Episode 75: The Potato Incident
PROLOGUE: WHERE'S SAM?
After the raid of his business, Sam and Gertie went into hiding as part of Sam's deal with the FBI. He was one of two key witnesses; the other was being kept a secret as it was a girl who was part of one of the gangs involved in the confrontation years ago that had happened at Sam's place. The feds weren't revealing this girl's identity, as her life was in more danger than Sam's himself, as the Scorpion made a hit on her and her mother. They had both disappeared, presumably into Witness Protection.
But the Scorpion's main focus, for now, wasn't on the girl from those years ago; it was on the whereabouts of Sam and Gertie. He had heard about what went down at Sam's place and was worried that Sam would tell the authorities about what his gang was doing. One of his top henchmen was on the phone with the Scorpion, who was still a mystery to most folks.
"Still no word on where Sam is, boss," he said to the Scorpion on the phone.
"You're keeping watch over the junkyard, right?" asked the Scorpion.
"Yep, from a distance, like you said."
"Good. Sam needs to turn up sooner or later. When you DO see him, I want to be the first to know! Understood?"
"You got it, boss."
"I'll be in touch." And the henchman hung up the phone and kept a close eye on the salvage yard, which now had police tape around it and was closed for business pending further investigation.
