Comfortember Day One: Alt. Two: Waterfall

"Where are you taking me, Mister Stark?"

"How many times do I have to tell you it's a surprise?"

"Well, I'm hoping you'll just cave in and tell me."

"Nope."

Peter huffed and slumped in his seat. He'd been trying for the past hour and a half to get Tony to tell him where they were going. The man didn't fluctuate once, not even when Peter gave him his famous 'bambi eyes'! Those eyes always worked but not this time. Maybe Tony was somehow getting immune.

"Take one guess and I'll tell you if you're right or not," Tony said.

"You are taking me to a carnival," Peter guessed.

"Nope. Interesting guess, though," Tony said with a laugh. He patted Peter's knee. "It won't be too long now."

"Okay, fine. I'll wait."

"Finally."

It took another two hours, thanks to traffic, until Tony pulled into a parking lot. After he parked under the shade of a tall tree, Tony reached into the glove compartment and pulled out a blindfold. He wiggled it in front of Peter's face with an amused smirk.

"You'll need this for the rest of the way."

"A blindfold? Mister Stark."

"Come on, kid. Trust me, you won't need your eyes right away. It'll be better if you rely on your hearing."

"That sounds suspicious," Peter said, looking at the blindfold skeptically.

"Just put it on, kid."

Peter sighed dramatically but did as Tony told him. He tried to cheat by having the knot behind his head loose but Tony caught him in the act. Tony tightened the knot but not too much more, just enough so the smallest movement wouldn't knock the thing off.

Peter trusted Tony to lead him to wherever they were going. Tony kept his hands on Peter's shoulders and steered him every which way. Meanwhile, Peter did what Tony told him and relied on his hearing.

The sounds of people chatting was the first thing he heard, nothing unusual. Trees brushed together thanks to the gentle wind. His footsteps in sync with Tony's. Tony's heartbeat, calm and comforting.

"So, I noticed you've been pretty stressed recently," Tony said after a couple minutes. He squeezed Peter's shoulders. "Your shoulders are pretty tense, too."

Peter shrugged. "Yeah. It's been a rough week. A rough two weeks actually."

Tony clicked his tongue. Peter prepared himself for the scolding that was to come.

"This is going to sound hypocritical coming from me," Tony said. "But you need to take breaks once in a while. Even if it's only one day."

"You're right, that is hypocritical coming from you."

Tony flicked the back of Peter's head. Peter laughed and resisted the urge to swat him away.

"Seriously, kid. Take the breaks you need," Tony said, almost firmly. Peter could still detect fondness in his tone.

"I will if you will."

"Oh no, don't turn this around on me," Tony laughed.

"I'll try."

"Good, that's all I ask."

Tony patted his shoulders and they fell into a comfortable silence again.

After a few more minutes Peter finally heard what he knew Tony wanted him to hear. The sound of water rolling down from a great height and slamming into more water down below. The smell of his surroundings was also pleasant and fresh as the scent wafted into his nose.

"Is this what I think it is?"

"I don't know, kid. Is it?"

Tony turned Peter to his right and moved him forward a couple steps and finally let go of his shoulders. Peter took that as his sign that he was allowed to remove his blindfold and he did so quickly, excited to see just what was ahead of him.

"Wow," Peter whispered.

It was one of the prettiest sights he's ever seen. Waterfalls surrounded them and the water practically shined thanks to the sun beaming down. Peter stood closer to the safety rail and let his eyes wander the surroundings. With his enhanced senses, everything was so much more beautiful and clearer than what most people experienced.

"Well, what do you think?" Tony asked, stepping up beside him and crossing his arms on the safety rail. "It's a beautiful sight, isn't it?"

"Yeah, it's really beautiful," Peter said, still enchanted by the nature surrounding them.

Peter could practically feel the slight tension in his body dissipate as he relaxed against the rail, staring out at the beautiful strong waterfalls. This was almost as beautiful, if not more beautiful, than when the sky was clear and Peter could manage to see the stars in New York. Nature definitely smelled better than the city did.

"How did I do, Webs?" Tony asked, nudging him with his elbow lightly.

Peter smiled up at him, fully at ease. "You did great, Mister Stark."

Tony smiled and wrapped his arm around Peter's shoulders, pulling him to his side. Peter's smile grew and he snuggled into Tony's side. Warmth spread through his body as he settled into Tony's comfortable hold.

This was what he needed after two stressful weeks.

"Thank you, Mister Stark."

"Anytime, kiddo. Anytime."

Author's Note: Hey, ya'll. We're back at it with another collection of one-shots, all of them unrelated like last time.

This time around there'll be a mix of Iron Dad along with some Iron Bros. However, since almost all of it is Iron Dad, I'll put in brackets when a day is Iron Bros specific.
Just like the last event, nothing in these stories will have anything to do with Infinity War or Endgame in any way. That goes for all my Marvel stories actually. There will also be some AUs thrown in now and then too.

If you want to find the prompts, go on Tumblr and type in Comfortember and the blog should pop up.

That's all for now. I'll see ya'll in the next chapter.

Thanks for reading!
