Michael Scott made his way to Jan's office. She looked up from her computer.
"Are you ready to go out to dinner?" Michael smiled.
Jan grimaced. "Michael, you realize we're not official, right? This could be bad for both of our jobs and I don't know the rules very well, but what could be going on between us could be illegal."
Michael shrugged. "I love you Jan. We can't let the laws get between our love."
Jan sighed. "Michael your very sweet, but you can't let love blind you."
Michael nodded hurriedly and they rushed out of the school.
Mr. Scott opened the classroom doors to allow the students in. Dwight stood to let Jim pass him.
"What's wrong with you?" Jim asked in a very worried sounding voice.
"Thanks but no thanks for the concern. I don't like people behind me. I will e more likely attacked from the back."
"But you could still be attacked from the front." Jim pointed out.
"Yes, but-" Dwight was interrupted by Jim slapping him in the face and walking into the classroom.
Mr. Scott seemed very happy today, yet none of the students knew exactly why. Pam and Jim had a sneaking suspicion this had some to do with Ms. Levinson, but they decided they should keep that information to themselves. With the Halloween dance being the talk of the elementary school, Jim was still anxious to ask someone out. Though they weren't technically allowed to "ask someone out" to the dance because they were "too young", that wasn't stopping the 4th graders. Jim had thought about what Pam had said about Katey, and he decided it was worth a shot. She was only one of the most popular in 4th grade- But, Jim was a bit jealous. Ever since Roy had befriended Pam, Jim had been a bit jealous. Jim had known her first, yet Roy still had gained the courage to ask her before Jim could.
At recess, Jim found his chance when Katey was all alone.
"Hey," Jim said as he approached Katey.
"Hi," She said a bit bashfully.
"I'm Jim, and I just wanted to say your very pretty," Jim said using all of his charm and confidence.
"Thank you," Katey replied.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go to the Halloween dance with me," Jim said and took a deep breath.
"Sure!" Katey said and smiled as Jim walked away. Katey knew she was pretty popular. It was all very fun and she knew it was a matter of days before she was asked to the dance. Everyone was doing it. All of the popular boys were asking out girls already. Katey wouldn't really consider Jim one of the popular kids, but he had a lot of friends and was funny and nice. She didn't really know him that well, but it would work. She was really hoping someone like Roy would, but instead he had asked the shy, new girl. Katey didn't like to be mean, but she was a bit jealous. The girl was very lucky to be asked out by Roy Anderson. Katey knew Jim and the girl were good friends, so she didn't know why Jim hadn't asked her and instead herself. Maybe, this would get Pam jealous and to back off.
Katey ran back over to her friends.
"I just got asked to the dance!" She squealed.
"Pam!"Jim called.
"Yeah?" She said turning away from Kelly was was rambling on about something.
"I just asked Katey to the dance! And she said yes!"
Pam pursed her lips slightly, but covered it with a smile. "Good job! I didn't expect you to actually go through with it!"
"Yep," Jim said. "I can't wait for the dance."
