Minegishi wondered if it would have just been easier to let their roots grow out.

Every month, about, they had to dye their roots. The whole process took way too long….not that they had anything really going on…but it was a tedious one. Normally Mob would have been there to make the whole process less tedious but she was busy now. At some point she had gotten into yoga….which was good. Objectively it was. Good for exercise and mindfulness and all of that stuff. Made you more limber, too, which was always good. It was nice to see Mob doing something for herself for once…even though she was doing it without them…

Mob was her own person.

Mob was her own person and Minegishi was their own person and they didn't need Mob glued to their side twenty four seven. Sure it was weird having a hair dying day without Mob camping out over there sitting on the side of the tub asking them anything that came into her mind. Sure it would have been nice to have someone to talk to right now, even if it was just to either ask them extremely personal questions or go over the latest Mob-ism that she had come up with…but then again a lot of things would have been nice. It would have been nice if the Earth decided to cool it with the global warming, summer here was un-fucking-bearable, and it would have been nice if, as well, Tsuchiya would have realized that with it being as hot out as it was then maybe, just maybe, opening the windows wasn't the best move to make.

Besides, it wasn't that smoky in here anyway.

Minegishi flicked the end of their cigarette into the tub. They'd deal with that later…eventually. They really should have stopped smoking a while ago. It set a bad example for Mob, she had only started smoking because of Minegishi in the first place, and also…yeah. It was bad for them and bad for the people around them…but not bad enough that Tsuchiya had to let all the air conditioning out. God….it was too fucking hot today. Minegishi needed a nap…well they'd just woken up from one but they needed another one…not really, actually, but they would have liked one….

Maybe once their hair was done.

Bleach. The bleach went first. Going from black to Lavender was not easy and they could not skip the bleach. They had tried to, before, in their misguided youth. Back when they had thought that shampoo in hair dye would work with their hair since it said only one wash was needed…why they sold something like that in Japan of all places was beyond them. Back when they had been young and stupid instead of old and stupid…not even old. Twenty nine…not even thirty. Getting close though. Thirty years on this Earth and all Minegishi had to show for it was a substantial criminal record, a friendship bracelet, and a hell of a lot of dye damaged hair. Great…

Well there was also their boyfriend.

"What is it, Ryou?" asked Minegishi as they felt the energy around them begin to shift. Their hanging spider plants got excited. They always loved it when they had the chance to suck the life out of someone…though the opportunity hadn't come up in a while. They were itching for something to do…and so was Minegishi…

Not that they would be sucking the life out of Ryou anytime soon.

No, he sucked the life out of them, it felt like, but also he gave them life at the same time. He could be so completely, totally, and utterly exhausting one minute but also he sent their heart all aflutter like they were the protagonist in one of Mob's pulpy shoujo mangas. Even now, in the split second before he fully came into the room, they could feel their pulse quickening and their head spinning…

Though they might have just been inhaling too many bleach fumes.

"Wild flower for my Toshi?" asked Ryou as he teleported into the bathroom. They had no idea what he had been up to but they assumed that it had something to do with the garden center at Costco judging by the potted plant he was holding that still had the Costco tags on it…and the dirt…a lot of dirt….

They smiled….just a little bit.

"Ryou, what are you doing?" asked Minegishi as they turned to face him. He balanced the plant, a fern, with one hand and took theirs in his free one. He brought it up to his lips and kissed it…and they smiled but did not blush….not that much anyway….

They didn't need Mob, they were turning into Mob.

"I saw this wildflower and I thought of you." Said Ryou

"First of all that's not a wild flower, that's a fern. It's neither wild nor a flower…and second of all you're getting dirt everywhere. What have you been up to today?" asked Minegishi as they took the fern from Ryou and put it on the side of the tub. Maybe it could be the new Mob…not as talkative as her though. This one wanted water, it was thirsty, and also freaking out. Well Ryou had been teleporting with it all over Tokyo it look like.

