and an exciting night with baby back ribs, awesome blossoms, and jokes in Michael's view, the procrastinating couldn't move along any further. It was time for the interviews. Though, the interviews came short because Christian had become tired after the "fun" night. Though, Christian had thoroughly enjoyed it.
"Let's cut this short so we can all go home," Christian began. "This has been a fun night with all of you and I can believe you all have a good time with your students. So let's get out of here!"
They all walked to their cars and Jan and Michael walked Christian to his.
"I had a good time tonight," Christian said to Michael. "Your a great guy, and I can see why you teach kindergarten." Christian got in his car and drove away. Michael and Jan jumped with excitement.
"I can't believe you did it Michael!" Jan said and leaned in to kiss him. "I'm so sorry Michael,"
Michael smiled with the excitement of a little kid. Then, Michael kissed her again.
