Title: One Last Smile

A/N: Hi. Dinner brainstorming. That's all I can say.

Summary: Who knew a faint, dying smile could change a person's life?
She lies there in all her fading glory, her eyes faint with the expression of a dying person. She clings onto his hand slightly as he withdraws back into his shell even further than he has ever gone.
Her hair is released from their usual prison; no ribbon binds it together.
And, ironically, she is free too. To spread her wings and kick off towards the blue, blue cloudless sky. To leave him and everyone else behind.
"Tenten…" He whispers raggedly. He clutches tightly at her cold, suddenly pale hand.
"Neji," She replies firmly, albeit a little tiredly, with more strength than a dying person should have.
Since when did everything change? Since when was she the strong one; he the weak one?
"Don't go…" He says, white eyes, for once, holding a flicker of emotion.
The sides of her lips twitch. Reaching for his dirtied face, (is that a tear strain on the side?) she gently brushes the pale skin. His tense muscles relax slightly under her feather light touch.
"I'll be okay," She responds. "So will you." She adds quite firmly.
"No…no, I won't…" His eyes are closed, and he takes comfort in her touch on his cheek.
"Neji," She calls. "Promise me. Promise me that you'll always remember me. Promise me…" Her voice breaks, and she pauses, taking in a deep breath.
"Promise me you'll always love me." She chokes out.
"I promise," he says almost inaudibly.
She leans up to hug him, and they breathe in each other's scent, for the last time.
She retreats back into her original position, and does the last thing he expects her to do.
She pulls his head down to hers, and their lips meet, sealing their last kiss, their last bittersweet moment together. Sealing her to him, and him to her. Always.
Breaking away slowly, painfully, she manages to mumble, "I love you," and awards him with her last, faint smile.
His eyes widen. No way…
He has just sealed her fate.
And he can only watch helplessly as she closes her eyes, for the final time.
She dies that night, with her love's name lingering on her lips.
A/N: -smile- Eheheheh…right. Cyn, hope you liked this one! This will be my slightly angsty/serious one-shot, in which 'he kills her'. Evilness. XD There's also another NejiTen chappie fic I'm starting, so hope you all review that one too.

Er…about the 'he has just sealed her fate' part, remember, she kissed him. If he didn't kiss her back, then she would still be able to regain her breath. –smile- I'm so freaking evil, eh?