"Went to Costco." Said Ryou. Minegishi raised the space where an eyebrow would have been. They knew that he sensed that. He just stood there with his hands in his pockets. If he had started whistling it would have been perfect.

"And…..?" asked Minegishi

"And I saw that and thought of you…well I didn't see that, it felt it. It felt all…leafy…like a lot of your plants are. So I took it and then I came back here." Said Ryou

"That explains the plant but why are you covered in dirt?" asked Minegishi

"This? Sho and baby Suzuki were trying to bury me." Said Ryou

"You know that just raises further questions, right?" asked Minegishi

"I know. That's the plan." Said Ryou

"To play twenty questions with me?" asked Minegishi

"No, to be talk to you." Said Ryou. He took a step forward and kissed the space between their neck and their shoulder. They ran a hand through his hair. Dirt rained down.

"You can just talk to me, you know that right?" asked Minegishi as Ryou trailed kisses down their shoulder. He pulled their shirt to the side and kept up the good word. Minegishi glared at the fern, willing it to comment on anything. Plants could be so nosy sometimes. They knew, well some of them did anyway, a lot more than you would think. Really they could be kind of intelligent. It was a shame that they were eaten, really, but that was the nature of the food chain and human life and all of that biological and philosophical stuff that they were not about to get into.

They had enough to get into as it was.

"I know…but I know that you don't like to be bothered sometimes…so I had to find an excuse to bother you." Said Ryou as his hands found their way up Minegishi's hips and across to their stomach. He was kissing his way up, now, from their shoulders to their neck. If he was bothered by the fact that they stank like a bleach factory exploded he didn't let on…even though they knew what his sense of smell was like…though he might not have been able to smell anything over the earthy smell of the dirt.

Which made sense since dirt was, you know, earth.

"You can bother me if you want to….and you're not bothering me. I welcome the company actually." Said Minegishi. Ryou tipped their head back and made his way from one side of their neck to the other. He kissed his way upwards…they couldn't help the shudder that went down their spine…and they knew that he could sense that. They could feel him kissing a smug smile into the side of their neck just underneath their ear.

"I bet you do." Said Ryou before he took their earlobe between his teeth. They may or may not have been able to stand up on their own in that moment…but it didn't matter. Ryou was there and he held them up…how one man could be so strong they would never know. Ryou holding them close and holding them up activated some primitive part of their brain that said 'this guy can fight off dinosaurs or whatever. Make babies with him right now before the fertile cycle ends. Then go out and collected various edible plants and hoard them for the cold times.' Or something like that, anyway. They…maybe felt like listening to that primitive part of their brain. He was there and he was Ryou…sexy as fuck even if he was covered in dirt.

This man would be their undoing.

Mainly because he was undoing the drawstring of their pajama pants. The bathroom door shut its self. Ryou's doing. Telekinesis. Nothing on the level of that they'd seen from the likes of the Suzuki family but still something impressive. By their standards at least. Ryou, once you got past certain…Ryou-isms….really was an impressive man.

Impressively strong, too.

"This can't support my weight." Said Minegishi as Ryou picked them up and sat them on the bathroom counter. The kitchen counter, yes, could support them but not the bathroom counter. Cheaper and not bolted in as well. They could feel it moving under them right now and they knew that Ryou could feel it too…not that it bothered him…very little in this world bothered him….though Minegishi did notice him grimacing as he pulled away from them. So the bleach smell was getting to him after all…maybe they could just rinse this out and try again later…or deal with half bleached roots…or just learn to live with their natural hair color…or…or…or…

Or that. That worked too.

"Yours, yes. Mine? No." said Ryou as he hiking their t-shirt up over their stomach. He kissed his way down the line of hair that they had their. They had hated it before, along with most everything else about their body, but he had this way of making them love themselves…or at least how sensitive their stomach was. They ran a hand through his hair and stopped at the top of his head before pushing, gently, down. Gently enough that he got the message.

