"We are a couple weeks into school now," Mr. Scott stated. "Now, you will all take a test to see what you have learned so far. Any questions?"
"How many questions is the test?" Toby asked.
"Any good questions?" Mr. Scott asked.
"Will it count towards our grade?" Oscar asked.
"Yes it will," Mr. Scott said.
"Can I pass out the tests?" Kelly asked.
"Yes you can," He handed the test booklets to Kelly who then passed all the tests out to the students.
"You may begin." He said. They all scrambled to do their tests.
It was now time for recess and the class was dismissed. Mr. Scott sat down at his desk with his lunch and began grading the tests. Out at recess, Roy confronted Jim.
"Do you like Pam?" Roy asked menacingly.
"No," Jim quivered slightly. "You?"
"Yes," Roy said matter-of-factly. "I am going to ask her out to the Halloween dance."
"You know they said no date because this is elementary-"
"THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT! You need to back off her! We don't want anything to get messy-" Roy stalked off and Jim ran up to Pam stifling his laughter.
"You should've seen Roy!" He laughed. "He really thought he was doing something by threatening me!"
Pam laughed, but not so light-heartedly. "I'm really sorry Jim. But he is nice. Come on, let's go eat lunch."
The whole class ate lunch and returned to the classroom, nervous to see their test scores. Mr. Scott expressionlessly passed the tests back to the students.
"I got 95!" Pam said excitedly.
"Good job! I got 65!" Jim said. Pam looked at him. "I'm just kidding, I got 80! I swear I studied this time."
They both laughed.
"Now," Mr. Scott began. "Halloween is coming up and there is going to be a dance! Just, have fun and get your parents to sign this permission form. Halloween is still in a few weeks so you have time before the dance."
"Are you going to ask anyone to the dance?" Pam asked.
"Hmm, maybe. But not you."
They both laughed again.
"Val's nice, but I think Darryl's going to ask her. There's Katey, but I don't really know her. Plus, she's really pretty so I bet a lot of people would try to ask her."
Jim nodded and smiled. "Hey Dwight what did you get?" He asked.
"85, I'm guessing you got 40?"
"No, I got 95." Jim smirked and waved Pam's test in front of his face.
Dwight rolled his eyes. "No you dummy that's Pam's test."
"Oh, oops, in that case I got an 80."
