Walking down a path of ruin, the boy was lost. He was beyond lost. He didn't know where he was, but it felt so familiar. He could hear people talking, all kinds of conversations going on, but when he took a turn or even peeked around the corner there was nothing. So he continued. He walked and walked but nothing changed. The sky remained red, the buildings were shadows of their former selves and the air was rotting. It was until he heard the holy cries in the sky. When he looked up, his eyes were engulfed in flames as he witnessed a holy arm descend from the sky, the trumpets played loudly and the holy chanting of The Creator's guardians burned his ears. His troubles only grew as the ground beneath him cracked, the asphalt road bursting into flames as he descended down, the armies of chaos flying out and zipping past him. His body burned as the heat of Hell consumed him as he continued to fall.

As he fell, he would see a red suited man in a wheelchair of sorts, along with numerous individuals who just stood there ..

None spoke to him.

Sitting up right after, he was in a sweat. A damn nightmare. He wiped his face with a towel, grabbing a cold bottle of water from his mini-fridge and drinking it all. A damn nightmare and ... Looking over to the clock he realized the time. Shit. He went back to bed, he needed his sleep, for his first day of school was going to begin. Ducking back into the warm blanket, he would close his eyes and hoped for the best.

Snoozing right after.

...

Waking up, he rubbed his eyes as he yawned. He lazily got out of his bed and started slumping to the bathroom. With a quick shower that helped him fully wake up, he did a few stretches before checking the closet. In it of course contained numerous clothing and pairs of shoes, but two large cardboard white boxes lay within it. He knew the first one contained his uniform, but the second one ..? Opening the first one he fixed on the uniform. He checked the mirror in his room to slightly judge himself. I look like a religious follower, he thought to himself.

A white coat and slacks, both having red outlines and a stylized sigil on the left chest. Accompanying the uniform was a single white beret, with a pin accompanying it.

He was ready to leave, that's all he needed for the first day .. He still had some free time according to the clock, so why not spare some time for the second box. Opening it he would find: A small keyboard, red and yellow cable, plugs, along with a pair of goggles.

It was a one of a kind portable computer! The latest model as well.

It fit snuggly. He couldn't figure out how to turn on the damn thing until it did by itself. A pure black screen covering his vision freaked him out for a moment until white text started to fill the screen. What the hell is this!? The only line of words he managed to catch was the Demon Summoning Program .. Some weird joke? Yeah, or some anti-virus. Hopefully it was the ladder.

That wasn't the only thing in the second box. What else was in it was weirder. A Kevlar vest that had spray painted text saying "TRY ME! :)", inviting anyone to shoot the wearer. What was next was a weird looking knife that was more of a dagger .. And a handgun!? This was some weird trick someone is trying to pull on him--or worse, he got the wrong package .. He didn't remember even picking this second box up.

.. He pinched himself. Ouch. This wasn't a dream, this was real. Thinking quickly, he hid the box under his bed, keeping the gun, gladius sword, and Kevlar vest in. This portable computer however .. Well, maybe his school will allow it. He would give his last sight of the morning, grabbing his book bag he hurried out and into the streets of Casavia.
