Prologue

Sonic and Shadow, in their super forms, stared in a mixture of anger, terror, and awe as the Meterex planet egg started letting out its energy, sending out a sense of danger to the two ships that were nearby that were inhabited with Sonic's friends and Dr. Eggman and his robots. Sonic straightened up, frowning at the energy explosion that threatened to harm the organic lifeforms.

"If the planet egg let's out all its energy, the others won't have enough time to get away." He shouted half to himself and half to Shadow. "I have to move! Chaos…!"

But just as Sonic was about to say Control, Shadow quickly shot towards him and roughly punched him in the stomach, knocking him out and sending him down screaming. He smirked a half concern smile.

"Sorry friend, but I'm taking over." He said as he took off his inhibitor rings. "After all, we wouldn't want you to hurt yourself, now would we?"

With that, Shadow held his hand up, sending all of his energy to the palm to create the most powerful attack he's ever made since he helped Sonic defeat the Biolizard.

"CHAOS… CONTROL!!!"

The power of the attack caused the planet egg to finally crack and explode. The problem was that the two hedgehogs were still way too close to it. The force of the blast smacked on top of them, forcing them back flying through space, unable to stop. They screamed as they flew at ground breaking speed, having no idea of where they were going or when they would stop.

After what felt like hours, the two hedgehogs, who were now starting to lose their super forms, felt themselves passing through the atmosphere of a planet. They felt a gravitational pull forcing them to move faster downward towards whatever ground they would crash land on.

What they weren't expecting though, was to crash land straight into a body of deep, salty, water.

"Hey, what just happened?!" Vector shouted in confusion as he stared out the window of the X Tornado into an empty black void.

"Where's Sonic and Shadow?" Charmy asked.

'They're gone.' Dr. Eggman thought silently, frowning at the darkness, missing of two very well known hedgehogs.
