Target Practice
There was a lot of things Vi was good at when it comes to fighting. She had the strength, the agility, the force, the martial arts skills. One thing that she didn't have was a cool head. And a cool head was essential when it came to sharpshooting. Which is the reason why Vi had no idea why Caitlyn insisted on teaching her how to shoot.
She wasn't one for long range combat. That was Caitlyn, or hell even Jinx. Vi was more of a contact fighter.
"Your hand is in the wrong place." Caitlyn stood behind her and gently adjusted Vi's grip on the rifle.
"That's what she said." Relied Vi cheekily and with a wink.
Caitlyn rolled her eyes at her partners comments, "Won't you try to take this seriously. I'm trying to teach you something here."
"I don't see why." Vi looked back at the target. It wasn't that far away but her grip was slightly shaky and she couldn't get a good hit. She was so used to her body and hands constantly on the move. Snipping took a calm and steady hand, "I prefer to let my hands do the talking anyways."
"Your hands aren't always the solution." Caitlyn stood next to Vi, taking her own rifle and showing her the proper way to hold it.
"Are you saying I'm not good with my hands Cupcake?" Vi's comment made Caitlyn blush and momentarily lose her grip, causing her to miss her target.
The sharpshooter tried to give the brawler her best dirty look but from Caitlyn it just looked like a cute pout. Vi chuckled at the sight, even when she was mad Caitlyn was adorable.
Caitlyn reloaded with a huff, "Your hands may have certain... talents." She shot a bullet, this time hitting her target right in the center, "But you can always learn more." This time it was her who winked as she fired another shot, hitting the same spot again.
Vi couldn't help the blush that made its way to her face, "Still I don't get why you insist in showing me this."
"Honestly? I want to share something I'm good at." Vi was just about to take a shot when she heard Caitlyn's confession. It was a little quiet and had she fired she probably wouldn't hear it correctly.
Vi glanced at her partner, "That's very sweet of you actually. But I think we both know..." Vi shot at the target again, the bullet just grazing the edge of it, "I'm not very cut out for this." She lowered the gun to her side.
"But you're trying. That means a lot to me." Caitlyn walked up to the Zaunite and gave her a peck on the cheek, causing Vi's blush to deepen. Sheepishly she ran her hand trough her hair.
"No problem Cupcake. Anything for you. Is that the same reason why you agreed to my boxing lessons?" Vi walked to the back wall and leaned the rifle against it. Then turned around ant into a fighting stance. She raised a brow at Caitlyn.
Caitlyn eyed her for a moment, before doing the same, "Among other things." Her eyes roamed Vi's body, taking note of the way her muscles looked. No matter how many times she's seen Vi fight, it's always a sight to behold.
Vi grinned, "Aww. Thanks Cupcake. I think you're smoking hot too. Now show me what you got."
Despite her cheeks growing hot, Caitlyn took a few jabs to Vi, which were easily deflected. Vi was quicker than she was. She had to be, she had to learn to think on her feet because her life depended on it from an early age.
Fighting was like her second nature as much as sharpshooting was Caitlyn's.
Caitlyn made eye contact with her, gray eyes locking on deep blue. Then a wink. And then Caitlyn was on the floor, blinking up at the ceiling.
"Careful Cupcake. You can't let yourself get distracted by a pretty face." Vi offered a hand.
"Good think I only pay attention to one." Caitlyn allowed herself to be pulled up, her smirk now matching Vi's.
"Yeah lucky me." This time it was Vi's turn to give Caitlyn a kiss on the cheek, "I'm gonna go shower. You can join me if you want." Vi winked over her shoulder as she walked to the bathroom.
Caitlyn rolled her eyes despite her blush. That didn't sound like a bad idea.
