"Your mouth says no, but your body...your body says yes. In the end you will be better off. Just one little taste. I know you want to," Ruby said, offering her bleeding wrist to Carly again.

"No," Carly muttered.

The wound on Ruby's wrist had healed, but the blood still laid upon her skin. Carly swallowed the spit in her throat as she flew backward onto the floor, getting to her shaky feet. Ruby followed suit and came up right beside Carly. The scent made Carly grab Ruby's arms and pin her up against the wall.

"Do it…" Ruby said, turning her head to reveal more of her neck.

Carly's eyes traveled to Ruby's neck. Her carotid artery pulsing with her heartbeat. Carly could see the blood traveling through Ruby's veins as if she had xray vision and she wanted that crimson liquid...bad.

Carly's fangs extended as her head moved toward the crook of Ruby's neck. Just as she was about to bite, the front door flung open. The sound barely mattered to Carly as she continued to move in closer. The people who entered yelled her name, but they were muffled voices, barely audible to Ruby's heartbeat

Just as her fang scraped against Ruby's neck, she felt hands wrap around her waist as she was pulled backward. The motion broke Carly from whatever hungry trance she was in to find Dean had been the one to pull her away, Sam standing beside the door.

"What the hell happened here?" Sam asked, turning his attention to Ruby.

"I accidentally cut myself and Carly attacked me," Ruby said, acting as the victim. "I was about to fight back when you guys came into the room."

"Now that's a goddamn lie!" Carly yelled, fighting against Dean's grip.

Sam looked from Ruby to Carly and back again. "Whatever the case may be, we got the blood for the cure. I will put everything together. Would you like to help me?"

"I'd love to," Ruby smiled wide as Sam went into the other room, Ruby following after him with a smirk.

"I hate her," Carly muttered.

"You and me both," Dean agreed.

Dean helped Carly to the couch, keeping his grip on her arms in case she went nuts with hunger again. The two sat there quietly, listening to Ruby and Sam put together the cure. As they worked, Dean and Carly could hear the two laughing.

The sound made Carly tense up and Dean noticed. "Don't let her get under your skin."

"Kind of too late for that now that I know he's been drinking her blood like wine," Carly said, keeping her eyes trained on the door to the room they were in.

"Yeah, I get it. I was pissed when I found out too," Dean said with a sigh. "I almost beat the crap out of him right there."

"How could he?" Carly muttered.

"I don't know...he just gave in to temptation," Dean said.

Just then Ruby and Sam came back into the room with Sam having a cup in hand. He approached Carly as Dean let go of her arms. Carly took the cup in her grasp and looked down into the cup of murky liquid.

She looked back up with a grimace. "Do I seriously have to drink this?"

"Yes, it's the only way to cure you of your vampirism," Sam insisted.

"Is it gonna hurt?" Carly sighed, turning to look at Dean.

"I would be lying if I said it didn't," Dean replied.

Carly took a deep breath before plugging her nose and bringing the cup to her lips. Even without being able to smell, the taste was horrible. She choked it down before setting the cup on the coffee table. Carly sat there for a moment thinking everything was fine when it suddenly wasn't.

"Give me a bucket," Carly muttered, keeping a hand to her mouth.

Sam ran into the storage closet and found one inside. He returned with the bucket and handed it to Carly. She took it in her hands and puked so aggressively it felt like she was puking out all her insides.

Carly fell onto the floor while clutching at her stomach. She faced the ceiling, her eyes feeling as if they were being jabbed repeatedly by a thousand needles, the sensation of liquid trailing down her face.

"She's crying blood. Is it working?" Sam whispered.

"I don't know," Dean sighed.

"She looks like shit," Ruby pointed out.

"Not helping," Sam and Dean said at the same time.

Thick liquid started running out of her eyes, way thicker than tears. Carly placed a hand against her face, bringing it back into her view to find blood on her fingertips. She screamed as she went to puke again, except this time her fangs came with it, falling out of her mouth like loose beads on a broken necklace.

That's when she fell backward onto her back, breathing heavily as the pain inside her vanished. Her breathing was ragged as she tried to calm herself down. Dean approached and crouched down beside her.

"How do you feel?" Dean asked, handing her a washcloth for her eyes.

Carly took the washcloth and wiped at her face. "I think it worked...the pain is gone and so is the hunger."

"Can you stand?" Dean asked.

"Yeah, I think so,"

Dean grabbed both of Carly's hands and helped her to her feet. Her legs were still wobbly, but she had the strength to stand. Dean and Carly smiled at one another as Dean pulled her into a tight hug. When he pulled back, Sam stepped forward and hugged her as well. It was awkward, but Carly didn't fight against it.

