And here we are. The final part of this episode.
So, long time no see for this thing. I had for so long desperately just wanted to finish this so I could ease some stress off myself.
I actually didn't know what to do with this, when I started this, I just wanted to get it out of my head, I was a foolish teenager, now looking back, this isn't one of the best things ever. Also, I highly recommend to read the Dragon Ball Super manga, because there might be some spoilers. I don't think any of you will expect the way this ends. Seeing it now, when I was younger, I wanted to drag the story on into something I now see as childish, if you want to know what it was, PM me. Now I see that dragging the story on into something like that, waste of time, not a lot of people would appeal to it, and it wouldn't make much sense.
Also, I suggest checking out a channel called Rising Fist on YouTube if you want some sort of explanation.
Disclaimer: I own nothing, nor am I any of the characters.
Chapter 14: Legion of Pirate Villains Part 4
"You..." Cell shivered, his body suddenly trembling before the mere sight of the Super Saiyan. The energy he felt, it was much stronger than it was before, that it could possibly rival Cell's current power at this very moment.
"Who else would it be," stated Vegeta as a matter of fact, but there was something different about him... he wasn't acting as arrogant as he would normally and his voice didn't hold the gruff tone he usually boasted with. "You didn't forget about me, did you?"
Panting and bruised, he could only stare ahead as he realized the fate standing before him. What had just happened? It was too much to take in all at once, knowing that even all his foresight and planning couldn't have possibly predicted this.
Vegeta meanwhile, used his senses to instantly scout out the nearby area. "Not when you still had me to contend with." Though he kept his eyes on Cell, his mind was set on finding Kakarot's brat, and some others.
Gohan's energy he located right away, where he was held by Cell's abominations... his appearance was something that surprised him... looks like he would have to break the truth once this was all said and done.
He then saw an old man, laying down next to a chest a caped man was about to open, both looking at him. Vegeta even caught a glimpse of the three children, who were stronger than the average human. In fact, they were stronger than that afro man that challenged Cell at the Cell Games all that time ago. Vegeta could only guess Gohan trained them. For now, there were more pressing matters to attend to.
"Color me impressed, you actually managed to catch me off guard, not that it seemed as if you were aiming for me," Cell congratulated, as Vegeta then floated down slowly to stand across from Cell, very far though.
He scanned around to see four others, who he guessed, seemed to be in the league with Cell.
"Tell me, Cell. Why have you aligned yourself with these fools? Surely you don't require any of their assistance, you could easily take out the three brats without lifting a finger."
"My ambitions or my reasons are of no concern to you, Vegeta."
"Let me guess, you know him," Grim interrupted as Cell nodded. "Indeed. In fact, he is in league with the boy."
"Well then, I suppose you should know who you're dealing with here, fool," Grim smirked at Vegeta, who was not threatened one bit, as Jake and his crew looked in awe and confusion.
"Such threats are irrelevant. Step down now, and we can do this the easy way, or if there is no compliance, the hard way."
"Well, I say, there is no way for you! We, are the Legion of Pirate Villains, and you have no chance against us. ShiverJack, deal with him immediately," Grim commanded as ShiverJack smirked and jumped onto the rails on top of the stairs and fired a Freeze Snap, at Vegeta who didn't even bother reacting, just standing there as still as a mountain.
As the ice beam touched him, he was completely encased in ice, as Gohan had no look of worry on his face, as Cell had one of interest... for some reason... they weren't able to sense his energy quite well.
ShiverJack laughed maniacally as he took a good look at the ice covered Super Saiyan, but then...
CRACK!
The ice broke into millions of pieces, and Vegeta was then nowhere to be seen. ShiverJack grew anxious and nervously looked around, to find the Saiyan Prince, as well as the rest of the Legion, but Cell and Gohan already knew of his every location he jumped to.
"Curses, where is tha-"
ShiverJack was instantly silenced, doubling over in front of the Saiyan, the same Saiyan who had just viciously slammed his left fist through his stomach. Vegeta's arm was deep inside ShiverJack's stomach, leaving the ice wizard sputtering with pain, dropping his staff.
Jake and his crew, besides Gohan who growled, were horrified, and so were the rest of the Legion, besides Cell of course who was smirking.
"Yay hey, no way!" Izzy exclaimed, trembling at the sight. She and her friends had heard stories of Vegeta, and his past, but seeing him in the flesh, murdering someone, right in front of them, was more traumatizing then hearing of it.
