One year ago, a little girl was accidentally left home alone while her parents and their friends all went to Paris. When she was, she got caught up with four criminals who wanted to rob her house. With a series of traps and such, that little girl named Nashi Dragneel was able to outsmart those four criminals and the police ended up catching all four of them. Now... Nothing much has changed.
"Where's my purse?!"
"Has anyone seen my bag?!" The Dragneel house was just as crazy this year as it was before. Everyone is moving around from one spot to the next. They have another big trip planned and it was a little crazy in that house like before with so many people inside. As for Nashi, she was with her parents in their room as her mother, Lucy, was finishing packing herself while Nashi was watching television.
"Looking for a place to stay? Come down to the Plaza Hotel in New York, one of the best hotels in New York with a rating of five stars." A commercial was advertising a hotel in New York with Nashi taking a recorder and recorded the message.
"Nashi, did you remember to pack a spare set of clothes?" Lucy asked.
"Nashi, did you pack some spare clothes?"
"Got it!" Ever since Nashi got that recorder, she kept playing around with it.
"Why do you love that thing so much?" Lucy asked with amusement in her voice.
"It's a lot of fun. I can think of other ways to use it." Nashi said.
"Well, do you have everything you need for Miami?" Lucy asked.
"Yeah..." Nashi moaned. "Why are we going to Miami? It won't feel much like Christmas there. There won't be any snow or actual Christmas trees."
"It will be a lot of fun." Lucy said as she tried to convince her daughter to try and enjoy the trip. She could tell Nashi still wasn't excited. "Nashi, the snow I might understand, but how come you're not happy that there won't be Christmas trees?"
"How can you have Christmas without a tree?" Nashi said.
"It's not about the tree, but I bet we can find a palm tree or a plastic one we can use." Lucy said, but that didn't really make Nashi feel any better.
"Lucy, which one would you prefer?" Natsu said as he came in with two tropical shirts as he tried to decide which one to take.
"The one that isn't ugly." Lucy said.
"Which one is the ugly one?" Natsu asked.
"Both." Lucy said. Her little joke aside, Natsu got to work on packing for himself.
"Hey, Lucy. Do me a favor and get my red tie. I think I left it in the bathroom." Natsu said.
"I can't. Mr. Dreyar is in there taking a shower. He said that if I go in while he's in there, he'll ruin other men for me. Whatever that means." Nashi said. Lucy and Natsu are going to have to give a little talk to Laxus later.
"Just grab it before you see anything." Natsu said.
"Why is everyone staying here anyway?" Nashi asked. "Why can't we meet everyone at the airport or something?"
"It's easier this way. We'll be saving money and be having other benefits to it." Lucy said. "Just got and get your father's tie." Nashi just went along with what her parents said. She made her way to the bathroom to get her father's tie. She went in the bathroom to find his tie and tried to hurry out before she saw anything.
"Put your lighters in the air! Let'em burn into the night! And let everybody know! that your with it and your ready to go!" Laxus was singing in the shower and Nashi tried recording it since it's not something you hear often. "So hit the lights! Hit the lights! Hit the lights! Tonight! Tonight! So hit the lights! Hit the lights! Hit the lights! Hit the lights! Hit the lights!" Nashi was finding this really amusing until Laxus spotted her through the curtains. "Get out of here, you little pervert, or I'll slap you silly!" Nashi grabbed the tie and ran out of there. "Troubling kid..."

School
One the last day of school before break, Nashi and her friends were getting themselves ready for the trip.
"I can't wait for Miami. What could be better than celebrating Christmas on a beach?" Gale said.
"Celebrating when it's cold and snowy like when it is Christmas." Nashi said.
"Try not to be so grumpy about it, Nashi." Nova said. "It's going to be a lot of fun."
"That is unless Nashi gets left behind like last year." Storm said.
"At least she'll catch some bad guys like before." Simon said. All of them were having a laugh about what happened last year. They were all there when Nashi was rewarded for catching the criminals and they almost couldn't believe it. There were those who didn't believe it.
"Don't tell me you guys are still going on about that stupid story." A fellow kid said. He was pretty known as the class bully and didn't believe it when he was told about what happened to Nashi last year. "Quit being a liar, Nashi. No way you actually beat four criminals."
"I did too." Nashi said as she was already getting annoyed by him.
"Sure you did. I take it you rode around on Santa's sleigh as well." The bully taunted. "You're just a pest, Nashi. If your parents really did forget you, I can't blame them. They probably had a better time without you. Your own parents don't want you around." Nashi couldn't take the kid anymore. After what she went through last year, a part of her felt like she could do this. She tackled the kid and started fighting him. It all went downhill for her there.

The Dragneel House
Nashi got into some trouble. Her parents came and got her and neither of them were happy with what she did. After she got home, her parents were trying to talk to her about what she did. The other kids were doing a little snooping.
"Leave it to you, Nashi, to get in trouble before break." Natsu said.
"He started it." Nashi said as she was upset.
"Maybe that boy did say some mean things, but you were the one that started the fight." Lucy said. "You need to start using your head more, Nashi."
"Us my head? I caught four criminals in a series of traps in this very house!" Nashi said.
"Nashi, it doesn't mean you can just pick fights like that!" Natsu said. "Our trip to Miami is coming. I get you're not excited about it, but you can't act out like this!" While they were trying to talk to her, Nashi looked to the side and spotted her friends, as well as their parents.
"Hey!" Erza said as she grabbed the kids and pulled them away from there with help from the other parents. "What's with you kids. You can't eavesdrop like that." Nashi was getting annoyed and irritated with all of this.
"Forget all of this!" Nashi said as she dropped out of her seat. "I already know the drill! I'm going upstairs on the third floor." She stormed her way up there as she past her friends and their parents.
"Hey! Just make sure you don't ruin the trip!" Laxus said.
"Shut it, giant jerk!" Nashi said and actually kicked him in the leg.
"Nashi!" Lucy shouted, but Nashi just kept going on up. Nashi took her punishment as she made her way up to the third floor like last year. She just sat there and was pouting about the whole thing. Lucy made her way up up the stairs to check on her. "This is starting to look familiar. Was kicking Mr. Dreyar like that really necessary?"
"Well, he is a jerk. I can't believe Nova has him as a dad." Nashi said.
"Luckily, Nova seems to take after her mother." Lucy said as she walked over and sat on the bed with Nashi. "Nashi, I don't want a repeat of what happened last year. Just talk to me. What's wrong? What's bothering you? Is this all about not wanting to go to Miami? You can't stay alone."
"I did before." Nashi said.
"Don't remind me." Lucy said. "Nashi, why do you act that way towards others?"
"They're jerks. They're asking for it." Nashi said.
"Maybe, but that doesn't mean you should do those things." Lucy said. "You don't want Santa to leave your presents behind, do you?"
"No..." Nashi said.
"Good. Just try and imagine how others might feel before you do something." Lucy said to get Nashi to understand. "One other thing. No matter what happens, no matter what jerks you might face, you still have me. I'm not celebrating Christmas or anything without you." Nashi smiled at that as she hugged her mother. "That's my girl." Things do appear to be slightly better than they were last year, but something stay the same like tradition. Just like before, the wind blew hard during the night that the power was eventually taken out. This was the start before and it's the start now.
