A/N: Welcome to my new story! This story will be a Naruto centric story, though it will crossover into the Riordanverse. I won't spoil much, but I have some pretty big plans with this story. Any jutsu's I use will mainly go back and forth between their Japanese names and their english translations, as I do not speak Japanese and won't pretend to. If you find any mistakes in my honorifics as well, then please tell me so that I can try to fix them. I will be going off of google for this, so don't get to harsh on me for those. Anywho, enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or PJO, if I did I wouldn't be writing this.

Chapter: Prologue

Heavy footsteps pounded into the ground, each step taking Naruto farther and farther away. Wind rustled his blond hair and sent leaves flying against his arms and face. His legs burned, the pain distracting him from all noise but his own breathing. Everything blurred together, like the emotions crashing around in his heart as he ran as fast as his feet could carry him. Behind him lay the village he had once been proud to call his home - until they used him and the illusion faded. Now he fled the village, thoughts and memories entering and exiting his mind just as quickly as they came.

Jiji is dead, and the only ones who care for me now are Konohamaru, Iruka-sensei, Teuchi, and Ayame, Naruto thought, holding his tears back with a mask of anger. But even those few precious people that I have are not enough to keep me safe from the hatred of all the others. Nor are they enough to keep the voices of Sakura and Ino out of my head. His hand curled into a fist as the memories filled his mind, reminding him of words he wished to erase from time.

Even though I kept my promise, she still ended up hating me. So I am done. With the Scroll of Seals in my hand and the sun setting behind me, I will learn all that I possibly can from it and will surpass even the God of Shinobi himself, Hashirama. The thoughts reminded Naruto of his goal, renewing his passion for escaping. Determinedly, he increased his speed, leaving Konohagakure in the dust.

Time Skip

The Next Day

Phew, Naruto thought, bending over and sucking in deep breaths of fresh air. Gentle rays of sunlight were starting to stream through the trees around him, reminding him he hadn't slept for nearly twenty-four hours. He examined the clearing and deemed it a suitable spot to rest. They probably didn't even realize he was gone yet, having left during the night and ran til morning.

Doesn't seem like I've been running for that long, Naruto thought. His muscles cramped suddenly, eliciting an involuntary groan from Naruto. "Scratch that," Naruto muttered as he collapsed to the ground, "it definitely feels like it's been that long." For a few moments, he just laid peacefully on the cool grass, staring at the half lit sky. After a couple half hearted attempts to rest, he sat up, and reached for the scroll he'd taken from the village.

Well, might as well take a look and see what cool jutsus I may be able to learn. Carefully, he unrolled the scroll, scanning through it for anything of interest.

"Heh, there's the Shadow Clone Jutsu," Naruto mused, a small smile flitting across his face. He skimmed through it, his eyes catching on a section he'd never noticed before.

...

Reasons for Kinjutsu Labeling

Chakra Requirement:

This technique requires the user to separate a piece of chakra from their body and give it physical form. However, the formation of the physical body of the clone requires a lot of chakra, so much that it usually takes half of the user's chakra.

Warning:

Do not use excessively if you only have jounin level chakra reserves. Do not even attempt if you have so much as a sliver less than that.

Memory Straining:

Because this technique was made for scouting, the chakra will also bring the memories from the clone to the original user. If you can somehow manage to summon hundreds of shadow clones like the Uzumaki Clan can, then do not dispel them all at once. The reason being that this will put a strain on the brain, and too much of it can cause mental damage.

Warning:

Do not dispel large groups of clones all at once. WILL cause damage to your mentality.

...

Naruto silently read the whole section, frustration growing on his face. When he reached the bottom, he turned his face to the sky.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" He shouted, the noise resounding throughout the clearing.

Kakashi was starting to grow worried. He'd decided to look for Naruto and apologize that he hadn't been there for him in the Chuunin Exams and to offer some personal training as thanks for successfully bringing back Sasuke. However despite looking for hours, he couldn't find him.

After fruitlessly searching the entire village, he sent out a missing report for the blonde, with the silver-haired jounin taking the lead in searching for him outside the village.

