Uzume was happily munching a small bag of animal crackers that EXE gave her. "You're quite hungry, huh?" EXE asked in his usual distant, and cold manner. Uzume nodded, crumbs dotting her cheeks. After finishing the crackers, Uzume stood and dusted her hands. Then wiped her mouth.
"Why don't you eat Exsy?" Uzume asked and EXE stayed silent. Uzume frowned and left their room. She passed by many people. Women, children, babies, elderly, men, orphans, families, all of them are different, but all of them have one thing in common. They are suffering, because the goddess doesn't care about them.
'Why doesn't she help them?' Uzume wondered. Why is Iris Heart not helping her nation? "Ahh, Uzume, where are you going?" An elderly woman asked. She is holding an orphaned infant in her arms. Uzume has no idea if the baby is related to her or not.
"Uzume doesn't know Ms. Fami, she wants to do something, but it's like everything hates her," Uzume explained to the old lady, Ms. Fami. "Uzume, honey, actually, I do have a favor to ask. Can you give this note to my son? I'm too swamped with Little B-Sha here," Ms. Fami explained, and Uzume was given a piece of folded paper.
"It's got his address on here, this would give this old lady some peace of mind," Ms. Fami smiled and Uzume gladly accepted the task and rushed off. "Oh! And tell EXE that he should leave his room sometime!" Ms. Fami yelled after Uzume. "Okay!" Uzume chirped from a distance.
Uzume left the abandoned apartment complex. Onto the busy streets of Planeptune. She looked at the address on the note. 'He's in the Tojo District? Oooh! Uzume has never been there before!' Uzume squeed in her mind. Excited at the possibility to explore more of Planeptune.
Planeptune is seperated into many districts. The Neo Arcadia District is where The Guild, Basilicom, and other administrative facilities are held. The Casino Night Zone is the red light district of Planeptune. The Tojo District is the middle class, residential district. The rich and high class live in the Marble Zone. There is The Commercial District for general shopping and trade. Finally, The Zero District, where the poor lives, and the criminal underworld thrives.
Uzume lives in the Zero District. She puts the note in the pouch on her leg. Before continuing her invigorated stroll. "Take that you waste of space!" A gravelly voice yelled from an alleyway. Uzume stopped to see four men, beating a homeless person.
Uzume looked around, no one is stopping to help. She has seen this before, EXE told her to ignore the plights of others. However, hatred burned inside Uzume. 'Uzume won't let this happen again!' She swore. Gritting her teeth, her body moving on it's own. Her dark purple eyes becoming dull, and seemingly without pupils. Giving her an empty, and soulless look about her.
Uzume's footsteps caught the punks' attention. "Well, look what we have here," One punk chuckled as the four began to surround Uzume. They sniggered and pushed her shoulders. 'People haven't changed, they never change,' Uzume growled in her head.
"If you think you can stop our fun, you can think again," A punk smirked. Uzume was giving them a sharp, and empty glare. Uncaring and callous as she observed them. "When you see us, you bow your head, fool," The same punk looked to his friends as they all smiled deviously.
"And to warm us up, let's have your wallet girlie," the punk held out his hand. Uzume looked at his hand without saying a word. Like she was handed dogshit. "What is it? Too busy pissing your pants to talk?" The man got in her face.
Without saying anything, Uzume socked the man in the jaw. Sending him to the floor. Uzume kicked his stomach, sending him flying into the trash. She then quickly punched the second man in the stomach. He folded over her fist, and coughed up blood and spit. He was knocked out.
The third man tried to punch Uzume. Strange, foreign but familiar instincts pushed her to effortlessly tilt her head and slightly crouch to avoid the wild haymaker. Then, Uzume grabbed the man by the collar. Then pushed him against the wall. She grabbed his face, and slammed his head against the brick wall of the alleyway. Over and over and over and over and over again.
Then she chopped him in the shoulder, sending him crumpling to the ground. She turned to the last guy, who whimpered and went to the ground. Bowing his head to Uzume. She stalked over to him, her face displaying no pity or anything really. Like a puppet or automaton acting on base instinct.
"S-Sorry! I'm sorry... I'm sorry!" The last punk profusely apologized. Uzume shut him up with a swift kick to his face. Now all four punks are unconscious and no longer a threat. Uzume looked to the victim, a fellow homeless person.
She coldly walked to the man. 'I hate these disgusting filthy vermin. They'll just discard me the moment they get bored of me,' Uzume thought, as a small voice in the back of her mind was telling her to stop. Before she made a grave mistake.
"Thank you! T-Thank you so much!" The man went on his knees and bowed. EXE, Ms. Fami, and the other unfortunate people flashed through Uzume's mind. The genuine gratitude on his face made Uzume's sharp features soften. Her dark purple eyes become bright and, human again.
She helped the man up. "I'll pay you back somehow! I swear!" The man shook Uzume's hand. "Believe in me... Have faith in me," Uzume requested her voice losing it's high pitch and girliness for a second. The man nodded. "Okay, I will repay this debt," the man said before he ran off.
Strangely, Uzume felt a bit stronger, and invigorated. "Uzume feels so much better after helping someone. If she can help one person. Can she help this nation?" Uzume wondered, her voice and mannerisms returning to normal.
When she made it to the Tojo District, Uzume was floored at how different it was. Actual houses instead of a bunch of shantytowns and apartments clustered together. Families roaming the streets, unafraid. It's like a bunch of suburbs. With yards, cars, and cleaner conditions. Yet, something didn't sit right with Uzume.