Which of course he did…even if he did want to play dumb about it.

"You want me to stop?" asked Ryou, his voice muffled by their pajama pants. Minegishi shook their head.

"You know what I want…so either get to it or let me down before this bleach seeps into my brain." Said Minegishi. He kissed the space right under their belly button…they wondered if he could sense the way he turned their organs to a finely made aspic…probably. He probably patted himself on the back about it when they weren't around.

"Hmm….well I do know what you want…but what do you need?" asked Ryou. Minegishi closed their eyes and groaned.

"If this is about the 'needy' thing then you need to come off it. I was concussed. If this is you playing coy then let me make myself perfectly clear. I, Minegishi Toshiki, having never been of sound mind in my life do hereby ask you, Shimazaki Ryou, someone who has also never been of sound mind in his life, to eat me until I scream your name and rip out at least one handful of your hair. Then I want you to pick me up, brace me against the wall without the towel rack, and make me scream your name again. Then I want you to leave me alone so I can finish fixing my hair." Said Minegishi. There was a pause, there, while Ryou processed all of that. They could see the wheels in his head turning. His face was pressed up against their inner thigh. The flexed the muscles there to get his attention.

He snapped out of it.

"Toshiki….have I ever told you that you're not only the love of my life but the most amazing person that I have ever met?" asked Ryou

"You may have mentioned that in passing…now are you going to eat me or just enjoy the view?" asked Minegishi

"Hey, only I get to make blind jokes." Said Ryou before he kissed their inner thigh again. He made his way up, one hand caressing their leg and the other one reaching for the band of their pajama pants. The closed their eyes and leaned back against the mirror. They didn't care if they smudged the mirror, they did not care that they knocked the toothbrush cup off the counter, and they didn't even care that they were going to end up over bleaching their hair. No, it was impossible to care about anything when Ryou was on his knees in front of them.

Well it was almost impossible to care about anything.

"Fuck!" said Ryou before he teleported away. Minegishi hopped off the counter. They didn't have time to identify what it was that they were feeling. This mixture of anger and disappointment and pain and loneliness. They didn't want to have time for that. No, what they wanted to do was turn back time to ten seconds ago. Before Ryou teleported away from them to hold the bathroom door shut….or maybe to before whoever had broken the door had been born so they could stop them for existing….or maybe even to before Sho had been born…no, not to stop him from existing but instead so they could steal him and raise him to become the sort of person who didn't just go barging into bathrooms like that.

Honestly.

"Ryou, come on! You can watch Minegishi color their hair later…and I don't even know what you want to see that for anyway since you don't know what color is!" said Sho as he pounded on the door like it had personally affronted him…which it might as well have. God…that fucking kid. This had been going on for three years now, since Ryou had met the little monster, and Minegishi was getting tired of this…no. They had been tired of this for a while.

Now they were just exhausted.

"Ryou! Grave! Over there!" shouted Mukai. Now there was a second set of fists pounding on the door. Minegishi shook their head. Suzuki number three. Small enough that pretty much everything she did was annoying…though they would gladly have dealt with three Mukai's if it meant that they didn't have to deal with Sho anymore.

"You guys can dig my grave without me, ok?" asked Ryou. He was fully planning on joining them even if he spoke to the contrary. They could see him flexing the muscles in his thighs in an effort to divert blood flow. God…and he wanted them to have kids? Their own kids…dealing with their own kids would have been even worse than this since they couldn't just send their own kids off somewhere else.

Not that Ryou was planning on sending Sho off somewhere….no. He never did.

"Ryou, just go. You know that he's not going to give up so just go and let him bury you alive or whatever he has planned." Said Minegishi as they got back to their hair. It had been long enough that they could rinse this out. Rinse out the bleach, add the color, let it sit, and then rinse that out too. After that they'd nap until nightfall, have dinner, and nap some more. Maybe spend some time with Mob, too, if she was up for it.