As he was heading back into the village to mark off another area for the rest of the search parties, he heard a shout from far away, yet it sounded like it was right next to him.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"

It sounded suspiciously like the very person he was looking for. He couldn't pinpoint where the shout came from, so he decided to check the area one more time.

Meanwhile, the young blond was staring angrily at the scroll. Naruto's hand curled into a fist and pounded the ground in frustration.

"Damn them! I know that either the old man or Kakashi sensei knew this jutsu along with the perk, maybe even both of them, and yet neither said anything to me."

Naruto realized his hold on the scroll was tight and starting to crumple it, so he took a minute to calm down, relaxing all his muscles before continuing reading.

"Exploding Clone Jutsu, further advancement of Shadow Clones but requires a little more chakra to achieve. Instead of the clones being dispelled harmlessly when punched, they will cause an explosion."

Naruto's face grew thoughtful as he pondered the jutsu. After deciding to come back to this version later, he started reading several more sections. Eventually, he came to the conclusion that the jutsus seemed to get more and more interesting and powerful the further he read. Unfortunately, there were a lot of things in the scroll but no table of contents or anything like it to help guide him through it. There were seals upon seals in here, with the occasional kinjutsu thrown in there, seemingly never ending.

Eventually, the blonde decided to just try and find the end of the scroll, which should be the most powerful thing in there, and then possibly work his way back up. He rapidly unrolled the scroll, his hand growing tired with the constant motions. Finally, just as he thought his hand would fall off, he reached the end and began skimming through the last section of writing. He noticed that most of the writing was something called Space-Time Seals and even some Space-Time Jutsus.

After a bit, he came across the Dimensional Transportation Jutsu.

...

Dimensional Transportation Jutsu

This jutsu will randomly select another dimension/reality to transport the user to. This is a two part jutsu, as it requires two different sets of hand signs so that you can return back to your original dimension/reality.

...

This seems like something I need right now. Naruto thought, scanning the page and learning the hand signs required to set a 'beacon,' as the scroll called it, in his dimension so that he could later return if he so chose. I know that I will eventually be found in this dimension and that might happen before I am powerful enough to protect myself. Once he had memorized the first set of hand signs, he continued reading. However, before learning the hand signs required to actually transport himself to another dimension, he realized he should probably read the kinjutsu reasons. Just in case.

...

Reasons for Kinjutsu Labeling

Chakra Requirement:

This jutsu requires a significant amount of chakra, roughly the amount of the Ichibi, in order to properly execute so that you may shield yourself from the Void.

Warning:

If you don't have enough chakra, you will end up being torn to shreds by the Void, the space between realities/dimensions.

...

NO! Naruto thought. I was THIS close to being able to leave. I don't have that much chakra, and I am sure the Kyuubi wouldn't help me with this.

Apparently the beast heard him, as Naruto found himself pulled into his mindscape in front of the cage holding the Kyuubi.

So the little kit decided to run away from his home. The Kyuubi said with a bit of humor in it's deep voice. Before Naruto could say anything, the Kyuubi laughed. I thought you wanted to become the Hokage one day! How will you ever achieve that when you are now branded a traitor?

Naruto stared sadly back up at the fox. "How would I have become Hokage in a village filled with people who don't want or like me?"

The fox's smirk seemed to drop a little, although Naruto might have imagined it.

So you finally woke up to reality, eh?

The Kyuubi was met with silence from the unusually quiet blonde.

You did always seem to be less dumb than others made you out to be, or more accurately, less dumb than you let others see. So tell me, what are you going to do now? Surely you won't attempt this new jutsu you found, will you? You could end up in a world where you instantly die.

Naruto just looked at the beast blankly, as if it should already know the answer to that question.

"Anywhere would be better than here. A chance to leave this hell hole is better than no chance at all. Tell me, if you had a chance at leaving this prison of yours, wouldn't you take it?"

The kit makes a point, Kyuubi thought to itself.

Fair point, it says with a shrug.

"How about I make you a deal, fox. With both of our chakra pools we should be able to manage well enough to recover. You help me use this jutsu, and I'll see what I can do about this area here."

Naruto's face scrunched in confusion as the fox began to visibly shake, but as he heard the sound of soft laughter, his confusion turned to frustration. Eventually, the quiet laughter grew to a hysterical level, and the fox seemed to almost want to roll around on the floor to let it all out.