Once the hug fest was over, Carly needed a hot shower. So as she did that, Sam escorted Ruby to the door, walking her out to her car. When they were gone, Dean cleaned up the apartment, getting rid of the disgusting bucket of vomit and whatever else. As he finished up, Sam returned. Dean decided it was best to go get some food, so he left Carly and Sam in the apartment as he did. When he left, Sam went up to the bathroom door and knocked. He slightly pushed the door open as Carly was putting a new bandage on her neck.

"How are you feeling?" Sam asked.

"Better than I did before," Carly muttered in return.

Sam awkwardly nodded. "Well, that's good,"

"Surprised you care," Carly snapped, pushing past him.

"Of course, I care," Sam admitted with a furrowed brow.

"Oh, don't give me that crap, Sam!" Carly yelled, turning back to face him. "You made it pretty clear how you feel about me when you told me to leave."

"I was drunk and broken, okay!" Sam snapped back. "I was being an idiot and I took it out on you. I regretted my actions the second I woke up to find your note."

"If that were the case, how come you didn't run after me or better yet call to apologize? Instead you decided to hook up with a demon and drink her blood!" Carly yelled.

"She's helped me strengthen my abilities," Sam said.

"Yeah and she's making you less human by the second!" Carly yelled, running a hand through her hair. "What do you think that blood is doing to you? You think it's just strengthening your powers without side effects? Humans are not supposed to consume tainted garbage. Eventually, you'll become a monster yourself!"

"You're wrong!" Sam yelled.

"Am I or are you just too afraid to admit the truth?" Carly asked.

Sam's anger got the best of him and he grabbed Carly's arms, slamming her back into the wall with a thud, causing the painting beside them to fall onto the floor and shatter. His glare was dark and it honestly scared Carly, but she had dealt with asshats her entire life and she wasn't going to back down now.

The movement caused Carly's neck to bleed once again, the bandage turning a red color. This caused Sam's vision to lock onto it, his mouth opening slightly. This look scared her more than the anger that was just on his face.

"Are you going to feed on me too?" Carly asked.

Sam did not respond, but the look on his face said he wanted to. Luckily, Dean came back with food just at that moment. He walked in with food and a smile, when he saw Sam and Carly that smile vanished. Dean set the food on the coffee table and pulled Sam away.

The touch was like ice cold water to Sam. His hunger turned into regret as he ran from the room, slamming the door behind him. Dean watched his brother leave before turning back to Carly to make sure she was alright. When she said she was fine, he helped her to the couch and gave her some food. He wanted to follow after Sam, but he didn't want to leave Carly alone.

As the two ate, Dean turned toward Carly. "I think it's best if you stay somewhere else if you plan to stay in the area. It isn't safe here with Sam being on edge."

"Yeah, I think you're right," Carly agreed.

The two continued to eat when a rush of wind hit the two of them. They turned to find a man standing beside them in a three piece suit and trench coat. The sight of him caused Carly to scream and jump sky high. Dean on the other hand wiped his mouth and stood.

"Why are you here, Cas?" Dean asked.

"I have some news," Castiel said monotonously.

Carly rose to her feet and looked the man up and down. She had not seen him enter, it was as if he blinked into existence. She looked from Dean to this Cas and then back to Dean. When he saw her confusion, Dean explained.

"Carly, this is Castiel...he's an angel," Dean said.

"Angel? You mean like a halo and harp kind of angel?" Carly asked in shock.

"I do not have a halo or a harp. That is untrue," Castiel said with no emotion on his face.

"So Heaven exists then?" Carly asked.

"Yes, it does," Castiel nodded.

Carly's mind was blown as she tried to come to terms with everything he just said. As she did, Dean got back to the point at hand.

"What news do you have, Cas?" Dean asked.

"We have discovered what the last seal to the cage of Lucifer is," Castiel admitted.

Carly's eyes went wide. "Lucifer? As in the Devil...Lucifer?"

"Yes, you have a lot to catch up on," Dean said, turning back toward Castiel. "What is the seal?"

"The death of his first demon will snap the chains around his cage," Castiel said, meeting Dean's gaze. "The death of Lilith will start the apocalypse."

Dean and Carly looked toward one another as they ran from the apartment. The two made their way to the main floor to find Sam and the Impala were gone. Just as they stopped to catch their breath, Castiel appeared beside them.

"This is quite unfortunate," Castiel said.

"Not the time, Cas," Dean said, catching his breath.

"Do you think he went after Lilith?" Carly asked.

"No doubt. He's been tracking her for months to kill her for what she did to me," Dean explained with a sigh. "After he almost attacked you, he probably thought it best if he left, killing Lilith in his wake. If that is the case, he needs to juice up and only one person can help him do that."

"Ruby…"
