At first, Void Knight wasn't sure what to make of the new arrival in his base. But then he relized he now had a leverage over the rangers! He could get them to hand over the sporix they had collected…in exchange for the black ranger's life! Oh, it was the perfect plan! He would be able to take advantage of the ranger's loyalty to one another and crush them with it! He glanced down at the unconscious figure that was currently held in an old cage that he had found. He wished he could just use that morpher of his to get the Sporix himself, but there appeared to be some sort of barrier protecting it. No matter. It would be more fun this way. He laughed evilly and walked over to contact the rangers.

"any luck so far?" Izzy asked solon for what seemed like the hundredth time
"the answer I'm afraid is still no" solon said sadly as she continued to type on the keyboard, izzy let out a frustrated sigh and continued to pace the base
"don't worry Izzy, we'll get your brother back" Ollie said trying to smile reassuringly, but deep down he felt as worried as Izzy. They might have only known Javi for a few weeks, but since they were rangers, it was hard for them to imagine what was happening to him right now.
"I know, it's just that...he's my brother. we've known each other for years and always had each other's backs." Izzy sighed again
"at least we know that Solon's protection works," Amelia piped up, after her whole 'bad luck' debacle, Solon had managed to create a program that prevented void knight, Boomtower or any Sporix beast from getting their hands on their Morphers.
Suddenly the table in the centre of the base began to flash red
"what's going on Solon?" Amelia asked worriedly "is it a sporix beast?"
"Fortunately no, but someone is trying to communicate with us" Solon said walking over to the table
"should we answer it?" Ollie wondered
"maybe. But it could also be a trap" Zayto said carefully
"but it could also have a lead to where my brother is!" Izzy added and the team shared a worried glance
"it's a risk we should take" Zayto said after a few moments of silence "play the transmission solon" Solon immediately tapped the screen and the image of Void Knight was displayed.
"about time you answered. I was starting to think no one was home!" he laughed
"what do you want Void Knight?" Amelia growled at him
"nah, ah, ah! You should watched how to talk to me, especially since I have your little friend"
"Javi?! What have you done with him!" Izzy yelled at him, fuming
"oh, him? Nothing. In fact, he's taking a nap!" Void Knight stepped to the side to reveal an unconscious Javi to the team
"what do you want Void Knight?" Zayto asked, trying to keep his voice even to mask the rage he had. He had already lost his old teammates, he would not lose one of his new ones. Not after they had done so much for him
"simple, I spare his life. And you give me the sporix you've collected"
"no way!" the words fell out of Zayto's mouth before he could stop them
"are you sure?" Void Knight taunted and lifted Javi's head with his sword "because, in one simple motion, the black ranger could loose his life." The team shared uneasy glances at each other "I can see that you need time to decide. I will give you until 12 o'colck tomorrow, IF you make the right choice and give me the sporix, meet me in Greenly woods. DON'T BE LATE!" he warned before signing off. The rangers and solon stared at the empty screen before staring at each other.

Once he turned off his video with the rangers, void knight laughed. He couldn't believe how easy it was to bargain with them. Of course, he didn't fully intend to keep his word about giving them back their team mate, once they handed him their sporix, he would let Boomtower have his revenge and take out the ranger! It would break the ranger's spirts to know that one of their own had died in his hands, not to mention it would give him access to a zord that he could use with his own, once it was completed of course.
He walked passed the unconscious Javi to his room, only pausing to look at the machine where he stored the sporix he had collected. If the ranger's made the right choice, he would be one step closer to his goal.

"what are we supposed to do?" Amelia asked as she leaned against the console and watched Zayto pace around the base
"I am unsure. we cannot let void knight get his hands on the sporix, but we cannot allow Javi to get hurt" Zayto answered carefully
"this is like one of those impossible choices in 'choose your own adventure games'" Ollie added "whichever one we choose, we lose"
Izzy didn't say a word from her position on the floor when her phone suddenly buzzed and she glanced at it to see her father was calling "not now" she groaned
'what's wrong Izzy?" Amelia said concerned, getting the attention of their other teammates
"its my dad" Izzy sighed before answering "hey dad...no I haven't seen Javi...you know he never answers whenever you text him...yes dad...I will...ok, see you soon"
"what did your dad want?" Ollie asked once Izzy hung up
"my dad said that Javi and I have to be home in 5 minutes. How do I explain what happened to Javi?!"
"this is a problem. We cannot allow anyone else know that Javi is missing. Especially your father" Zayto said thoughtfully
"you could say that he's with me. You can say that the both of us are working on an article together and he needed to stay the night" Amelia suggested
"maybe, the only problem is that my dad hates you. No offence" Izzy said the last part quickly
"none taken. But its the only way we can explain why Javi isn't with you. I know for a fact that your dad is tired of always coming over to my house to remind me of the restrictions"
"I guess it could work," Izzy said after a few moments to think "ok, take Javi's phone and whatever you do. Don't answer if my dad calls. and don't answer any texts from him either."
"got it" Amelia said with a nod and grabbed Javi's phone
"I'll tell you about it later" Izzy said and teleported out of the base
