Carly and Dean checked around the block, but found no sight of the car or Sam. They went around for almost an hour searching near the apartment, but found nothing. As they searched, Dean and Carly tried to call Sam, but it just kept going to voicemail, which meant he had turned off his phone and tracking it was impossible.
The two returned to the front of the apartment building, frustrated and annoyed. Sam was gone and they had no idea how they were going to find him.
"Do you have any clue where Ruby could be?" Carly asked, catching her breath.
"No and now we don't even have a car to get him," Dean sighed in frustration.
"We could hotwire a car?" Carly suggested.
"Yeah, we could, but we still don't know where he is...for all we know it's already too late to save him," Dean sighed.
The two went silent with thought and frustration. They didn't have a car or any clue where Sam could be. Dean and Carly could summon Ruby, but she may not give them the location, even if they tried to pry it from her. Castiel noticed their frustration and interrupted their troubled thoughts.
"I know where Sam is," Castiel said.
Dean and Carly looked toward him with furrowed brows, Dean voicing their annoyance. "So, why didn't you tell us that before we searched around the neighborhood for almost an hour?"
"I didn't think it was pertinent," Castiel said.
"Finding Sam to stop him from starting the apocalypse sounds pretty pertinent to me!" Dean snapped.
Castiel ignored Dean's rise in tone. "Since your vehicular transport is gone. Would you like me to fly you to Sam?"
"Is it safe to do that?" Carly asked.
"Yes, but you may feel some discomfort," Castiel cautioned.
Castiel grabbed one of Carly's and then one of Dean's arms. The two looked at one another just as everything went blurry. Next thing they knew they were in front of a motel room. Castiel let go of their arms as the two sat there trying to get the world around them to stop spinning.
Both of them were lightheaded and Carly got very close to puking. She imagined flying would be like Superman, but instead it was like teleporting and she did not enjoy teleporting as much as she thought she would. As she tried to keep her lunch in her stomach, Dean caught his breath and noticed the Impala parked a few feet from them.
"Where's Sam?" Carly asked.
"He's in the room right behind you," Castiel said.
Dean and Carly looked toward room 132. The lights were on within the room and there was obvious movement inside. Since Dean was feeling better then Carly he asked. "Is Ruby in there with him?"
"No, but she was here recently as her blood is still in the air. He's fed on her, so he may not go with you easily. I will step in if you cannot get him to come safely. I suggest detoxing him in a remote location because if you don't, he will go after Lilith. If she dies, Lucifer is free and the apocalypse begins," Castiel warned.
Before either of them could say a word, Castiel was gone. They both sighed in annoyance as Carly regained her composure. The two looked toward one another as they went up to the door. They would go at this calmly unless Sam made it difficult, which both of them hoped he wouldn't do.
Dean placed his hand on the doorknob and found it unlocked. He wrapped his hand around the handle and pushed the door open. Sam quickly shot off the bed and tensed up at the sight of us. He wiped at his lips, red appearing on his hand.
"How'd you find me?" Sam asked.
"Castiel showed us the way. What did you think was going to happen? Just planning to run off and kill Lilith all by yourself?" Dean asked with crossed arms.
"Yes!" Sam snapped, running a hand through his hair. "I almost attacked Carly and knew being near either of you was dangerous. I went out for air when Ruby called me, saying she had located Lilith. I knew this was my chance to take her out and so Ruby helped me strengthen up."
"Sam this is suicide!" Carly pointed out.
"Not with the power I have," Sam replied, squeezing his fists.
"Sam, come with us. We can clean you up and go at this logically. We can do this together," Dean said.
Neither Carly nor Dean mentioned the fact killing Lilith would start the apocalypse. They would tell him when his mind was clear of the demon blood's control. Then he would be able to clearly think and understand the consequences of what he planned to do.
"No, I'm doing this alone," Sam insisted.
"Just because you juiced up on Ruby's blood does not mean you can beat the first demon ever created. Let's think about this," Carly pleaded.
"There is no time to think. The longer I wait, the more people she will hurt. I am ending this now," Sam said.
Sam's hand rose into the air and Dean went flying across the room into the wall, cracking it. Carly watched Dean hit the floor with a thud as her gaze returned to Sam, a hungry glint in his eye. She pulled the knife out that she had taken from the apartment before they left.