ShiverJack slurred through a mouthful of blood. "You... you..."
With that, Vegeta fired a violent ki blast that went through ShiverJack and sent him flying back and crashing hard against the wall. He was dead before he even hit the floor.
Jake and his crew, were on the edge of throwing up, as Cubby was silently crying to himself, not only because that ShiverJack was brutally murdered before his very eyes, but also because of the thought that any of Gohan's friends would do such a thing, and actually enjoy it. But this was Vegeta, and that's how he was. And this was nothing compared to the trillions he eliminated during his job on the Frieza Force half a decade ago.
"VEGETA! You didn't have to kill him!" Gohan scolded loudly. "He couldn't even hurt us if he tried!"
Vegeta sneered at Gohan's softhearted nature. "If they're allied with Cell, then they're on my hit list," he spoke at a remarkably calm tone.
"Don't think you've actually accomplished anything by killing that fool."
Vegeta smiled at Cell's snide remark, as Grim, Hook and Dr. Undergear were still in horror that one of their comrades had been killed, and Cell didn't care one bit.
"However, I'm quite curious as to what makes you think you could defeat me. Wherever you've been, biding your time, cowering in shame, quivering in fear, I'm afraid you've missed out on many events. I have grown much stronger since we've parted ways during the unfortunate event. And as such, you have absolutely no idea what I'm capable of in this new state!"
"Your ridiculous assumptions are laughably pathetic, as if I would flee battle rather than stand and fight. I'd have expected a being claiming to have my DNA inside of him to be above such menial insults. Then again, you always were blindly in love with your so-called perfection, weren't you?" the Saiyan spat, considering how best to humiliate the monster. How stunned he must have been when a mere child surpassed his precious perfection. To this day, he still remembered the look on his face!
It was at this moment, Grim had decided to flee, as well as the rest of the Legion, not wanting to die, but as they tried to exit, they were blocked by the energy shield that still existed. They tried their hardest to break the purple shield, but all attempts were futile, as Cell chuckled.
"You might as well enjoy the show. You won't be leaving for a very long time." Cell then used his telekinesis to bring the rest of the Legion back down to the floor, causing them to writhe in pain, and agony. Jake and his crew had decided, as an act of mercy, to help Grim and the others to safety, as well as Captain Colossus inside the stronghold.
"I suggest you keep you and your little friends in line so they don't get in my way," Cell ordered.
"Funny, I was going to say the same," Vegeta spoke, earning a dubious look from the emerald menace as he stonily stared back.
"Nice to see you haven't lost any of your pointless bravado," Cell replied with a taunting grin.
"I have more than words to back it up," the Saiyan Prince remarked, all while a wry smirk formed around his face as a glint of eagerness entered his cold black eyes. "And you're about to witness it firsthand."
"Is that so? Last I remembered, you didn't even match up to Goku's strength. I suggest you stay out of this and wait for the cavalry to make their presence."
"The Prince of all Saiyans cowers before no one. Not Frieza or any of his family, not any mechanical abomination made by that senile, old bastard, and certainly not you!"
"Not even true perfection?" Cell snickered, but Vegeta had plans to mock him of his perfection.
"Well, news flash, it does not matter what world you may be in, nothing perfect exists. It may be a cliché after all but it's the way things are."
Cell frowned, starting to get annoyed by the Saiyan as he went on with his rant. "Here's what's perfect, when you actually work to achieve the strength, one wields. All you did was absorb two bratty androids to add up to your strength, and what did you do next, steal our own moves which we took time to create and master, and make an attempt to self-destruct, knowing full well you'd simply get stronger, even without Kakarot making his noble sacrifice. If anything, I say you are far from perfect!"
Cell's aura immediately flared in anger as the ground shook, meaning he was ready to grind the royal Saiyan into dust. Oh, how he longed for this. He had two chances to do this, but was interrupted the first time, and was thwarted the second. Now, there would be no annoyances this time to get in the way of the battle. "Well then, I suppose the time has come for you to receive the same fate I dealt your loving son."
Vegeta's smirk immediately faltered, and with that, the two combatants charged, immediately launching themselves at each other with their own respective attacks.
Vegeta was the first to take off as he took the initiative first, hailing a number of kicks, knife-hand swipes, jabs, finally swirling his body around to finish with a powerful dual palm-heel thrust strike.
Cell managed to absorb most of the blows on his forearms and shins, but felt pangs of pain crawl up and down his skin. The force was undeniable, and the Bio-Android knew his enemy had practically evened out in terms of raw power with himself.