Uzume followed the address to a simple two story house. She walked up the porch, and knocked on the door. A young man in business atire answered the door after a minute. "What do you want?" He asked, looking exhausted and stressed.
"Oh! Hi! Uzume has a letter from your mommy!" Uzume chirped, handing him the note. The man opened it, and skimmed over it. "I don't want anything from the old hag," the young man threw the note in Uzume's face. Her face becoming one of shock.
"But, Ms. Fami loves, no she wuvs you. Uzume can see that, why don't you want the note?" Uzume asked. The young man scoffed, "Leave my property, that skank can rot in whatever hole she crawled out of." He slammed the door in Uzume's face.
Uzume looked at the letter. She walked off the porch while reading it.
Dear Willy
I know we haven't been on the best of terms. I just want to say, i'm proud of you. A nice house, wife, and children. I don't think I have long left. My old heart can't take the stress like it used to.
You've always had such a brilliant mind. I think you can make it big in science if you tried. Anyway, I want to meet up with you before I go. I hope this letter reaches you. I want to see your face one last time. I think that would help me pass on without regrets.
I love you, and I always will.
Love
Mom
Uzume realized what felt off about the Tojo District. It felt the same as the Zero District. The people don't care about one another. Uzume looked at the towering Basilicom. She shook her head. Even with money, people don't change. Maybe they just get worse.
Uzume made it back to the apartment complex. Some homeless men walked up to her. Leading them, was the men she saved. "Hey Uzume, we wanna thank you for saving Clyde over here, we thought we lost him," One said, he shook her hand. "The name's Blinker, that's Ink, Pinko, and you already met Clyde," Blinker introduced their gang.
Blinker wore a distinctive red bandana around his mouth, along with a beanie. Along with a fluffy jacket and trousers. Ink has a turquoise hoodie tied around his waist. Wearing jeans and old boots. Ink has navy eyes and a bald head, and a baby blue tank top with purple letters that say 'Top Nep'.
Pinko has red skin, like he's angry or blushing all over with thick sunglasses, he is shirtless. He wears black trousers and pink, studded shoes that belong on a little girl. Clyde wore a brown hoodie and jeans. He has hazel eyes, and messy blonde hair. Brown, scuffed boots and ripped jeans.
"Damn, I heard you busted some moves. You're like some super star or somethin'. I just wanna hug you girl!" Ink exclaimed sobbing in joy, he engulfed Uzume in a strong hug. Pinko gave a thumbs up, his facial expression not changing in the slightest.
"Seriously, I would be dead without you. If you need anything, anything at all, let us know," Clyde thanked Uzume once more. Blinker pulled the crying Ink off Uzume.
"Quit embarrassing us you stupid son of a $@%#! You always pull this @%! Stop crying like a @$#*% $@%!" Blinker cursed, his temper overloading. Clyde sighed as Ink began to cry even more which caused Blinker to yell more. Pinko dragged the two off, so the other occupants weren't disturbed.
"Sorry, but we'll do anything for you Uzume!" Clyde swore. "Uzume just wants to be believed in. She felt stronger when you did it Clydesy! So she wants all of you to believe in her. Uzume feels so good when that happens!" Uzume chirped and Clyde nodded vigorously before running off.
Uzume went upstairs to see EXE, sitting in the corner, as usual. Uzume sat down on the coat that is her mattress. "Exsy? Would you believe in Uzume?" Uzume asked. "Believe in you? Why would I believe in anything?" EXE asked.
"Because Uzume realized that Planeptune needs help. She's gonna change it. To get the meanie goddess Iris Heart to change her ways! I need your help Exsy. Everyone in the apartment says your super strong! Like super duper strong!" Uzume explained and EXE gave a bitter laugh.
"Iris Heart won't change, she always gets her way. She only cares about the other CPUs. Not us, I thought she cared when I was one of her personal agents. I learned, that if you aren't a cute girl or CPU, Iris Heart sees you as expendable," EXE explained.
Uzume didn't say a word, she just sat down next to EXE. Giving him a hug, she feels cold metal under the brown cloak. "Uzume..?" EXE asked, not having felt loving contact in so long. Uzume hugged him even tighter.
"Please, believe in Uzume. She hates this place, but she wants it to change. Uzume doesn't want people to suffer any longer. After today, she wants to change this place. Please Exsy, believe in Uzume," Uzume requested.
"I'm sorry, I just can't believe in anything anymore," EXE said and Uzume seperated from him. "Then i'll show you that I can be someone you can believe in," Uzume swore in a deeper, almost hypnotic and sinister voice. EXE's crimson eyes widened at Uzume dropping the girliness.
Uzume's mannerisms and voice returned to normal. "Good night Exsy, don't let the beddy buggies bite!" She chirped before curling up under the small blanket. An hour later, EXE floated up, and towards the shivering Uzume. He took off his cloak, and laid it over her.
EXE's body is a robotic one. A black, sleek body almost like a one piece bodysuit. Purple lines travel up the body. Yellow spiked shoulder pads. White gloves with black bracers. The ends of the bracers are colored yellow. Yellow greaves, and a circular attachment on his chest, like a core.
He clenched his fists, not feeling his fingers dig into his palm. He used to be fully human. Now he's just a failure. Branded as a criminal, one of Iris Heart's lost toys. 'Uzume, whatever it is you want, it won't work,' EXE sighed in his mind.
So, if you're confused on what EXE looks like. Look up Bass.exe, he's basically that. Without the helmet, and orange wild hair. That's what EXE looks like.
I had fun creating more Planeptune lore. I'm sad we never get to actually explore the nations in the mainline games.
