Chapter 1: Waking Up
Sora eyes opened slowly. He blinked and then sat up. He looked around. To his left was Donald still out and to his left was Goofy sitting up too and rubbing his eyes. Sora blinked again. He looked at Goofy again, he was asleep.
Sora smiled and rubbed his eyes and stood up. His legs felt weak. Just like they did after he had gotten over a major fear. Had he faced a fear in his sleep? Was that even possible? Sora didn't know so he didn't think about it. But, it was still in the back of his mind nagging him. He looked around himself. For the first time he noticed he was in a field of grass. The grass seemed never ending. A slight breeze started and it rustled the grass and went through Sora's hair, making it move slightly.
Wait… there seemed to be something wrong… It was the feeling like someone lightly touched the back of your neck and made the hair on the back of your neck stand up. For the third time he looked around. He spun himself around but couldn't find anything. Then he looked up. He saw a sliver of something flash in the moonlight.
"Could it be a star going out?" he asked himself. "No… It couldn't be… Donald, Goofy, Riku, the King and I locked Kingdom Hearts and beat Ansem." Even though he said this to himself it didn't really help. Something odd was going on.
He sat down and put his hands on top of his legs. He opened his hand and the Keyblade faded into it. It was slim with a yellow hilt in the shape of the bottom half of a key, but with a pole in the middle to hang onto. On the end was a long chain, one foot, maybe two feet long. And on the end of the chain was the King's emblem. He could recognize it anywhere.
"The Keyblade…" Sora said whirling it around in practice. The Keyblade master moved back and forth running and swinging the Keyblade. After and hour he was starting to sweat so he walked back to where Donald and Goofy were still asleep and laid down. He closed his eyes.
In his mind he went over the past hour or two. He paused for a long time after he had felt that strange thing and when he saw the sliver of something in the moonlight. It looked black… But in the moonlight it could have been a different color. Sora doubted it was the Heartless because he defeated their master. But… could it be possible that it was something else? But if so… what?