Just another day in Minegishi Land.

"But we were just-" said Ryou

"Graves! Games! Graves games!" shouted Mukai

"Ryou, please. I have a headache." Said Minegishi. Ryou sighed and opened the door just enough to slip out. Minegishi got back to work. They had stuff to do. Everyone had stuff to do. They took the tinfoil off of their hair and threw it away. Their roots…were maybe over bleached. They were yellow, that yellowish off-white they turned…but also….they seemed….thinner? Finer? Just…less…was there…and also there was some hair staying behind in the tinfoil…

Great.

Minegishi's hair was sensitive. Most everything on their body was sensitive. Everything on the outside, anyway. They had baby hair. Jun, back when there had been a Jun in their life, had told them that they had soft hair for someone so angry all the time. Jun had said a lot of things about their hair…and about them…the same sorts of things Ryou said. Soft hair, soft skin, hard inside…but still loveable. Matsuo said the same things…well not the loveable part….and they loved that about him. He knew better than to ruin what they had by saying something stupid like 'I love you'. Minegishi…did not need a third person to love them. They had already lost one person…and they were taking a giant chance on Ryou…and they did not feel like taking that chance again. They were not a gambler. Ryou…he was enough of a risk as it was. He was worth the reward, though, when he was around…and not on his bullshit…he really was worth the risk…and they loved him so fucking much…which was great. The whole thing was great…

"Hello!"

And now it was double great. They felt someone pulling at the leg of their pajama pants. They hiked them back up and redid the drawstring. No need to traumatize Mukai for life. No, being Suzuki's daughter had messed her up enough as it was…well it would later on. Right now she was just a normal, happy, friendly two year old.

And she could go and be a normal, happy, friendly two year old somewhere else.

"Hello. Now go away." said Minegishi. They gave Mukai a slight kick with the back of their heel. They weren't trying to hurt her, no, they just wanted her to go away and get back to grave digging or whatever it was that Sho had dragged Ryou off to do.

"Hello Mine!" said Mukai. She either didn't notice or didn't care. She was still tugging on Minegishi's pant leg, still smiling, and still just….two and oblivious. Minegishi…did not have the patience to deal with a two year old. They hadn't had the patience to deal with her at three months and they didn't have the patience to deal with her at twenty four months…or however old she was now.

"Yeah, hello. What do you want?" asked Minegishi. Mukai…actually looked thoughtful for a moment. She did that thing that Sho and Suzuki did where their pupils shrank down to nothing….not a good look on anyone.

"Graves. Ryou graves. Over there." said Mukai. She pointed towards the door. Minegishi nodded.

"Yeah. They're digging Ryou's grave out there. Why don't you go out there and dig with them?" asked Minegishi. They knew that she understood more than she let on. She not have been the most articulate person but she did understand things…like how she needed to get the hell out of there and let Minegishi work.

"Mine come too. Over there." said Mukai. She tried to take Minegishi's hand. They pulled it away.

"No, Mine stays here. Mukai goes away. Right now." Said Minegishi. Mukai bit her lower lip and stomped her foot. Her aura, what little aura she had, flared there. The fern on the edge of the bathtub screeched in fear. Minegishi didn't blame it.

"Mine come too! Over there!" said Mukai. She shouted even louder…well she was only two and didn't know how to argue. Minegishi rubbed their temples. Arguing with a two year old…they were arguing with a two year old. Great. Just great.

"What did I just say, Mukai? I'm staying here…and I know that you can understand me. You can't speak but I know that you understand. I'm staying here. I have work to do. Go play with your brother or your sister or your mother or Ryou or Shibata. Hell, you could probably get Serizawa to emerge from his cave if you asked nicely enough. Just leave me be." Said Minegishi

"No! Mine come with! Over there! Now!" said Mukai. Minegishi turned to face Mukai. They towered over her…but she didn't seem to mind or care. She stood her ground. She stood her ground and clenched her little fists…apparently stubbornness was a Suzuki family trait. Well that along with the emotional instability, repressed homosexuality, explosive tempers, and just plain bizarre behavior certainly set her up for a lifetime of success and happiness now didn't it?

