Chapter Six:

"How have you been lately?" Rareland aka the evil man asked the young boy who was still looking out the window huddled against it. Joe shrugged, shaking a little, his heart pounding. He kept a hand on the door handle, hoping he could somehow make a break for it.

"Hello?" Rareland snapped his fingers beside Joe's ear making him jump, his face turning abruptly towards the sound. "Are you drifting away, hm?" Joe shook his head, not looking to the man's eyes.

"Sorry," Joe whispered before adding 'sir' to the end of it. He winced as the man reached out and grabbed his arm forcefully and dragged him away from the car door.

"I'm not sorry that I found you."

"I am," Joe whispered again, wanting to get away from the man as far as he could.

"No. You're staying right here. Next to me."

"P-please, sir, I don't want to sit-"

"Because?" Rareland raised his eyebrow, expecting no answer from the frightened little boy who bit his lip as if his arm was still in pain. "Would you like me to let go of you?" Joe nodded, his legs shaking from fear. He didn't like this at all.

"I don't care what you want," Rareland spat, laughing evilly. "You'll never say anything about what happened because your brother ..." He stopped speaking to look at Joe's reaction, which was obvious. He was surprised and a little concerned that he mentioned his brother. "You're brother is in my custody at a warehouse."

"No," Joe said, his eyes watering a little. "No!"

"Sad but true, young man!" Joe glared at his captor and started to push the man away as much as he could. Rareland grabbed his wrist and squeezed it.

"I don't care if you cry or not, you pathetic child, I just want your mouth shut." The man laughed before adding, "Except I don't mind hearing you scream for your brother to not be hurt."

"No!" Joe shouted. "NO!" He tried to yank away from the man's grip which kept tightening like a horrible death grip. He was suddenly slapped, making his cries go silent.

"Silent!" The man boomed in the car. "We're almost there." He slowly let go of Joe's bruising wrist and sighed, looking at his cell phone.

Joe whimpered, scooting away from his captor, and suddenly was thrown back against the seat when the car slammed on its brakes.

"All right, we're here." Rareland shoved him closer to the door and unlocked the door. He opened it and pushed Joe out. The boy fell down on the concrete, trying to balance himself.

"Get going. Now. Your brother will want to see you."