Jettisoning off the ground, Vegeta somersaulted in the air before bringing down a dual-ax kick strike. Darting to the side to avoid the attack, rather than block it head-on, Cell rolled across the ground as the force of the kick indented the ground. Leaping up into the air, Cell flew towards Vegeta while charging a dual set of green orbs of energy in each hand.
He thrusted his arms up and fired them as they combined into one large beam, and in the air, Vegeta put both of his arms in front of him to try to block the blast. The bright green energy beam made contact with both of Vegeta's hands as he kept being pushed upwards into the sky bit by bit.
Vegeta had soon begun to push down Cell's beam by trying to fly straight into it, using a move very similar to Frieza's Nova Strike. But Cell still had the upper hand as he was much stronger than a Full Power Super Saiyan. Soon, Vegeta decided he wasn't going to go through with this trivial game as he immediately flew to the side towards Cell, which was something he took notice of.
The half-Saiyan immediately noticed that Vegeta was a bit faster than before, no doubt from having mostly recovered from his fight with Cell as well as from his possible exercises under increasing gravity levels, and intense training while he was gone. However, Cell had recovered as well, and considering the beating he took during the past few fights, he was much stronger than before, and thus a step ahead of Vegeta. He was blocking Vegeta's attacks with ease, but for some reason, the Prince wasn't getting agitated at all.
Cell phased out of sight and Vegeta looked around, trying to get a feel for Cell's presence. He managed to pinpoint where his location was, firing a ki blast at the night sky. Cell soon jumped to the floor and dashed towards Vegeta, but now he was the one who was disappearing. Cell inwardly cursed himself that he let his Saiyan prey slip away from his sight so easily, and it seemed he was masking his power level well. He was going to have try and use his other senses to detect where Vegeta was. He tried to focus his ears in attempt to pick up the sounds of his feet. His concentration was broken, however, when he felt the man's arm wrap around his neck.
Cell growled in frustration, preparing himself to break himself out of Vegeta's tight grip, but the Prince drove his knee into his spine. Vegeta then rocked Cell with a brutal punch right in the back of the head, dizzying the giant creation of Dr. Gero. Cell's brows furrowed rigidly as he charged towards Vegeta and threw several punches at him. Cell managed to land a devastating kick to Vegeta's jaw that sent him crashing right into the walls of the stronghold, leaving a good dent in it. As Vegeta sank to the floor, Cell caught up to him fairly quickly and kicked Vegeta in the chest, sending him into the wall.
Vegeta hit it with a loud thud and sank in a seated position on the floor, and quickly sprung back up to his feet. Cell fixed Vegeta with a maddening grin, taking every opportunity to revel in his new superiority. Vegeta raised both of his arms and charged a lethal amount of ki to them. He released it in the form of dozens of small blasts, forcing Cell to have to either dodge or deflect them. However, while he was busy with the tiny blasts, he didn't even see the considerably large ki wave heading his way. He realized its presence too late, taking the blast head on and falling to the floor in a heap of pain.
Vegeta wasted no time in taking advantage, flipping into the air and then driving both of his knees into Cell's stomach. Still in a crouched position, Vegeta grabbed Cell's ankle and tossed him several feet back, and then zipped up to the Bio-Android and viciously slammed his elbow into Cell's neck, ramming him into the wall. Cell let out a gurgled cough, feeling his breath dangerously tighten from the pressure of Vegeta's arm.
Cell weakly gasped for air before doing the only thing he figured would make sense given his predicament – he fired a ki blast right at Vegeta's face, which he dodged with ease, leaning his body to the right as it destroyed more of the sacred building.
"As expected of you. I knew for a fact you wouldn't skip a second of what precious time you had to train," Vegeta commented as Cell chuckled. "All compliments aside, I believe it's time we skip the warmup. Wouldn't you say?"
"At last, something we can agree on," the Bio-Android replied, as he wasted no time powering up to the max, but as he saw again, there was no visible change from Vegeta's face.
"To think this much time has passed... the only way I'm going to break this to you is if I show you through fists."
Cell raised an eyebrow. "What are you speaking of? You know it doesn't matter if you've attained the same form Goku's son has."
"I'm not talking about that... I'm speaking about a completely different line of evolution... once that transcends all sorts of power you've grown accustomed to."