You have some guts there, kit. Not many would try to make a deal with a bijuu. Tell you what, I'll help you.

Naruto opened his mouth to either curse the fox for laughing or thank it, but was interrupted with a warning before he could say anything.

However, do not think that this means we are on good terms. I only wish to do this because I do not want to be forced back as a weapon to that disgusting village of yours.

Naruto nodded in understanding, as he had not expected to make friends with the bijuu so quickly.

Well? What are you waiting for? Some kind of pep talk? Go! Do your part and I'll provide the chakra needed.

And with that, Naruto was blasted out of his own mindscape and slammed back to reality, where it seemed no time had passed.

Where We Left Off

Alright fox, Naruto thought both to himself and to the beast within him. The beacon needed to come back once he was strong enough stood in front of him, freshly created (though invisible to anyone else but Naruto). Time to make good on that word of yours and spare some chakra.

No words were needed from the Kyuubi, as Naruto felt its chakra enter and mix with his own as he made the hand signs needed to use the transportation jutsu. Little did he know that the massive chakra output had garnered the attention of every chakra-sensing shinobi nearby. Unfortunately for the young blonde, this included his soon-to-be-former sensei, Kakashi Hatake.

This chakra, the aforementioned sensei thought. I need to get there fast before Naruto lets the Kyuubi loose!

He started rushing to the area where he sensed the chakra outbreak, hellbent on getting there before any serious damage was done to Naruto.

However, oddly enough, once he arrived the sight greeting him was only a frustrated blonde holding the Scroll of Seals and cursing.

"Damn it!" Naruto yelled, unaware of the one-eyed ninja watching him. "Why didn't you work! I did the seals correctly and everything! You even managed to knock the furball out with the amount of chakra you took!"

As Naruto stood cursing at the scroll, Kakashi jumped down from his perch in the trees and made himself known to the blonde, which was likely his first mistake.

"Now, now, Naruto. No need to fret over whatever it is you are mad about."

The blonde whirled around, his eyes widening as they landed on the grey-haired ninja.

"What are you doing here, Kakashi?" Naruto asked as he jumped away, his frustration seeming to grow, though Kakashi couldn't tell why.

"Well, I'm here to take you back. Why else would I be here?" The scarecrow asks rhetorically, tilting his head with a smile and sliding his hands into his pockets.

"Well, I'm not going back. I am not going back to continue being a weapon that will get thrown aside the first chance the village gets." The heated words earned a look of surprise from Kakashi, and he grew more tense and serious, seemingly aware of something the blonde wasn't. Naruto ignored this and continued.

"I was always hated in that stupid village, just because I held this overgrown furball in my stomach! Now, when I do the best thing I could possibly do for this village by bringing back their precious Uchiha, I get even more sneers and comments about how I hurt him to do so!"

"Now, now, Naruto. I think you may need to calm down." Now Kakashi wasn't saying this because Naruto was leaking Kyuubi's chakra in anger, as might be expected. You see, during the conversation, Naruto was slowly growing more and more transparent. Kakashi seemed to have put two and two together and realized that Naruto's anger was making him disappear faster as time progressed. Unfortunately for him, he was too late.

"No!" Naruto yelled, closing his eyes in passion. "I'm never going back!"

Naruto was met with pure silence, and as he opened his eyes to investigate, he found himself in a large room with twelve large people, seated around him.

"Never going back to where?" One of the females asked.

CREDITS: Special thanks and credits to Elnarya for looking over and being the beta for this chapter! You seriously helped to make this prologue so much better than how I had originally wrote it! For all those reading this, I highly recommend you go check their account out and give them all the love you can!

AN: Welp, there you go! I hope you enjoyed reading this chapter! Highschool has been bearing down on me recently as I made the mistake of going for all advanced classes and a college class, as well as taking band. Now that marching band season is over, I should have more time, but we'll see once Thanksgiving break is over just how much time concert band season will take. I will be taking a while to write the next chapter as well, as I want to make it longer than this prologue. Anywho, enough with the boring stuff.

I'll see y'all in the next chapter!
