Hey guys! Sorry I don't get to write much! I thought of this and wanted to try it out! The concept is sorta just Jaune in a fantasy world of my own making! Let me know if you wanna see more! I know its short but it's just me testing the waters. And please don't be too harsh! :P
The New World 1
The echoes of the words still rang through my head, the noises flush with the sounds of the room, I could only stare ahead as all the nerves in my body went numb.
"Mr. Arc? Do you understand?" Ozpin said to me. His voice was level as he spoke, the words sliced my pride to ribbons.
I stared at him and spoke, the soft whimpering words were almost noiseless. and they hurt as I spoke them.
"Please don't do this, Professor. Please." I said as a low sob, the sounds were pathetic.
"Mr. Arc, I don't want to do this, I have to. I knew about your transcripts and I was content to let you stay here, but then the council got wind of it by an anonymous source. And I was able to negotiate expulsion rather than jail-time." He said as he pinched his nose and I could see a redness in his eyes.
"I have grown quite fond of you and your sister team. This hurts me to say, but I must expel you, Mr. Arc. Effective immediately you are once more a civilian." The sounds of his strained voice was enough to force me back and I looked away.
"Pack your things, Mr. Arc. You have what is left of today to say goodbye. Attend classes even if you wish, but I must warn you, the student body already knows all of the details, something about one Mr. Winchester during lunch." Ozpin spoke out as he stood. His eyes focused on the ground, the sound of the ticking clock of his office matching the rhythm of my heart.
"I'm sorry, Professor." I said as I slowly stepped of the office, the heels of my boots clicked and clattered as I stepped across the glass, the echoes fading as I did.
The walk back to my dorm was rough, the stares of every student followed me the whole way, wondering what the 'Cheater' was going to do. Their judgement had already been levied, my fate with them was decided. My hand reached for the doorknob of my dorm and I could hear the sobs of Pyhrra, slowly crying out the sorrow of the truth, she had accepted me and offered to train me, but I left, I abandoned her...
...and now that abandonment was permanent.
"Arc, I always knew that you were scum, beneath the boots of everyone here." I heard a voice speak in a satisfied tone. and I looked up. My eyes fixed with the cold stare of the bird on the breastplate of my worst enemy.
"You won, Cardin, are you happy?! I lost everything, all of my friends." I said and stared back at him.
In that second, I learned something important about courage. It was easy to have when you had nothing left. And it was even easier to be tough when you were furious.
"Oh, I'm happy, Jauney Boy, see now I get to set my sights on others, no knight in shining armor, and maybe I'll get that nice redhead, maybe both." Cardin said softly as he leaned closer and I clenched my fist.
'Calm! Calm down, Jaune!' I thought as I looked down, a single tear streaking my cheek.
"Aw, no more words? You finally done, Arc?" Cardin said, his words echoing in the halls as his voice rose attracting more attention, student had come to watch the cheater of the school get thrashed.
"Cardin, just let me walk away please." I said and looked up at him.
"You crying, Jaune? What sort of hero are you?" He asked sarcastically as he leaned in, then I grit my teeth.
'Fuck calm.' I thought, and he leaned in a little bit more. Then I realized I had spoken out loud.
I unclenched my fist and looked at Cardin in the eye.
"What was that, Jauney boy?" Cardin asked softly and I looked up into his eyes and the words fell from my mouth.
"I said, 'Fuck you, Cardin." My words seethed out with venom.
He looked me in the eye and grinned as he reared back his fist.
"Try not to die Jauney." He said and then he slammed his fist into my face, blood poured from my nose and dripped into my mouth.
I could taste blood in my mouth, but as I stood I took a novice boxer's stance. My fists shook and I coughed.
"That all you got?" I asked as a gargle as I held the blood in my mouth and he dashed at me, I quickly leaned in and spit the blood out on his face. He scrambled to wipe it but the congealed blood blinded him and burned his eyes.
I smiled and slammed my foot against the side of his knee with a harsh stomp. Then my elbow collided with the side of his face.
"Hard to fight an opponent you can't see, eh?" I said roughly and threw a forward stomp at his calf. I heard it pop out of place and he groaned. I coughed and took a few steps back.
