Vi couldn't see anything, when she woke up. She didn't know where she was, or how she got here. The girl was robbed of all her senses.
Then, suddenly a blinding light. She squinted her eyes in a fruitless effort of easing the pain, but to no avail. The white, blinding light burnt her eyes, in the time they took to adjust to the sudden influx.
"Welcome, big Sis!" a voice within the light screamed.
Vi couldn't make out a thing but a silhouette, dancing in the light. Although the silhouette looked familiar.
"P… Powder?" Vi asked, still squinting her eyes.
"Close one, sis!" Suddenly, a face jumped into her view. It was powder, smiling from ear to ear. It took ages, but now Vi managed to identify her surroundings completely and finally got to see just where she was.
It was the old factory of Silco. The one where she saw Powder for the last time. She remembered this building. How could she ever forget what happened here? What she lost here? But apart from that, she managed to see the rest of the room she was sitting in as well.
Vi was sitting at a table, amidst the rubble. To the right of her seat were… Recreations of Milo and Claggor? My goodness… Powder… What happened to you?
She wanted to stand up, and get a closer look, but quickly realized that her hands and feet were tied to the chair she was sitting on. She tried her best to rip them off, but she had no luck. The restraints wouldn't budge.
"Now, let me introduce our second guest! My dear father, Silco!" her voice sounded so cheerful, it made Vi sick.
The blue haired girl jumped over to the other side of the table, and turned another chair around. In it, sat a man, Vi could never forget. Silco. The man that took her father, her friends and even her sister. But, even if she hated his guts, right now, he was in a very similar position to herself. Strapped in a chair, unable to move freely.
"Jinx?! What is the meaning of all of this?!" He demanded to know, with a slight sliver of fear in his voice.
"Don't worry, dad. It'll all make more sense, once I introduce our final guest for tonight." She said with a smirk. Silco just looked more confused.
Jinx turned back to Vi, and walked over, while letting her fingers run across the table and humming a tune her sister didn't recognize. Her smile grew larger the closer she came towards the other girl. She walked right past her sister while giggling.
"Jinx!" Silco screamed. "Let me go!"
But she ignored him. Just walked behind Vi, and picked up something. It was out of view, but the tied up girl could make out metal clinking behind her.
"You know," Jinx started. "I paid your friend a visit this morning. You know who. Your Cupcake."
Vi's heart felt like it would fall into a bottomless pit. No... She thought. Not her... Please. Not Caitlyn... Her stomach turned on its head. And once she saw just what Jinx held in her hands, she got nauseous in an instant.
It was a silver platter, with a silver cover on top. Vi's thoughts ran wild. Just what the fuck was under that cover? How crazy is Powder now? Vi's hands got sweaty, and she got increasingly nervous, while frantically trying to free herself from the shackles. Her heart started racing faster and faster and it felt like it was about to burst! She could feel tears running down her cheeks and once Jinx touched the handle, on top of the cover, she couldn't bear it anymore. She turned away, hoping for a miracle. Hoping that that beneath that cover wasn't what she thought.
"Jinx…" Vi heard Silco's voice echoing through the room. It sounded… shocked. What could shock a mobster boss like him?
"Come on sis, no need to be shy.", Jinx said with a kind of carelessness in her voice, that filled Vi with even more fear.
She slowly but surely turned her head back towards the table, and made eyes with what was under the silver cover.
She wanted to puke. She wanted to scream. She wanted to cry, punch, rage, all at the same time, and yet all she could do was sit there and watch in horror. As beneath that clean, silver cover, was the separated head of her so beloved friend and secret crush, Caitlyn.
Her head had its eyes closed, and from an angle, even looked peaceful. No scars or wounds were to be seen on her face, and even her hair was calmly resting on the silver platter. Jinx didn't just throw it on there, that much was clear. She placed it in that specific way on purpose.
"Jinx… What have you done?" Silco asked under his breath. But his beloved daughter ignored him.
Instead, she threw one of her legs up, and sat down on Vi's lap. The young girl leaned against her sister, who still felt like her whole world had suddenly been ripped apart. It's the same feeling she felt back when she lost her friends as a kid, at this very same place.
"Don't worry. I didn't torture her." Jinx started. "Much."
Vi's stare snapped towards her sister's eyes. Tortured?! She thought in panic. Her mind, unable to put the pieces together, and realize just what this all means. Caitlyn… Cupcake… She was gone.
"Ahh, don't worry! I didn't do much, hehe.", Jinx giggled, while jumping up from her sister's lap. The girl danced around Vi's chair, who's look moved back towards Caitlyn's head on the table.
"Just, you know… She stole you from me. And stealing is bad! Right? Especially people! So, I did the only logical thing-" she forced herself into Vi's field of view and took in a thinking pose. "I cut her fingers off one by one, so she could never steal from me again!"
Vi fell into a tantrum of pure rage. She rumbled in her chair with all her might, even almost knocking it over. The restraints cut deeper and deeper into the wrists of the tied up girl and she could soon feel something running down her skin. Blood. Vi ripped open the upper layer of her skin with her desperate attempts to free herself. But she couldn't feel the pain from the wounds. It was overshadowed by the pain she felt in her heart.
"LET ME GO!", she demanded with a crying scream. She didn't even notice that she started crying.
