A slow, romantic song played quietly on the radio. Ulrich lay in his bed, listening to the lyrics. He thought about only one thing – Yumi. Not only was she his best friend, but his crush as well. It's not as though she didn't know about his feelings for her, she acted like it anyway. Truth was, he'd never actually told her, he'd tried, but it never worked.
Why don't you kiss her?

Ulrich sat up in his bed, thinking he'd heard his friends talking outside his door. He changed the station on his radio, just to be careful. He lay back down, thinking of the very best moment of his life. It lasted only a few seconds, but it was the greatest. Thinking more, the thought about how long he'd been friends with Yumi. He thought about the "something" between them. Was it always there? Or was it something new?

Ulrich buried his head in his pillow, pondering the dilemma he had been faced with. He groaned, and flipped over to his back. He sat up and hung his head for a moment, and got up to go find her. He opened the door, and there she was.
"Yumi, we need to talk," he said.
"Ulrich, if it's about the eavesdropping…." she stuttered.
"It's not about that," he answered, opening the door quickly to let her inside.
She walked inside, and he shut the door behind her.

"Yumi, there's something we need to talk about," he said, softly and slowly.
"Ulrich I …"
He cut her off. "Just listen!" he said, putting a finger to her lips, "There's something between us. Don't get me wrong! It's a good thing. But its there. And I was wondering if you knew it, too."
She moved his finger off her lips, "Yeah, I noticed it."
What would you say?
I wonder would she just turn away?

Yumi sat down on Odd's bed, and Ulrich sat next to her. She wrapped her arms around him, making both of them blush.

Ulrich kissed her. A sweet, innocent little kiss. But that little kiss made this the very best moment of his entire life. He pulled away, looking at her blush. She rested her head on his shoulder, sighing deeply.
