Sam and Dean explained everything going down the next night. The hell gate, Azazel's plans, and everything in-between. Neither mentioned what had happened to Carly, doing everything in their power to not even think of it. They wanted her to believe she had just passed out and nothing more. Letting her know the truth would make her feel guilt and neither of them wanted that to happen.

So, they prepared for the fight that would ensue as the three made their way to the graveyard the following night. Sam and Dean took the lead as Carly followed close behind. They found Bobby on the edge of the forest with a smile and a shotgun.

"Glad you could make it," Bobby said, leaning forward and hugging Dean.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world," Dean said, pulling back from the hug.

When they separated, Bobby's gaze went to the other brother. "Sam."

"Bobby," Sam said in the same type of voice.

That's when Bobby caught sight of a third figure. He turned to look between the boys and when he saw Carly, his eyes went wide. If she was awake and breathing, they had done something unforgivable.

"Boys, can I talk to you for a moment?" Bobby asked, looking from Dean to Sam and back again.

They agreed as the three made their way a good distance from Carly so she couldn't listen in. She sat down on a large boulder as Bobby turned his attention to the boys. There was worry and anger behind those eyes.

"What the hell did you do?" Bobby whispered. "Bringing her back to life comes with a price. So, what dumb thing did you Idjits do this time?"

"Sam tried to sell his soul for Carly," Dean admitted with a shrug. "I couldn't let him do that so I took his place. I sold my soul to bring her back to life."

Bobby was livid. "Why in the hell would you do something so idiotic?"

"Sam was heartbroken over Carly. He planned to sell his soul and I couldn't stand by and watch it happen. I tried to stop him, but he handcuffed me to the car. I broke out and took his place. I could've just left, but I knew Sam needed her, and I couldn't...I wouldn't stand and watch his heart shatter into a million little pieces again...not after what happened to Jess."

"How long did you get?" Bobby sighed.

"One year," Dean admitted.

Sam looked toward Dean with shock. "You never said anything about that."

"I didn't think it was important," Dean shrugged.

Bobby sighed aloud as his gaze traveled to Carly. She was just sitting there waiting for them and it broke his heart. He was glad she was alive, but was the cost worth it?

"Does she know?" Bobby asked, his gaze returning to Sam and Dean's.

"No, and I'd like to keep it that way," Sam admitted. "She has too much on her plate right now, she does not need to worry about this."

"You can't hide this from Carly forever. She's a mind reader and you will slip up," Bobby insisted.

"We'll tell her, but not now. Not when we have to deal with Azazel. We'll tell her when this is all over. I promise," Dean said.

As Carly sat there waiting for the others, she heard a voice from behind her. She got up from where she sat, a gun in hand. She heard a stick snap and went a few feet into the forest to investigate. When she heard another stick snap, she shot around to have her gun come face-to-face with Azazel.

"It's so nice to see you again," He smiled.

"Take one step and I'll put a bullet in your head," Carly threatened.

Azazel laughed aloud. "We both know that gun will barely put a scratch on me."

"Oh, I know, but I bet it'll hurt like a bitch," Carly said, clocking the gun.

"Shooting me won't solve anything. Besides, if you do that I may just have to kill you and then you'll ruin your second chance so soon after receiving it," Azazel pointed out.

"Second chance? What do you mean by a second chance?" Carly asked with confusion.

That reaction made Azazel smile. "They haven't told you, have they? Oh, that is honestly priceless. They hate me for lying and yet they do that exact same thing."

"Haven't told me what?" Carly asked.

Azazel leaned forward, knocking the gun away with one finger. "You died when Jake stabbed you. Sam couldn't handle the loss and went to sell his soul to bring you back. Dean couldn't let his little brother do such a thing and took his place."

Carly's stomach fell to the ground as the breath caught in her throat. Everything around her froze as she tried to comprehend what Azazel just said.

"No, it can't be," She muttered.

"You were stabbed in the stomach less than a day ago, but it looks as if it healed entirely. Does it not?" Azazel said.

Carly lifted her shirt and undid the bandages. She felt the flesh with her finger and shivered at the smooth texture. It was barely there at all.

Carly couldn't form words at the guilt, the heartbreak, and the anger she felt. Her fists clenched as tears came to her eyes. Azazel noticed this and decided to prey upon those feelings.

"Dean has about a year before his soul is dragged to hell and he did it all to save you," Azazel admitted.

Carly shook her head, a tear rolling down her cheek. "He shouldn't have done that. I'm not worth that kind of sacrifice."