Blood dripped down my face as I looked at him, it was hard to breath, but then Cardin stood up, his eyes now cleaned. And a feral grin was on his face, his aura flared and I watched as he dashed at me but I wasn't fast enough to react, he grabbed me with one hand and slammed me against the wall, my aura protected me barely but as soon as one round of punches ended another began. I grabbed his face as his hands moved and started choking me, my thumbs found his eyes and started to push in. His grip loosened when a familiar javelin pinned me to the wall and Cardin was ripped backwards by an unknown force.
There I saw a very pissed off Pyhrra, surrounded by my team, my former team.
"Jaune, what the hell is going on here?" I heard Yang ask as she stepped through the crowd of people. I looked at Cardin and cared very little for what RWBY and my team thought. Right now I just wanted to feel anything besides the fear and sorrow of being expelled.
"I'm ending this bullshit, all of the bullying, I'm done, I'm going to beat him!" I said and they looked at me as I dashed at Cardin and slammed him against a window, then it shattered and we both were sent flying out of it.
Our bodies both landed with a harsh thud, the ground forced the air from both of us, the cold biting air stung our faces and I looked at the man I hated and his eyes bore right into my soul.
"Cardin, all of this shit is done, I'm done. There's no weapons here, I'm not fighting you as a huntsman, I'm fighting you as me, Jaune Arc. I'm fighting you as the, cheating, lying, piece of shit that I am. And I'm going to kick your ass like that because regardless, I hate you. And someone like me is infinitely better than someone who would prey on the weak like you." I stood to my full height and he dashed at me quickly, his fist colliding with my chest and sending me flying.
Blood filled my mouth, and I knew what it was. We were leagues apart, Cardin would have no trouble killing me as a huntsman. But I'm not a huntsman, I'm just some guy, just a fluke. So no more of the huntsman shit.
I roared and slammed my fist into the side of his knee, using my aura I pierced his, I heard the dislocation easily, then I pushed and slammed him into the dirt, my hand felt for a rock, I picked it up and slammed it into his head, the piece of stone shattered from the force. But I saw a spatter of blood from Cardin, his teeth were as red as mine now.
His hands reached up and gripped my neck and spun, he slammed me down onto my back and I heard him yell.
"You are not better than me Arc!" He screamed and slammed his fist into my face, I roared and grabbed his hair and tore out a chunk of his scalp.
"Enough!" A voice boomed and sent both of us flying.
My body slammed against a tree and spun until I hit the ground and I saw that Cardin was sent skittering away. I felt the blood run down my face again and I stared at Goodwitch who had just used her semblance.
"Why are you two trying to kill each other?! One of you is a huntsman in training, and one should know better." She yelled at us her words cutting me and I crawled to my knees.
I stood and Goodwitch looked at me and spoke, her words cut me like a knife.
"Jaune, go to your dorm, now!" Her raised voice hit me and I looked down. I stepped through the crowd of students and walked to my room, and in front of it was RWBY and my team.
I immediately looked at Pyhrra and looked down, the shame heavy on me.
"Jaune, please look at me." She said, her voice as gentle as ever.
"I know this all seems terrible, but I am proud of you, I am so glad that I met you. I am glad we had you as our leader." Her words were almost a whisper as she hugged me and I saw Ren and Nora smile at me.
"But I don't know how to go on without you guys." I said and she smiled.
"You don't have to, you can always call and text us, and if there is ever an emergency, you can call for us and we will be there to help you." She said and I nodded against the crook of her neck and I felt her hand up and down my back.
"Thank you guys, all of you." I said and Ruby hugged me and I laughed, my hoarse voice echoing slightly in the empty hall.
I stepped into the dorm room and eventually the night came and went, hours of fun and laughter, a final goodbye that I hadn't known yet.
At the close of the night I stood and checked the clock, it would be less painful for them this way, they shouldn't have to see me leave. They shouldn't have to cry for my sake.
I gripped the knob of the door and stepped out with my bag in hand. The blood in my veins felt cold, like I couldn't get warm. I stepped out of the dorm hall and moved past the statue of my ancestor, the weapon he wielded, nested firmly on my back.
My feet carried me the whole way, the distance felt like it took hours, my eyes roving over every inch of this place. The polished marble surfaces and the moons light made it seem like a palace.
"End of the line, I guess." I said as I stepped on the bullhead, the shuttle doors shut and the pilot asked.
"Where to kid?" I looked at him and spoke, my voice low.
