Early the next morning, Ava came out to the living room. Fenton was getting ready for work, so Ava sat on the couch and turned on the TV and watched the news.

The news anchor was in the middle of talking about someone named Gizmoduck, who had stopped a bank robbery the day before. Some clips were shown of this hero. He wore a white and red robot suit and helmet. The suit reminded Ava of a unicycle since a wheel was where the legs would be.

As she watched the television, Fenton came into the room. He seemed much more cheerful than he did yesterday, but his voice still sounded a little sad. "Good morning, Ava. What are you watching?" When he saw Gizmoduck on the screen, he smiled. "Look who's on TV! It's Gizmoduck!"

"Who is he?" Ava asked.

"Why, none other than Duckburg's own superhero!" Fenton exclaimed while sitting by her.

Ava didn't seem impressed; she had other things on her mind and didn't really care about some guy in a metal suit.

"M'Ma is going to watch you while I go to work," Fenton told her. "I'll be back late. Don't wait up." He gave her a hug before he left.

Ever since they got back from New Stork, Fenton had been working a lot. Ava didn't know if that was normal for him or not. Either way, she barely got to see him now.

Mrs. Crackshell woke up and made breakfast, which was just cereal and milk, and she invited Ava to sit on the couch with her and watch a soap opera. They watched TV for a few hours before Mrs. Crackshell got up and said she was going to take a nap.

After Mrs. Crackshell went to bed, Ava sat on the couch with the television off, just staring at it. She thought about what had happened last night. She knew she was the reason Gandra had broken up with Fenton, even though he wouldn't admit it. This was a disaster.

In fact, everything had gone downhill ever since she had come to Duckburg. Before that, life wasn't perfect, but it was way better than it was now. Now, Ava was slowly beginning to realize that she was bad luck. Her mother hadn't wanted her, and she was just making her father's life harder.

She knew what she had to do.

Ava went to the bedroom and quietly packed her bag. There were already things in it, but she needed clothes and other stuff. When she was done, she zipped it up and left the room, carrying it. She went to the front door and looked around the trailer. As she took a deep breath, she realized she was shaky, and her eyes watered. She wiped her eyes, trying to stop the tears from falling. Finally, she opened the door and left.

This was all for the best.