"Mukai…Suzuki. Go away. Right now." Said Minegishi. They pointed towards the door. Mukai shook her head 'no' and pointed at the door herself.

"Mine go now! No bath time!" said Mukai

"For the love of….Mob?! Are you around!?" called Minegishi. There was a shift in the energy around them and the sound of footsteps coming closer. Mob appeared in the doorway, her hair plastered to her head and grass stains on the knees of her bright blue leggings. She looked a mess, probably from all the outside yoga, and Minegishi knew that they weren't one to talk so they didn't.

They just pointed down at Mukai.

"Mukai, come on. Minegishi needs to do their hair. Let's go outside and make sure that Sho doesn't accidentally kill Shimazaki. How about that? You like it outside, you said so." Said Mob. She reached down and attempted to take her sister's hand but Mukai pulled away.

"Mine come too." Said Mukai

"She wants you to come too….sorry." said Mob

"Yeah, I got it. Well I have to finish this to unless you both want to watch me dye my hair I'd suggest you pick her up and carry her away." said Minegishi

"We can wait…but then you'll come outside…right?" asked Mob. There was a note of hope in her voice…or maybe Minegishi was just imagining it. Mob still wanted to spend time with them…so maybe they could move the most hair dye nap to later…

"Fine. I'll watch your brother bury Ryou alive or something." Said Minegishi

"We don't have to do that. We can do yoga or meditate, that's when you sit around and think about nothing and everything at the same time, or we could…um…garden? We could plant your new…plant…if you want." Said Mob

"Plant over there." said Mukai. She even pointed. Well at least that tantrum was averted…though now Minegishi would have to go outside in this heat…but if Mob wanted to then they wanted to, too….or at least they could pretend that they did.

"Whatever you want, Mob, whatever you want." Said Minegishi. That…may not have been the best thing to say. Mob got that look in her eyes…it wasn't the same as the one her brother and sister and father got, no, but it meant the same thing. The wheels in her head were turning. That…wasn't always a good thing.

"If we're doing whatever I want can we smoke? We haven't done that together in a while…and I promise that I'll use moderation." Said Mob. Minegishi's bracelet got caught in their hair. They gave it a tug…and lost a few strands. Great. Mob was still looking at her with hope in her eyes. Double great. Mukai was pulling the leaves off of the new bathroom fern. Triple great. All the great. This was such a great day that nothing else could possibly come along to make it any more great.

Huh. Nothing else came alone. Well what do you know?

"Mob….I thought that was what all of this yoga and meditation shit was all about. Getting you to stop smoking." Said Minegishi with a sigh.

"No, it's about smoking less. Why would I want to stop smoking? It's fun." Said Mob. Minegishi…years ago they had asked Mob to write them from rehab before they gave her a turn with their joint…and now three years later…more like four…three and a half…however many years later here they were. Now she was a twelve year old stoner…which to be fair was better than being a twelve year old alcoholic…but she shouldn't have been anything!

But she was and it was all Minegishi's fault.

"I'm not in the mood right now, alright? Now just let me get the dye in my hair and we can go and see Ryou dig himself out of his grave or whatever you guys are doing." Said Minegishi

"But…maybe you get in the-" said Mob

"Graves! Game graves! Graves games! Hair graves! Die!" said Mukai. Normally Minegishi would have rather read that manifesto Ryou forced Fukuda to write about their chest than interact with Mukai in any way….but right now they were grateful for the distraction.

"No, not 'dye' as in death. Dye as in color my hair. See? Purple here and white here." Said Minegishi as they pointed to their ends and their roots. Minegishi could practically see the wheels in Mukai's head turning.

