Summary:
Six brothers and sisters. Six times the matchmakers.
Something wasn't right.
The floors were mopped. The tables were wiped. The menus were straightened and in their places. The bags of fresh cooked meals Kazuki usually had to pick up were missing.
His brothers and sisters were lined up by number, their hands behind their backs, leaning forward on their toes when Kazuki came in.
"Niichan, welcome back!" the first three chirped.
"Welcome back, Niichan!" the second three restated.
"Ah yeah. Hi. You guys…What's going on?"
"What do you mean, Niichan?" all six of them answered as a group.
Okay. Creepy.
"Look, whatever's up, please tell Niichan where you moved the customers' takeout. Niichan's gotta get folks their food on time, y'know?"
"No need! We already delivered them for you, Niichan!"
"Yes! We did all your restaurant chores!"
"Ohh, you guys! You didn't have to do that! Niichan would've handled it, y'know?"
Kazuki was relived the group talk wasn't because his family was possessed by Empty Shadows or anything. They were just trying to be helpful, the cute little lot!
"KAZUKI, are you there?"
"HIRO? You in the bathroom?"
"I've been trapped in here this entire time!"
"Why? It wasn't our food, was it? We're careful about that sorta stuff, y'know?"
"Trust me, I know! Your siblings won't let me out!"
"My – You guys, why were you holding Hiro hostage in the bathroom? Not cool, y'know?"
"Date-o! Date-o! Date-o!" the first three shouted.
"Date! Date! Date!" the second three hollered.
"DATE?" Hiro's muffled voice sprang from the other side of the door. "They want us to DATE?"
"I guess they want us to date!" Kazuki shrugged.
"Ask them if I agree if they'll let me out!"
Six heads bobbed up and down.
Six children stopped blocking the entrance/exit.
Hiro fell out onto Kazuki.
"Hiro?"
"The one. And! ONLY!" Hiro gasped for clean air.