"Altala, east of Patch." He nodded and I felt the aircraft move, my hand fell to a bottle of motion sickness meds and I downed two of them.
I leaned back and the weight of what was happening hit me, I was done, I will never be a huntsman.
The flight was set to be four hours, but before we got to the hour mark, the pilot's voice boomed to life.
"Kid! We've got nevermores after us, brace yourself!" He yelled and the bullhead was slammed by a massive weight.
The hull of the aircraft was torn and I saw a massive beak pierce it, then it roared an ear rupturing shriek.
"Kid, we're going down! Once we hit the ground we gotta make a break for tree cover, I'd take beowulfs over nevermores." He yelled at me and I gripped the railings. My knuckles went white from the force of my grip and I felt the bullhead slam into the ground and I was slammed into the wall and my vision went grey.
When my eyes cleared, I stood and raced to the pilot.
"Hey, you still alive?!" I yelled and tried to pry the door open.
"Yeah! I'm still kicking, the door is fucked though, I'm gonna have to bust the canopy! Get to the front of the bullhead and clear the beowulfs." He yelled through the door and I moved to the shuttle doors and tore them open.
As I raced to the front I heard a gunshot and sped up, the beowulfs were already climbing the bulhead and the pilot had killed two with headshots.
"I got you!" I yelled and slammed into one, then I drew my sword and shield, the monster slammed into me and I was forced back as he climbed down, then I stabbed through it's neck as it spun to attack the pilot again.
"Get behind me!" I yelled and he put his gun over my left shoulder and I grounded myself with my shield as a Beowulf struck, the claws scraped the metal and sparks flew burning my flesh.
I could feel the sweat on my brow run down the side of my face, I grit my teeth and slashed the Beowulf with my sword, the edge cutting with ease, I slammed my shield against the hide of the beast and forced it back.
The pilot behind me aimed his pistol and fired, the bullet tore through a grimm's head and I was forced back a step as another Beowulf piled on my shield.
"I'm gonna feint this next attack! When they charge, dodge to the side!" I yelled and pushed harder against the grimm.
"Dodge!" I yelled and the pilot jumped out of the path of the beowolves, I stepped aside and they lost their balance.
Seeing the advantage, I stepped forward and stabbed one in the back and ripped the blade out to decapitate it. The blade cut cleanly and the head fell to the ground, but there was no celebration as I stepped forward quickly and slashed at the second grimm, the edge cut in deeply and stopped, the bone plate held the blade firmly as the beast lumbered and turned around. As its blood red eyes made contact with mine, a single bullet ripped through it's head and the beast fell down dead.
"Thanks." I said and ripped my blade out of the side of the downed grimm.
"Shit, we're in deep here kid, this is grimm territory." The pilot spoke and I looked at him.
"I'm Jaune, what's your name?" I said as we moved together through the forest.
"Everyone calls me T.C. But my full name is Thomas Charles." He said and I nodded, my eyes roved the forest.
Growls rang out through the forest and I looked around, dozens of pairs of red eyes shined through the darkness.
"T.C! We gotta go!" I yelled and he holstered his pistol and we broke into a dead sprint as the beowolves charged at us.
Their jaws gnashed and I slashed through one, the beast fell apart as a heap on the ground before disappearing. Our feet kept racing across the forest floor, the beasts attacked ceaselessly.
My blood boiled and my veins felt like they were pumping acid. The strain of running and fighting was wearing me down.
We sprinted as fast as we could, then we came to a clearing, our eyes fell on a massive boulder with a sword sheathed in the top.
"Get on the rock! We'll hold them there!" I yelled and climbed quickly and dragged TC up with me.
"They just keep coming!" He yelled and fired a few more rounds before drawing his knife and slashed one's throat and kicked it down.
"Climb higher!" I yelled and was forced up more as the grimm attacked. My jaw clenched and my whole body felt like it would fall apart.
I felt claws tear into my aura and then pierce it, the edges of the claws stabbed into my leg, and blood ran down the wounded flesh.
My other leg gave and I was forced backwards, blood dripped across the stone and I slashed at a grimm only for my sword to be knocked away. The hand that once held my sword was crushed beneath a massive paw.
"Ah! Fuck!" I yelled as the beast slammed its other paw into my chest and I coughed and spat blood. Next to me, TC was slashing through the grimm with his knife, the blade gleaming under the moonlight as the gnashing claws and teeth fought against us.