"They believe you are, but I can reverse the effects," Azazel admitted, as their gaze met. "If you help me, I can destroy the deal's contract and save Dean's soul, but in the end, that means you go back to being dead."

"What do I have to do?" Carly asked.

"Are you sure? There is no going back after this," Azazel said.

"I know, tell me what I have to do,"

Bobby sighed, his hands going to his hips. "You both know the consequences of something like this. I mean your father did this for you and now you're throwing away your second chance for a stranger?"

"It's not like I wanted to," Dean pointed out. "It was either me or Sam. I would rather have myself burning in hell then my brother. I didn't have a choice."

"There's always a choice, Dean!" Bobby snapped. "You could've walked away and taken your brother with you."

"You didn't see the heartbreak, Bobby! Sam deserves to be happy and I am willing to suffer to make that happen!" Dean yelled back.

Sam glanced over to where Carly had been sitting to find she was gone. "Guys…"

"Of course Sam deserves to be happy, but selling your soul to get it is not the answer!" Bobby yelled.

"Maybe, it isn't, but I can't take it back, now can I?" Dean yelled.

Sam looked from the rock back toward them. "Guys…"
"Yeah because you always do things without thinking first!" Bobby yelled.

"What is that supposed to mean?' Dean snapped.

Sam yelled this time. "Guys!"

"WHAT?!" Dean and Bobby snapped at the same time.

"Can you two stop bickering for one goddamn second? Carly's gone," Sam said.

Dean and Bobby turned to notice the rock Carly had been sitting on was now empty. The three looked at one another and booked it into the forest. If she had gone in, she could be hurt or worse.

Carly and Azazel made it to the middle of the graveyard. It looked like most graveyards with dead flowers, gravestones, and mausoleums with the added bonus of a hell gate smack in the middle. Azazel led Carly onto the steps going up to the hell gate where Jake was already waiting. The sight of Carly made Jake's eyes go wide.

"I killed you," Jake gasped.

"I guess you didn't do a good enough job," Carly snapped.

Azazel stood between them, placing a hand on each of their chests. "Now now now, no fighting. We have a mission to accomplish and bickering will not help."

Carly and Jake glared at one another before taking a step back, each of them crossing their arms over their chests. Carly sighed before turning her attention to Azazel. "What exactly do I have to do to undo this deal?"

"All you have to do is take this," Azazel said, a gun materializing his hands. "And put the barrel in the hole within the door. Turn it to the left and the door will open. Once that is complete, I can get the contract for Dean's deal and destroy it. You will go back to being dead and Dean's soul will be saved."

"Hey, wasn't I supposed to be the one to do this?" Jake whined.

"Yes, but Carly and I made a deal. Don't you worry, you have an important role once the door is open," Azazel reassured, turning his gaze back to Carly.

"This is bullshit," Jake thought.

Carly smiled to herself as Azazel offered the gun to her. She looked at it for a long moment before taking the gun in her hand. She knew this was idiotic, but in the end, Sam and Dean could defeat what ever came out of the door. They could save the day and they would be together.

Carly stepped up to the door, taking a deep breath as she placed the gun within the slot. As she went to turn the gun, yelling and footsteps could be heard. Carly turned around as Sam, Dean, and Bobby came into view.

Sam's eyes went wide. "Carly!"

"Ah, the rest of the party is here," Azazel said with a smile.

He stepped forward and used his telekinesis to throw the three into trees, sticking them there like glue. They tried to get themselves free, but deep down they knew they didn't have the power to do so.

Azazel returned his gaze to Carly and the gun. He motioned for her to turn it as her hand returned to the handle. One turn and the door would open. The deal would be broken and Carly would go back to being dead.

She didn't want to die, but if it meant saving another's soul, it was worth it. Carly wrapped her fingers around the handle and prepared to turn as Dean yelled. "Carly, don't do something you'll regret. You open that door and a lot of people could get hurt. Whatever he told you was a lie. Don't listen to his deceit!"

"Oh, really? So selling your soul to bring me back to life was a lie then?" Carly asked, the look on their faces saying it all. "That's what I thought."

"I couldn't lose you, Carly! Seeing you like that broke me and I went to sell my soul. I was prepared to sell it for you to return, but Dean intervened and took my place," Sam admitted.

"You should've left me dead!" Carly snapped.

"You don't mean that," Dean said.

Her gaze met his. "Because I was brought back you will be going to hell. My life is not worth yours. If I do this, Azazel will break the deal and your soul will be saved. So, yes...I mean every word."