"Why are you so angry?!" Jinx asked confused, while climbing back into Vi's lap. "You have me now! Your sister. And now... We can be together again, like old times. Just you and me, jumping through the streets. Isn't this what you wanted?", Jinx asked, faking a frowning face.
Vi looked up into her face with disgust, fear and pain. "Please." she begged, crying. "Please let me go."
"Oh my goodness, Vi! Just how long did you spend with this whore? You sound exactly like her, when I shattered her knees." Jinx smiled. She fucking smiled. She's enjoying this.
Vi's chest was about to burst, when she gave the restraints one last try. And like the times before, they wouldn't move. The tied up girl breathed heavily through the tears and the pain.
"Oh! You wanna know what her last words were?" Jinx asked with a grin forming from ear to ear.
Vi couldn't do it anymore. She was just letting her body sit there, curled together as far as she could go, hoping that this was nothing more than a nightmare. A sick fucking nightmare.
"So, basically!" Jinx started while standing up. "She was screaming for like an hour or so, haha, but then suddenly… Quiet!", the way her body moved while talking only made Vi more and more sick.
Jinx broke into frantic laughter. "Her fucking vocal cords snapped, Vi! Isn't that fucking hilarious?!"
Please… Stop… Talking… I can't take this anymore Vi thought, her eyes burning from the tears. Hearing these details. She just wanted all of this to end.
"But she still managed to speak some more words before you know…" Vi looked up, and saw Jinx moving a finger in front of her throat with an accompanying KRRK sound. Vi felt like she was about to faint.
"And you wanna know what she said with like one vocal cord left, bleeding on her entire body, and probably a few seconds away from her death?" The girl came closer to Vi's face again.
And then she said with her roughest sounding voice: "Please… Please… Tell Vi… I… Lo…"
Vi didn't know what to feel. She was feeling everything at once. But there was one emotion, overshadowing it all: Pain.
"Honestly, I don't know what she wanted to say." Jinx jokingly said, while moving away again. "Please Tell Vi I lo. What does lo mean? Well, I don't know. But hey, last words, am I right? They're important and all."
Vi felt sick, when she remembered her last words to Caitlyn. Oil and water. Oil. And fucking water. She wanted to die. She wanted to die right in that moment, to have this pain, guilt, sadness, just everything to be over.
"Ah, sorry for all of this, Vi. I know, it must've been a little rough, but don't worry! Now you have me! Powder! Your sister!"
Vi looked up again in disgust. Before feeling something. The blood around her wrist made her hand slippery. Slippery enough to free it from the shackles. Her eyes widened. Her pain quickly transformed into anger and pure, unfiltered rage. She looked at Caitlyn's separated head one last time, before freeing herself with one, last heavy pull.
Jinx spun around in shock but it was too late. In just a second, Vi grabbed her gun from Jinx's holster and held it up to her chest. The blue haired girl looked at her. This time, with a real frowning face. "Vi? I thought this is what you wanted. To have your sister back…" she cried while putting up her hands.
Vi cried more and more, with her gun pointed at her sister. "My sister…" she mourned. "My sister is dead. She died here. Seven fucking years ago."
Jinx took a step back in shock.
"I made her a promise, you know? That I'd kill every fucking monster that dared try to harm her. But I've failed. You've got to her, quicker than I could."
Vi could make out tears running down Jinx's cheeks. "Vi…"
"But I won't let that monster get away, Powder. Not anymore."
A gunshot.
Jinx looked at her sister, who held the smoking pistol in her hands. Then, she looked down at herself. Her exposed stomach was… Red. And a large, gaping hole formed on her chest.
"Vi…" She said with her last breath, before falling to the ground.
"JINX!" Silco screamed in pain.
Vi heard him rambling in his seat, just like she did mere moments ago. But she ignored him and instead, rushed to her dying sister.
She lay on the ground, her brown top quickly covering itself in blood. Vi held up her sister's head and looked her in the eyes. A stream of blood emitted from her mouth, once she started talking.
"The voices." Jinx started with a heavy breath. "They stopped. They all stopped." The bleeding girl reached out to her sister, and cupped her cheek with her left hand.
Vi started to cry even harder now.
"Vi… Thank.. You-" Jinx said with her last dying breath.
Her sister curled down, weeping uncontrollably, while hugging the lifeless body of her little sister.
She rocked it up and down repeating only one phrase over and over again:
"I'm sorry Pow-Pow. I'm so sorry."
"YOU KILLED HER! YOU FUCKING MONSTER!" Silco continued to scream. But Vi didn't hear him. She was focused on keeping her dead sister company.
After a while, the older girl stood up, visually still broken, and with a fixed goal in mind. She picked up the gun she had dropped earlier, and walked over to the head on the platter.
The girl leaned in, and gave it a small kiss on the forehead, before whispering: "I love you too, Cupcake."
With her last strength, she then made her way to an opening in the side of the building, where she could see the blood-red moon, shining above the two cities.
She smiled, while looking down at the weapon in her hands.
"Milo. Claggor. Vander, Powder… Cupcake. I really hope you didn't have to wait for too long. But we will see each other again. Soon."
Vi lifted her head up, and pointed the barrel of the gun at her own chin.
"Don't worry." tears were running down her face. "I'm on my way." she said, before pulling the trigger.