"Yellow. Yellow purple." Said Mukai. She nodded to herself like she had made some great discovery and not just made Minegishi feel kind of shitty about the terrible job they'd done with the bleach.

"Mukai…I'm glad that you know your colors but it's not nice to point out Minegishi's roots like that." Said Mob. Mukai wasn't listening. She had pulled down a strand of her own hair now. It usually stuck up like she had put her finger in an electrical socket…which Minegishi would not have put past her actually. She pulled it down and she inspected it like she had never seen her own hair before.

"Orange." Said Mukai in that same, look what I've discovered, tone.

"Yup." Said Minegishi

"No, it's red. Red. Like Sho's…and our dad's." said Mob. She winced when she mentioned Suzuki…and Minegishi didn't get it. So her dad had cheated on her mom, it had happened and now it was over. She got a new sister and her dad fucked off to parts unknown…well Europe…and now everything was fine and everyone could live out the rest of their days digging graves in the suburbs of Tokyo without having to worry about Suzuki breathing down their necks. There…everyone had won.

Well not Mob….but she was the only one who actually like Suzuki.

"No, orange." Said Mukai. She held her hair out just so that Mob could get a better look. Well…she wasn't wrong. It was orange. Bright orange….but that natural sort of orange that people called red. She was a redheaded child. Someday she would be someone's redheaded stepchild. Right now she would have to settle for being someone's redheaded not so secret love child.

"No….it's like….um…" said Mob

"She's two, Mob, she's not going to get it. Be happy that she knows her colors now." Said Minegishi as they brushed dye into their roots. Darker was alright….but lighter looked terrible. Their hair wasn't the same color all the way through. They could see it better in the light. Thank God Mukai didn't know all the shades of purple yet.

"But…ok. Sure Mukai….it's orange….I feel bad lying to her…..I shouldn't lie to my sister." Said Mob. Minegishi shook their head.

"You're not lying. She just doesn't know the difference between red and orange when it comes to hair…and to be fair it is really weird that we call orange hair red when it's so clearly orange….so maybe this is a from the mouths of babes thing." Said Minegishi

"Maybe…but I still feeling like I'm lying to her…and I should never lie to my little sister." Said Mob. Mukai smiled and looked up.

"Lie down. Go to sleep." Said Mukai. She steepled her hands and rested her head on them like a pillow. Mob smiled and pulled her sister close. Minegishi could see the whole thing in reverse through the mirror. Those two were so cute sometimes…not that Minegishi wanted any of their own. Hell now. They could enjoy this, here, now.

It was always nice to see Mob happy.

"I love you." Said Mob as she hugged her little sister. Mukai reached over and tugged on her braid.

"Black. Orange. Purple. Yellow." Said Mukai as she tugged on Mob's braid. Mob tugged it out of her hand.

"Mukai…I love you but I can't let you tug on my hair…because it hurts me. Sometimes we don't know when we're hurting the people we love…and it's hard to admit that we hurt the people we love sometimes…but it hurts me when you pull on my braid and-" said Mob

"Want! Want that now!" said Mukai as she jumped up and tried to pull on Mob's hair.

"Mob, she understands more than you think she does…but she doesn't understand all of that." Said Minegishi

"I know…but I just…I don't know why she tugs on my braids." Said Mob

"Want! Want now!" said Mukai as she jumped up and down.

"Maybe she wants you to braid her hair. Just a thought." Said Minegishi. She really seemed to want to have her hair braided….but Minegishi wasn't sure if Mukai's hair even could be braided. She had a lot of it….but it stood straight up. There was no way to get a brush through it, that was obvious, and it was probably tangled and matted to hell. Minegishi had heard the way Mukai carried on when she had to take a bath and get her hair washed. They did not want to have to stand there and listen to Mukai carried on like she did whenever her mom messed with her hair…

But it looked like Mob was going to try so…maybe they needed to pick up some earplugs. They'd heard that they were a good investment after all….