At this point, the creation of Dr. Gero begun to believe Vegeta was now just trying to buy some time for one of three things, himself, the kids, or for the cavalry to arrive, a.k.a. Goku and his friends. The only issue is, he didn't sense them anyway, nor did he sense Vegeta earlier at all for some strange reason, but he quickly assumed he was just being careless, vowing to never make such a foolish error to correct again.
He expected the hothead just to jump to the same level Gohan had before they were whisked away to this dimension, but then it begun.
Out came a form, like no other ever recorded within the mortal plains for many years.
Vegeta took a very noticeable change, in appearance and in power, and he had skipped the dramatic fanfare and events, and made it simple.
Now even Gohan was shocked.
He couldn't sense Vegeta at all, it was if he was nonexistent, but he was still standing before him.
The Saiyan Prince was surrounded within a dark purple outline, and the same went for hair and eye color, once again confusing everyone around him.
What is this? There's no database on such a transformation like this! inwardly exclaimed Cell. I can't make heads or tails out of this new form at all... although purple, how humorous. He can't be all that much powerful with such a ridiculous hue.
He had no idea how wrong he was.
"Let me in on something, freak," spat Vegeta. "Do you believe in godhood?"
"W... where are you getting with this?! TELL ME!" averred Cell, blissfully unaware of his incoming fate.
"You have no idea how much I've been holding back at all, do you? At this point, between you and I, we're comparing twenty kittens to a cheetah, the end is result is easily predictable."
Cell's eyes twitched, before he smirked out of nowhere. "Is that a fact? Well, why don't we test that theory, and see just who exactly is starring as the cheetah in this show..."
With swift motion, he placed his fingers to his head, and immediately whisked out of everyone's sight, making everyone falter, but Vegeta.
Gohan, meanwhile, was still desperately trying to figure out the enigma that was this strange power emitting from his former enemy turned ally. This was certainly no ordinary Super Saiyan, perhaps another evolution to it like his own Super Saiyan 2.
But wait a minute, Vegeta had fought Cell as a standard Super Saiyan, yet both of them were toe to toe with each other during that ordeal, it was seemingly impossible to tell who had the advantageous hand.
Then, behind him...
"VEGETA, LOOK OUT!"
He didn't react to the chop to his head. He was as still as a statue in fact. This was all very amusing to him, as well as satisfying.
Cell kept on with the barrage, hitting the shorty from every angle possible, trying to get any sort of reaction out of him, but he was like his old ways, an unfeeling ghost who just fought and killed for Frieza.
Cell kept on hitting him over and over again...
And again...
And again...
And again...
There was still no reaction.
"QUIT MOCKING ME, YOU BLATHERING IDIOT!" screeched the festered Cell as he continued to pummel Vegeta to no avail, as everyone else watched stunned. Gohan had assumed this was like on Namek where his father fought the Ginyu Force on Planet Namek, where the melee attacks of Burter and Jeice seemed to be phasing through him when in reality, he was actually moving too fast for them to see clearly, opposed to the circumstance before him, where he knew those hits connected, and Vegeta was just refusing to lay a finger, or even budge. He remembered him to always be so vain and egotistical... but before the Kamehameha clash, he remembered the apology Vegeta had uttered to him. Was that moment supposedly the start of this change in behavior and power?
For Cell, perhaps another tactic was in order, and it certainly wasn't anything original in the slightest.
"YOU THINK YOU'RE SO TOUGH, TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE!" hollered Cell as he flew up over the colosseum, cupping his hands together in front of him, charging up a similar attack that the Prince had done to him before the Cell Games. The area was getting incredibly risky to be around, as the rocks began to crumble around him, the waves around the island were growing stronger, the birds were fleeing, even Wildfire had immediately fled the scene. Although he was loyal to his captain, he was positive there was no escape for anyone that was stuck to the ground.
Vegeta, down below, gazed his eyes above, stoically. He was almost half tempted to turn 180 degrees just to play around with Cell, but he decided against it. Why not let his face be the first thing that comes out of the smoke unscathed, that should really give the bastard a scare he would forever relish in his dreams.
Jake, as hard as he tried, couldn't find a way out of this predicament, the whole place was covered within a forcefield, and the attack had the magnitude to destroy the whole island, but he was heavily underplaying this.
"This is too ridiculous, even for me!" Hook hollered, scared out of his mind as the structure above them crumbled, pointing an accused finger at the Grim Buccaneer. "I did not sign up for any of this, making a deal with that monstrosity was the worst possible decision you could have made, Grim!"
