"So how is life in Slythrein House?" Sirius asked Severus as he greeted his newly gained friend. "I heard the Longbottom heir brought their plight to the view of others."
"He did spectacularly," Severus admitted. "I have complained about the stereotypes against Slythrein House and Muggleborns to Albus the entire time I have taught but he refused to address it."
"No suprise there," Remus commented. "He egged on James and Sirius to prank Slythrein House when we where students but I didn't realize it until much later. I had too much admiration for the wizard that allowed me to attend school."
"Albus has always overruled our punishments for pranks against Slythrein House," Minerva commented when she settled on the couch by her husband. "Filius, Pomona and I have learned to keep track of those incidents and punish them more severely for other infractions when the opportunity presents itself."
Severus chuckled at that as he eyed his wife in amusement. "That explains so much," he said.
"It certainly explains why you docked me points so much," Sirius said, mirth showing in his eyes.
Remus cleared his throat and gained everyone's attention. "We found something at Grimmauld Place that concerns us." He laid a golden locket on the table.
Severus shuddered before gasping in realization. "Is that a bloody Horcux?" he demanded.
"According to a curse breaker at Gringotts it is," Sirius answered. "Kreacher explained Regulus had stolen it from Voldemort but he had been unable to destroy it."
"Fiendfyre and Basilisk venom," Minerva answered indifferently. She looked at the three suprised men in the room before rolling her eyes. "Did you three forget I worked in the Magical Law Enforcement office before Hogwarts? I have came across references of Horcuxes before."
"Sorry love," Severus apologized, he had forgotten she worked any job before Hogwarts. "There were whispers amongst the Death Eaters that the Dark Lord had ensured his immortality. Horcuxes would grant immortality regardless of how unstable one would become from them."
"Kreacher seems to believe there was more than one created." Sirius revealed. "I spoke with a few contacts discreetly. One of them claimed Harry stabbed one with a Basilisk fang in his second year. If that is true than it is reasonable to assume Albus knew about the Horcrux but in his all-knowing wisdom has chose not to mention it to anyone."
"Three years," Minerva shrieked. "We had three bloody years to search for and destroy them to prevent his return."
"We also speculate that Albus left Sirius in Azkaban for a reason," Remus said with a frown marring his face. "He buried James and Lilly's will rather quickly too. For what reason?"
"Bloody hell," Severus exclaimed as he got to his feet and started pacing across the room. "Potter's scar is a horcrux. Albus is obsessed with Potter. He was keeping him ignorant of his heritage so he could be led to the slaughter."
"I'm going to murder him," Sirius said in frustration.
"That's what put you in Azkaban last time," reminded Minerva. "We need to get Harry to a curse breaker and have it confirmed. If it is, we need to find a way to get it extracted from a living host."
"We need to figure out how many Horcuxes the bastard made," Remus said.
"We need Potter to open the Chamber of Secrets for us so we can access Basilisk venom to destroy the one we have," Severus offered. "We need to do it discreetly to prevent Albus from catching on."
"I will talk with Harry and have him give Filius a reason to give him detention with me," Minerva said.
"Ask him to bring his cloak and map to detention," Remus suggested. "You should probably reassure him you won't confiscate them when you do. They belonged to James so I doubt he will part with them."
"He has the bloody Invisibility Cloak of the Deathly Hallows?" raged Minerva as she glared at Sirius and Remus.
"The Deathly Hallows is just a myth," Remus said flabbergasted at why she was so upset.
"They most certainly aren't," Severus replied harshly. "The Peverell Brothers were real and I guarantee if you look back in Potter's ancestry one of the brothers are there."
"James did say the Cloak was a family heirloom," Sirius said thoughtfully.
"We have no proof the Deathly Hallows are even in existence," Remus scoffed. "There are plenty of cloaks of invisibility on the market."
Minerva held up her wand as she glared at her friends. "This is the bloody Elder Wand," she revealed. "I liberated it from Albus Dumbledore who in turn won it from Gellert Grindelwald. I have no idea where he found the wand but I can assure you the Deathly Hallows are very much real. The power from this wand is stronger than any I have experienced. I cringed at the thought of it falling into the wrong hands. We have debated tossing it through the Veil but we know too little about it."
"Are you telling me we have access to two of the Deathly Hallows," Sirius asked, a calculating look in his blue eyes. Minerva merely nodded her head. "Where's the third one then?"
"The Slythrein family derived from the Perevell line," Severus offered. "It is reasonable to assume the Dark Lord has it or did have it at one point."
"Exactly," Sirius said. "The Deathly Hallows are connected and we have access to two. Minerva wields the Elder Wand so if she has the Invisibility Cloak she should be able to mediate and search out the Resurrection Stone."
"It would also be reasonable to believe the Master of Death, or Mistress in this case, could sense a way to cheat death," Severus said wide-eyed.
Everyone looked at each other for a moment in stark realization of what they had merely stumbled across. Remus cleared this throat as ran from the room. "I'm going to borrow Harry's cloak for a moment."