"TC! Fuck! What do we do?" I asked and he turned to me and then a claw ripped through his side and he crumbled. His body fell to the ground and I was left to watch the grimm bite into his shoulder as he screamed.
"NO! TC!" I yelled as my aura flared back to life for just a second, then my hand fell to the sword in the stone.
The light of my aura wrapped around the blade as I drew it, the edge sang and I yelled as I slashed through a grimm, then I tore through the next one. I kept fighting, pushing them away from TC, my blood felt like it was burning me from the inside.
Soft droplets of rain hit me until they grew stronger, the droplets pelting my skin as I screamed with each slash, the blade chipped and snapped, and as it broke I changed the way I fought until I was fighting with it as a dagger.
I yelled as they surrounded again, my aura flared up, the water sizzled on my skin as I looked around, the darkness of the night made them look especially monstrous. My hands gripped one and I stabbed the Beowulf through its skull the ashes of its body flew into the sky quickly as I roared again.
My aura spread across the dirt, hitting the water and the rain, making it sizzle and crackle as it hit, the water burst into pure white flames. The grimm were forced back and I roared as the world around TC and I was set ablaze.
As ashes fell around me, I could hear TC speaking softly, his words were faint but I could make out the prayer that was falling from his lips, the words a small comfort on the dying man.
"TC! C'mon we gotta go!" I yelled and pulled him to stand, and put his arm around my shoulders, blood dripped down his torso, making his armor glean sickeningly.
My ruined arm dangled on my right side as I dragged TC to a nearby tree, then the stone behind us began to glow brightly, the sword on top of it shined like a beacon.
"C'mon TC! We've gotta go!" I yelled and dragged him farther but I was too slow, a shockwave ripped through the air and slammed into us. Both of us were sent flying and the concussive force made the collision with a tree tear the air from my lungs.
I watched as sphere of energy expanded, burning and scorching the grass, the dirt turned to glass and electric currents shifted along the edge of the radius.
"TC! Get up!" I yelled again and he remained motionless on the ground, a pool of blood spreading under him.
I stood slowly on shaky legs, fighting against the harsh weight of my own body, I looked down and saw the chunk of a root that had torn through my side, blood dripped slowly and I hobbled to TC.
Then just as I was getting close, the radius of the stone expanded and the world faded into white.
NARRATOR'S POV
Aya had always been a quiet girl, cursed with visions of a desperate future, haunted by a wave of oncoming destruction. But on this day she met not death nor destruction, rather she met a boy, Jaune Arc.
Aya strolled through the village of Gavelhaven, the small town center was bustling with life. People spoke and chattered as the birds sailed over head, the echoes of the sounds of glee reverberated through the valley, sounds of harmony were raucous and filled the ears of many.
But deep, past the edge of the city, walked young Aya, her short brown hair and her blueish grey eyes shined as she stepped past the boundary that the elders of the town had established. Her feet crunched the dead leaves that had rested themselves at the forest floor. A curse sat upon the head of the young girl, dreams of a future that would pass, one that she could not stop. An oncoming wave of destruction that would wipe away the world of man. But within the last dream she had, there was a glimmer of hope, a boy with blond hair, and a spark within the darkness and the rain.

JAUNE'S POV
My eyes snapped open and I looked around the forest clearing, the ashes of the stone that had exploded sat a few feet away from me, and near that was TC, his body lying still.
"TC! Shit!" I got up on my shaky legs and walked to TC, my fingers felt for a pulse and found a soft movement from his carotid artery.
"It's faint but it'll have to be enough." I said to myself, my voice shaking and unsteady.
I lifted TC up and pulled him over my shoulder, my ruined leg could barely hold us and I forced it to lock as I slowly carried through the woods to a break in the treeline that I could see, inside the forest, the cracking of twigs could be heard and the echoes of animals sounded. I pushed my body harder and the skin of my arms burned as I exerted the muscles under them.
"Fuck! C'mon T.C! Wake up!" I yelled and moved fasterm then I broke through the treeline, my body sliding on the ground and falling down the slope of a hill, the rocks left my body littered with cuts. I took most of the brunt of the damage, the back of my shirt was torn as I carried T.C and as I moved further I saw a trail, and a girl with dark brown hair, blue eyes, and I felt some familiarity, but it faded as quickly as it came. With it, my consciousness left me as well.
