Okay, I know I have a seperate story thing going with poems, but since it's not getting many hits and I really like this one I decided to post it separately. If you like this you might want to try And All of the Above, and while there drop me a review. Because I like reviews. I know you do, too!
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Raven always told us she was a demon
She told us she would bring about the destruction of the earth
She told us we would perish at her hands
She told us she had no more good in her than the amount of hours she meditated each day
She told us we should never have let her join the team
She told us we were only prolonging the inevitable
She told us that as long as she was alive there was no hope for mankind
She told us the only way we could be truly safe was when she was dead
Raven always told us she was a demon
And we believed her
But she lied
When we found her in her room in a puddle of blood
When we grabbed her already cold hand, hoping against hope to find a pulse
When we gathered her in our arms, unable to let go
When we sat in tearstained silence as the ambulances screamed outside
When we watched her body get covered with a sheet
When we laid her in her coffin with her hair spread like a halo and her eyes closed as if in a dream
When we said our last tearful goodbyes
She looked more like an angel than we could ever have imagined
