A/N: First story. I really don't know what it's about yet. Well I sorta do. It's about--oh wait. :P Ahaha. giggles I'm dilirous. whee And yes. It doesn't have a name...yet. :P

Mary drifted off into her own little world. In this world, her parents were normal, her three brothers were nice, people liked that she was different, and her friends didn't lie.

"Mary!"

She came back to the real world. Everyone was laughing at her. Mary glanced at John. He was imitating a blank stare she was sure was hers seconds before. Laura was whispering to her 'groupies.' The only one who wasn't laughing was the new girl, Jamie, who was too absorbed in her book.

"Mary! You had your hand up! Do you know what the answer is or not?" Mary was usually a great student. She got all A's and all the teachers adored her.

"Um... Can you repeat the question, Mrs. Williams?" She tried to ignore all of the giggles surrounding her.

The rest of math seemed to go by painfully slow.

The bell rang and Mary got her books together drearily. Like a normal teenager's, Mary's life was getting stressed out and sad. (A/N: I had no idea how to describe that, so bear with me, even though it's lame) She made her way to her locker, got her things for Computers, and heard a familiar voice a few lockers down.

"...such a freak. We cannot tell her about our sleepover on Saturday. Mary would completely ruin it."

Mary looked up casually and felt a pang in her throat. Kristy and Jenna were, of course, talking about her. She felt tears develop in her eyes.

Well, this was the usual, wasn't it? Her best friends stabbing her in the back and lying to her face.

Oh no, she thought. Kristy, her best friend from forever was walking toward her. She wiped her eyes and buried her head in her locker, pretending to look for a pencil. She couldn't let Kristy see her crying. Kristy always cared about Mary and swore to her that she'd kick anyone's butt if they made her best friend sad or mad. (Not that Mary couldn't stand up for herself) Mary didn't think that Kristy would be too thrilled about kicking Jenna's and her own butt.

"You know how you wanted me to go up north with you this weekend?" Kristy said in her fast-talking, honeysweet voice, "Well guess what. Melody thought it would be perfect for her to go to Cedar Point with Kate this weekend. And you know Mom's rule."

"Yeah," said Mary. Ms. Andrews had a rule that both of her daughters couldn't both go places at the same time. Ms. Andrews said she really got lonely without one, that she couldn't stand having both of them gone. "Yeah," Mary said again.

Wow, she thought, Kristy actually sounded sincerely sorry she couldn't come. She's a better liar than I thought.

"Yeah, that's, um, okay. I'll ask Brian or something," Mary said, her face still buried in her locker.

"Didn't he call you? Brian, I mean. He says he has strep throat. He'll be gone all week," said Kristy, sounding actually happy at her friend's misfortune.

"Yeah, well, I've got to i go /i , Kristy," Mary snapped as she shoved past Kristy.

"Right. Gym, right?" asked Kristy as she caught up with Mary.

"No. Computers," Mary said with a grunt. She needed to get away from Kristy. She flung open the door of the computer lab as Kristy waved bye. She walked to her assigned seat and sat down to the cut new boy, Tim.

Finally, Mary thought as she logged on to the computer and typed her favorite website in the searchbar, Best class of the day.

A/N: Brian is her best boy friend. No romance there. Sorry. :P They've been really close for a long time. And let's see if you can find some foreshadowing involving some of the students...