"How was I supposed to know this was going to be the outcome, dunderhead!?" argued Grim. "I never anticipated this, Vegeta's arrival, or his interference! If anything, all of these children are the ones who are to blame for bringing us all to our impending doom!"
As they all argued on who's at fault for their upcoming death's, Cell could hardly contain his glee to obliterate Vegeta once and for all. All that bravo earlier, just a fluke! A damn fluke and he was going to prove it! The power that was coursing through his veins was that of such he could only dream of, and he let it all out.
"FINAL FLASH!"
The yellow energy beam surged out of Cell's hands and rocketed at super speeds towards the colosseum, everyone but Vegeta shielding their eyes from the binding light. The full-blooded Saiyan just stood there, as the beam completely consumed him, none of the energy bouncing out of the area whatsoever.
It had taken a few seconds for the giant to notice, but the energy beam was beginning to get smaller and weaker.
How though?
It eventually came to the point, where the Final Flash was completely extinguished, and at the bottom, was the undamaged Saiyan.
Undamaged.
There was but a scratch on him.
No blood.
His feet were still heavily planted in the same location.
"Are you finished?"
He was too frozen in shock to respond.
And then it came.
It was as if 35 thousand tons of a freight train had drove straight into his abdomen.
He clutched it, coughing abruptly as he floated down to the ground, trying to catch a breather.
A whisk, and Vegeta was in front of him again.
"H... how?" bumbled Cell. "I didn't even see you move!"
The Saiyan's right index and middle fingers were lifted towards him within imperceptible speed.
Not a word was uttered, but an unnerving sensation arose.
His hour had arrived.
He began to evaporite into nothing, slowly.
"What's happening?! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?"
He got no answer, only the cold, cold eyes of the Saiyan Prince.
Particle by particle.
Atom by atom.
Molecule by molecule.
Cell by cell.
With his final seconds, he lunged forward.
"VEGETAAAAAAAaaaa-"
The white index finger disappeared an inch in front of his face, and was never even able to make contact before the trump card of the Red Ribbon Army was eradicated completely.
The force field around the area had also come down.
Now for the Juniors, and it wasn't really that much of a fight. A few seconds after they let go of Gohan and charged towards him, they had disappeared in clouds of smoke, with the Saiyan's hair blowing with the wind slightly.
He had definitely moved from that spot.
Vegeta heaved a sigh of relief, a heavy weight now being lifted off his shoulder. He had done this multiple times, and it was nothing new to him now. He wasn't going to flinch by something he caused, especially if the target was now significantly weaker than him. His form faded away, now heading back to his onyx hair and eyes, which now darted to the inside of the colosseum, prompting all who hid within to approach him.
The half-Saiyan was the first to emerge from their hiding spot, with his friends slowly creeping behind, and Skully resting on Jake's shoulder. The rest of the Legion decided to stay put for their own safety, now wanting to go through the same ordeal as Cell or ShiverJack.
"I want all of you, out here!"
His voice wasn't all that high, but it was very commanding and threatening, enough to send chills down all of their spines, quickly obeying Vegeta, running up behind Jake and his crew. All three of them shivered and trembled, despite their statures, being taller than the being all but one feared, that being the only other alien amongst them.
"Vegeta..."
Gohan and the taller Saiyan looked each other in the eyes, the adult kneeling down, uncharacteristically. The youth had never seen the Prince act like this before in his life.
Now, placing his hands on his shoulders, was something else. The only physical contact the two ever made was through physical combat, not through these sorts of gestures.
"Gohan... do you have any idea, how long you've been here?" Vegeta quietly questioned, confusion incredibly evident. "You still look as young as the day we lost you... yet it's been years..."
He had prepared for this moment, yet it was still so hard, and seeing him in this youthful state was only making all the more worse for him to bear the news to the naïve Gohan. It shouldn't be this vacillate.
"Years? What do you mean, Vegeta? It's only been a few days," chuckled Gohan, something crawling into the back of his brain, a thought he hoped wasn't true. If Vegeta mentioned years, it shouldn't have been too long, right?
They watched Vegeta pull out a strange looking gun, and fiddle with a small circle in the middle of it, along with some other buttons.
"I'm sorry... I don't know how to explain this... I... I think it's best if you follow me."
He didn't like the sound of that one bit.
What could possibly have happened while he was away?
And on that note, where were his friends, and Piccolo and Chi-Chi?
Where was Goku?