"Um…I can try…here. Let's sit down and…um….I'll try my best. I'm not used to hair like yours so I'll try my best." Said Mob as she sat down on the bathroom floor. Mukai immediately sat down next to her and started to play with her braid. Minegishi opened up the medicine cabinet and tossed Mob their bag of hair ties and bobby pins as well as some coconut oil. If it softened skin it could soften hair…and Mukai's hair needed as much softening as it could. Seriously, had her mother never heard of conditioner?

Well, maybe.

Minegishi hadn't known about conditioner until they had been seventeen years old. To be fair they had spent their life running a bar of cheap soap through their hair. First it had been whatever they could steal from the store near their house and then afterwards it had been the cheap soap from the group home. Even after they'd gotten emancipated they hadn't been the best at taking care of themselves. No shampoo, no conditioner, cheap bar soap, and a steady diet of raw fruit and vegetables along with chips and cookies…and ice cream….and convenience store fried chicken…and orange soda….fifteen year old Minegishi hadn't been the best at taking care of themselves.

Twenty nine year old Minegishi wasn't much better.

They had been the best at it when they'd been seventeen. When they'd had someone, for the first time in their life, who could take care of them. That had been such an unbalanced relationship, Jun, well she had been older than them…and they had still been little more than a kid biologically. Emotionally they had been this amalgam of kid and adult…like they were now….only know they didn't have anyone to take care of them…they had to take care of others…and they had done a piss poor job of it…

They hadn't even set out to…

Well it didn't matter what they had and had not set out to do. Mob had been dumped into their lap like Mukai had been dumped into hers…except Mob did a better job with Mukai than Minegishi ever had. Mukai wasn't a little stoner…alcoholic…budding stoner and budding alcoholic. She was so good with Mukai…and she took such good care of herself. Mob…she had really risen to the occasion, hadn't she? She was doing better than Minegishi had ever done in their life.

Good. Good for her.

Really. Minegishi…they weren't her parent….but they wanted the same things for her that any parent would have wanted. They wanted her life to be better than their life had ever been. They wanted to see Mob grow up to be happier than they had ever been in their life…and all of that other stuff…and she was. Her life…was in some ways better and in some ways worse…than Minegishi's had been…but she was doing much better. She got up every day and she tried…even when she had as much on her plate as she did…and even when she had as much waiting to be shoveled onto her plate as she did. She just…got back up again.

Minegishi was pretty proud of Mob, actually, maybe even in that parental way.

"Um….ok. Now…you have a lot more hair than I do…and it likes to stand up so…this is the best that I could do. Sorry." said Mob. Minegishi could see…not much through this mirror…they turned around and saw…well that was something. An attempt had been made. Mukai had somehow ended up with a bun and four braids…that stuck right out the side of her head even with what looked like half a jar of coconut oil…

An attempt had been made…and a good one at that.

"I hair…hair yours! Hair do yours! Hair do Sho mama! Look! Look mama!" shouted Mukai as she got up from the floor and ran away. Mukai's little footsteps could be heard as she shouted for her mom. Well…that was good…she was happy with what she'd gotten. That was what mattered. She was happy and Mob…well Mob had a massive coconut oil stain on the front of her shirt…

Minegishi could help with that.

"You did good, Mob, especially since you don't know her hair type. Anyway go borrow one of my shirts and I'll wash that for you before that sets in." said Minegishi. They could at least help Mob with that…and not in the way that they'd helped her before. They…would never forgive themselves for that. It might have been easier to just forget their part in it, in the person Mob had become, but they had never done things the easy way. That was more of these parental feelings. Disappointment in themselves…not in Mob but in themselves….and what they had let Mob grow up to be. They…well they were in danger of ruminating on this…as they tended to do…nothing good ever came from ruminating like this…and they needed to stop…and deal with something else…like Mob's shirt or their hair…