"Sam, don't do something you'll regret," Carly warned, pointing the knife at him.
He looked down at the knife and then back up to Carly's eyes. "I am ending her Carly and you are not going to get in the way of that."
He came up to her, grabbing the hand she had on the knife and bending it backward. The pain caused Carly to drop the knife to the floor as his hand wrapped around her throat and lifted her into the air.
"Sam, stop this!" Carly gasped, clutching onto his hand.
"You would see my way of thinking if you drank demon blood as I did. Your powers would awaken and you'd become strong...powerful," Sam said.
"Yeah…" She gasped, looking him directly in the eyes. "And crazy…"
"Too bad, but I could use the extra strength," Sam said.
He used his other hand to tear the bandage away from Carly's throat and as he went in for a drink, Castiel appeared behind him. Sam only had time to turn around before Castiel placed his hand upon Sam's forehead, Sam collapsing to the floor seconds later.
As he hit the floor, Carly landed on her knees gasping for air. Dean pulled himself up and ran to Carly, helping her up and checking her throat for injuries. His angry gaze turned toward Castiel.
"What the hell was that?!" Dean snapped.
"You two couldn't handle it so I intervened. He is merely asleep and will be for quite some time," Castiel explained.
"You could've showed up sooner," Carly said, rubbing her throat. "He almost turned me into a blood bag."
"You said you two could handle it so I let you handle it. When I realized, you would fail...I stepped in. Now get him somewhere he can become clear-minded. I will return once this is done," Castiel said.
Dean went to open his mouth, but before even a word could escape Castiel was gone. The wind hit them both in the face as the room went silent. Carly and Dean looked down at Sam with a sigh.
"Where are we going to take him?" Carly asked.
"The only place that makes sense...Bobby's," Dean said.
"Are you sure he has something that can keep Sam locked up without a demon getting in?" Carly asked.
"Don't worry, Bobby has just the thing," Dean said.
The two grabbed one of Sam's arms and dragged him out to the impala. Carly was still weak from the past few days' events, but she did her best to help Dean. They got Sam outside as Dean pulled the keys from Sam's front pocket.
After unlocking the car, the two helped him into the back seat. Carly and Dean then got into the front and drove toward Bobby's. They just hoped Sam would stay asleep until they arrived.
Dean drove through the night and arrived at Bobby's by the next morning. He had called Bobby on the way, so when they arrived he was already outside. Carly opened the car door as Bobby took one of Sam's arms and Dean took the other. They placed his arms over their shoulders and walked him into the house, making their way into the basement.
Carly followed after them as they approached a giant metal door. Bobby quickly put the password into the keypad as the door unlocked and swung open. The two brought Sam into the room and laid him down on a bed in the middle of the floor. Within said room was a mirror, sink, a few tables, and the bed Sam was laying upon.
There was also a demon trap painted on the floor and another upon the ceiling. The only way in and out was the door, with no windows to be seen. Bobby called it his panic room, but it looked more like a bunker than anything else.
The three stepped out of the room and looked back at Sam, Carly voicing her concern. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"He needs to get the blood out of his system. Going cold turkey may be the only thing that works," Bobby explained.
"Won't it hurt?" Carly asked.
"Yes, most definitely,"
The three jumped, turning around to find Castiel a few feet behind them. Dean sighed with annoyance. "You need to announce your presence before appearing out of nowhere and scaring the crap out of us."
"Sorry," Castiel said, peering toward Sam. "This process will hurt, but if he consumes too much blood and kills Lilith the world will end as we know it. If this doesn't work, there is only one other option...death."
The three looked from Castiel and then back toward the open doorway. Sam was beginning to stir in the bed. So, Bobby went up to the door and closed it tight, the lock clicking loudly. He began to close the window slot in the door when Sam sat up and looked toward him.
Bobby shook his head. "This is for your own good, boy. I'm sorry."
Sam went to speak as Bobby closed the slot tight. Just as the four walked away from the door, Sam ran to it screaming and slamming his fists against the metal. The sound caused Carly to jump sky high. She tried to keep her calm, refusing to turn back as everyone went up to the main floor, Bobby locking the basement door behind them...Sam's screams echoing through the walls.
