Everyone was sound asleep until the annoying loud speaker rang. Chris told all the campers to start running across the island and then meet at the Mess Hall.
"Get enough sleep?" Trent asked Gwen.
"Not really. Lindsey has to blow dry her hair so much. The girl doesn't know how to use conditioner at all." Gwen joked.
"Hey guys wait up!" Cody hollered.
"Pff, please. As if you would see me run like this." Heather snarled.
"But we could lose if we don't run." Lindsey stated.
"Yeah, but then I would be all sweaty, and that is bad for my complexion."
"You are so right." Lindsey agreed with Heather.
"Hurry it up you slow pokes!" Courtney yelled at Katie and Sadie.
"We are trying. It's just so hard." Katie moaned.
"I know right. Like why is this so impossible?" Sadie complained.
"That would be because it is a challenge." Raviel expressed with a curious look.
"Oh hey. Thanks again for swapping teams with me." Katie thanked.
"No problem. Besides, I would not have enjoyed that team anyway. Courtney is kind of rude and Duncan is a criminal of a jerk. Those two just equal chaos, you know?" Raviel joked and got the two girls to laugh.
"Pick up the pace, NOW!" Courtney demanded, as the two ran faster.
The last person to enter the Mess Hall was Harold.
"Can't… breathe…" Harold struggled to talk.
"Since we made it here first, we won the challenge!" Gwen cheered.
"Not yet. First we must enjoy a nice meal prepared by Chef." Chris motioned over to the banquet.
"It's beautiful." Owen admired, as everyone finished their meal.
"Ok, now meet me by the elimination ceremony." Chris guided the campers to the site.
"Ok, what gives? Why are we all here?" Heather demanded.
"Your challenge for this week is to stay up as long as possible. Last team to stay awake wins the challenge." Chris stated.
"So the running and the food where…" Trent started.
"A ploy to get you tired." Chris finished the statement.
The campers were trying their best to stay awake as long as they could. Heather had an alternative plan though.
"Lindsey, Beth; you got a minute?" Heather motioned.
"What's up?" Beth asked.
"How would you two like a free pass to the top three?" Heather pitched.
"Oh boy!" Both girls shared the same amount of excitement.
"Good. Just do as I say and I can guarantee victory for us." Heather prompted.
"This is exciting. I can't wait to tell the others." Lindsey cheered.
"You can't do that. That would be breaking the girl code. And the more people you tell the less special our little team has. You don't want to make this less special do you?" Heather taunted, thus the girls sworn to secrecy.
Most of the campers had fallen asleep by this point. It was up to Duncan, Courtney, Gwen, Trent, and Raviel.
"Here Gwen, I got you some water." Raviel offered.
"Thanks. I guess you aren't a bad guy huh?" Gwen joked.
"Not when you get to know me. So why did you join the show?" Raviel asked.
"You're just going to laugh at me." Gwen said.
"I promise I won't."
"Well, I auditioned to get the chance to leave school. I don't really like the gaudy girls, the cheerleaders, or basically anyone there. So I guess I used this place as an escape from there. If I win, I definitely don't want to go back. But I would love to travel around the world." Gwen confessed.
"There's nothing wrong with that."
"What about you huh? Why would a hot shot like you need to be here?" Gwen remarked.
"My reason would just make you feel bad for me. So I better not say."
"I told you mine. It's only fair you tell me yours." Gwen persisted.
"Well ok then. Back at home it's just me and my sister. Parents split, the whole deal. Anyway; she got real sick and we needed the money. School wouldn't let me get a job because grades were slipping because I was taking care of sis. She is starting to recover, but still we need the money so that is why I am here." Raviel confessed.
"Heavy stuff. Well hope all goes well for you and your sister." Gwen said.
"Thanks, and good luck with traveling." Raviel responded.
Only Courtney, Duncan, Raviel, Gwen, and Trent were left awake.
"Duncan! Are you sleeping?" Courtney hollered.
"If I was, I would be here." Duncan remarked.
"Good! Because we…hu..need to win….hu.. this chall….." Courtney passed out.
"Looks like it is me and you three left." Duncan glanced over.
"How are you still awake and not look tired man?" Trent pondered.
"Simple. Back in juvie, if you were asleep: you're donezo. So I learned to stay awake when I need to be." Duncan answered.
Chris had then entered the area to read the rest of them a lullaby. Only Raviel fell for the hoax, only because the song was the same one he heard as a little kid.
"This cannot be happening." Gwen complained.
"It could be worse." Trent tried to cheer her up.
"How?"
"You could be stuck with him." Trent pointed at Duncan.
"Hey watch it Boy Band. I can still hurt you after the challenge."
"Don't listen to him. He is just trying to psych you out." Gwen stared at Duncan.
"I'm not worried. Not when I have you near me." Trent reassured.
"Sick; that just made me throw up in my mouth." Duncan repulsed.
Chris came out and said that he was forced to read something that no one had to sit through ever. He pulled out a book on religion, and said that he was going to read the entire book to them in one sitting. After a while, Trent could not stay up any longer. Chris allowed for a bathroom break for the two. Duncan almost passed, but Gwen reminded him that there were about five hundred sections they have still yet uncovered. Duncan ran over as fast as he could. One of the camera men opened the stall and found Duncan passed out, thus making Gwen the winner.
Later the next day:
"Where is my MP3 Player?! I need my music. Whoever stole it is going to be sorry!" Eva raged.
"What seems to be the problem?" Heather asked in a off pitched tone.
"Some took Eva's MP3 Player and no one knows where it is." Courtney answered.
"Could this be it? I found it last night but didn't know who it belonged to." Heather pulled out the device she knowingly stole.
"Oh thank you. Thank you thank you." Eva graciously hugged Heather.
"No problem." Heather walked away and noticed Eva's team was not happy with her.
