Angelica Winchester knew all about the supernatural. She was a Winchester; it was practically a family requirement.
Her grandfather, Henry was Albertus Magnus of the Men of Letters. He was in charge of the largest collection of supernatural lore ever collected.
Her parents, John and Mary were two of the most knowledgeable hunters in the world. Her mom taught hunting classes at the local community college; and her dad along with her Uncle Bobby were the heads of the American hunting community.
She had four honorary uncles who were archangels. Uncle Gabe was also Loki the Trickster and her Uncle Luci was Satan. Uncle Mike was the commander of the heavenly host and Uncle Raph was heaven's healer.
Her Aunt Spicy was one of the most powerful demons in existence and Uncle Crowley was the regent of hell. And if all this wasn't enough she had two older brothers. And they were the problem.
Her older brother, Dean was a reaper. He was Death's right hand. That meant that no one around them seemed to die. The family hellhound, Ajax was still in his prime although his actual age was close to 40 years old because as Dean put it; "No pet of theirs was going to Purgatory."
Her other brother Sam was a demon; and Uncle Luci's second in command of hell. Thanks to Sam; demons gave no grief to the Winchesters. In fact they stayed in hell except for the handful allowed on Earth. Uncle Crowley once told her how demons went out of their way to avoid getting on Sam's bad side.
Her brothers were scary on their own but together they were terrifying. Which explained why she was twenty years old and without a date for the big celebration this weekend. The anniversary of Abbadon's defeat was a big deal in Lebanon. And everyone was coming to town for it.
"Has Angel been acting funny with you?" Dean asked as he pulled onto the highway leading their ever present convoy. "She almost bit my head off yesterday. She's worse than you ever were."
"She's kind of ticked with us right now." Sam answered. "I don't think she appreciates you interrogating every guy that asks her out. You piss her off and then I end up as collateral damage because you tell them you'll kill them and then I'll drag them to hell."
"She's our little sister. Got to make sure they are going to treat her right." Dean shot back.
"I get it Dean." Sam said. "But maybe lay off the threats. Last time she complained about us; our grandfather stuck me in a devil's trap and gave me an hour long lecture. The only reason you weren't stuck there with me is because he hasn't found Alistair's spell to contain a reaper."
"Devil's traps work on you?" Dean snarked. "Figured you would be immune to them being Satan's second and all."
"That's what you got from that?" Sam groaned. "And no they don't really work on me but I don't want Henry Winchester digging to find something that will work. Gramps is just as scary as the rest of us you know."
It was ladies luncheon day. That meant that the corner booth at Elizabeth's Cajun Corner was occupied by the unofficial Lebanon Women's Club. Elizabeth herself was handling that table so she could join in on the conversation.
"I understand the boys looking out for her but they scare away every boy Angel likes." Mary said. "And here I thought John was going to be the overprotective one."
"They are pretty well-known around here." Jody agreed. "Every kid in town knows who the Winchester boys are; and more importantly what they are. The locals steer clear of her for that reason alone."
"You know, Meg and I have been mulling over the problem." Spicy now added her opinion. "What Angel needs is a beau who is: A, not from Lebanon; B, not a hunter; C, knows all about the supernatural; and D, is high enough up on the food chain to make those two think twice."
Elizabeth had just made her way over with the coffee pot to top off their cups. "You know Freya and Sif were in this morning. The kids are coming from Asgard for the celebrations. I understand Gabriel has three single sons."
"Well that's definitely high on the food chain." Jody said. "That's god level since Chuck loves those pagan grandkids of his."
"Virgil told me he drops by Asgard and Helheim to visit regularly." Mary said.
"I think I'll suggest Gabriel reintroduce them to Angel when I get back." Spicy said. "Who knows; maybe one of the boys will take a liking to her. "
Jody's radio went off. "Well that's my cue. Anytime I hear Balthazar and Lilith in the same radio call something is about to go sideways. Those two together are always right in the middle of some problem."
"Michael sent Heaven's Resident Assbutt to report to Gabriel. He is their favorite target after all." Mary chuckled.
"Who knew Castiel would get that to stick as Zachariah's official nickname." Spicy laughed. "It fits though!"
"Verchiel, Why do I have two angels and a demon in my holding cells right now?" Jody asked. "And why is one of those angels Zachariah?"
The arrival of Gabriel saved the seraph from answering. Gabriel regarded Zach in one cell and next door Lilith and Balthazar were cozied up on the cot chatting quietly.
"Why are you sitting in a jail cell instead of giving your report to Michael?" Gabriel asked. "Wait let me guess; you left me and instead of reporting back to your boss immediately you saw Lil and Balth and had to hop up on that high horse of yours."
"Angels have no business cavorting with demons!" Zachariah snorted.
"And that's your side of the story." Gabriel turned to Balthazar. "Well what have you got to say for yourself."
"Lil and I were minding our own business. We were heading to campus to see if anyone needed help preparing for the party this weekend when heaven's resident assbutt started in on us."
"He threatened to smite me." Lilith piped up. "I was defending myself."
"Verchiel, is that what happened?" Jody asked.
"His remark could technically be considered a threat." Verchiel agreed. "But knowing where he was I don't think it was his intent; he was just being difficult."
"Okay release Balthazar and Lilith." Jody said. "They answer to Gabriel. Notify Michael to come get Zachariah."
"The commander may not be pleased at being disturbed." Verchiel noted.
"Then Zach can just cool his heels until you work up the nerve to call Mikey." Gabriel said as he gathered the seraph and demon.
"You cannot mean to leave me here! I am the assistant to the commander of the host." Zachariah sputtered.
"As you said; you're Michael's assistant." Gabriel smirked. "Mikey can get off his heavenly ass and bail you out this time. I've bailed you out. Luci's bailed you out. Hell even Raphy's had to pick you up. It's Michael's turn."
Dean still jumped when Cas suddenly appeared in the back seat. "Dude! Don't do that."
Cas lips lifted slightly. "Then you should stop flinching."
"Cas has a point." Sam smirked. "It's been decades and you still jump every time he shows up."
"Shut it bitch." Dean said. "Was there some reason for you showing up; or did you just want to give me a heart attack?"
"Gabriel asked me to inform Sam that Lilith was arrested again." Castiel answered.
"Let me guess; Balthazar was right beside her in the cell." Sam said dryly.
"What did the devious duo do this time?" Dean asked.
"Zachariah was involved." Castiel explained. "He made a statement to her that could be taken as a threat but Verchiel thinks it was meant as harassment instead. Lilith responded by tossing him through the hardware store window."
"I guess we better head to the jail." Sam sighed. "Someone is going to have to pay the fine and damages on the window."
"The sheriff released Lilith and Balthazar to Gabriel and he paid their fines." Castiel now full on smirked. "Zachariah remains in custody."
"Wait, what" Dean glanced at the seraph in the back seat.
"She has decreed that Michael must bail him out." Castiel said, complete with air quotes.
"He's going to love that." Dean smirked; sarcasm so thick that even Cas caught it.
