Episode 3: Reformed
The Monks and Gem recently cleared the beach of the warship debris. Steven was sitting outside while Greg and Pearl are working on the van. The Monks were inside with Amethyst while Garnet said she was busy with something. Amethyst was browsing the fridge, getting something to munch on. Raimundo was having a late lunch, having some homemade Feijoada (Black Bean and Pork Stew). Raimundo provided some to Kimiko and Clay while Omi was meditating. "Yo, Amethyst, like to have some Feijoada? I made it myself." Raimundo said. "Nah, going to get a big meal for myself. Thanks for the offer though." Amethyst said as she pulls out a good amount of the fridge's food. "Well, looks like well be needing to go grocery shopping again soon." Clay quips. Amethyst chuckles as Steven walks in.
"Hey, Steven, what brings you inside?" Raimundo said. Omi finishes his meditating and walks over to Steven and sees something on Steven's phone. "What the heck is that?" Omi asked. "Oh, it's an online quiz called "Which Crying Breakfast Friend Are You"" Steven said. "That show? Well, I prefer Jon, John, and Johnny." Raimundo said. "Oh, yea, I can watch it with you guys. You mention it was really good." Steven said. Clay nods. It's been a few days since Steven have been ungrounded. "Well, do any of you guys want to partake in it?" Steven asked. "Fine, I'll do it." Amethyst said, placing her food on the table. Amethyst takes the question not too seriously. She still destroy a mustard bottle, causing her food to be covered in mustard. Kimiko is disgusted by this is and is more disgusted when Amethyst ate the hole thing without thinking. Just then, a particular question arrive. "Are you insecure about your relationships and how you are perceived by other people?" Steven asked. This noticeably got Amethyst attention and shook her a bit.
"Something wrong?" Steven asked. "Uhh...is there a right answer to this?" Amethyst asked. "It's a personality quiz, there isn't a right or wrong answer." Kimiko said. "Oh…I'm getting a bit bored now. Hey, Rai, want to check out my room?" Amethyst asked. "Uh, sure." Raimundo said as he finishes his Feijoada and gets up from the chair. "Wait, Amethyst there's loads more of questions that I like to ask." Steven said. "Well, can you at least do it with the others?" Amethyst said as the door opens to reveal Garnet in Amethyst's room, looking for something. "Garnet! Wha-what are you doing in my room?!" Amethyst said, charging in. Steven and Raimundo follow suit. Garnet points to the ceiling, there was a massive hole. "I saw a corrupted gem and I followed it though the tunnel it dug in the rocks." Garnet explained.
"Wait, wait, you are telling us there's a corrupted gem walking around in Amethyst room?" Raimundo said. "What did it look like and where does it came from?" Amethyst said. "Well, it's similar to Pearl's description she saw slinking though the temple." Garnet said. "Wait, you found the Slinker!?" Steven said. "Wait, the Slinker? What the heck does that mean?" Raimundo said. "I thought we agreed that there is no Slinker and we were not going to call it "the Slinker"" Amethyst protested. "Well, we did but now it is undeniable that the creature does indeed exist and that Steven's name stuck." Garnet said. Steven cheers as Amethyst groans in frustration. "Look why don't you let me and Rai would look for it?" Amethyst asked. "Because you would not likely look for it and Raimundo already have a lot on his plate." Garnet counteraruges and walks by both Amethyst and Raimundo. Raimundo shrugs and walks with Amethyst, Steven and Garnet.
Garnet, Amethyst, Raimundo, and Steven went deeper into the room. Garnet walks to a big pile of Amethyst's junk pile. It reveals a massive tunnel. "Okay, so how long has it been in here?" Raimudno asked. "No clue." Garnet responded. Amethyst would find a gas mask with a skull inside of it. She still plays around with the gas mask. Just then, they hear a hissing noise. "What the heck was that?" Raimundo said. Garnet shushes Raimundo. "Shush, quiet everyone." Garnet said. Steven and Raimundo nods but Amethyst rolls her eyes and walks as Garnet sets down the junk pile. "Man, you guys have a lot of room for Amethyst." Raimundo said. "Yea, it's more expansive than that Crying breakfast that Steven watches." Amethyst quips. "Oh, yea, there's still that quiz we still need to take." Steven said as he pulls out his phone. "Do you ever get defensive when people ask you questions about your feelings?" Steven asked. Amethyst looked at Steven with an annoyance. "Don't!….get all physiological with me, Steven." Amethyst said with a squint in her eyes. Raimundo notices this but before he could speak, another hissing is heard.
"Over there!" Garnet shouts as she tosses a pile to the side. She jumps and launches her gauntlets like rockets towards the direction of the hissing. Raimundo pulls out the Sword of the Storm. "You are still carrying that?" Steven asked. "Don't know when it comes in handy." Raimundo said. The Gauntlets explodes on contact with a massive pile of junk. She and Raimundo runs up to the pile but The Slinker managed to get away. Amethyst joins up with them. "You got it?" Amethyst said. Garnet just resummons her gauntlets as she remain quiet. "No, I did not." Garnet said. Amethyst groans as she goes to the pile. "I don't think that is wise, girl." Raimundo said. "Look, Garnet, Rai, this is my stuff you are messing with and if it's going to get wrecked, let me get it wre-" Amethyst said before her leg got caught by a tentacle. She then get sucked into the pile and proceeds to get poofed. Garnet and Raimundo rushes up to the gemstone. "Aw come on..." Raimundo said. "That Slinker." Garnet mumbles. Steven picks it up and grows concerned as he remembered what happened to Pearl. "Don't worry, Steven and Raimundo. Our bodies are illusions and Amethyst will be fine." She said. Steven slowly eases off but still wonder something. "But it took Pearl two week to reform and I don't know how long Amethyst would take." Steven said. "Well, knowing my luck, she would reformed in a few moments." Raimundo said.
Just then, Amethyst's gemstone began to shine. It floats up and Amethyst reforms…but had feet in place of hands. "Well, looks like you grew a few more…feets when I last saw you" Steven quips. "You really need to hit the ground running if you want to catch up on the quip game, Steven." Raimundo said with a subtle pun. Garnet walks over. "That was fast...even for you." Garnet said with a stern pose. "Well, I didn't want to leave my two biggest fan waiting." Amethyst said while standing her hand-legs. "Come on, we got a monster to get." "That's the spirit" Raimundo said as Amethyst cartwheels away. Steven tries but fail and Raimundo and Garnet just walks. Raimundo began to look around with Amethyst as he wonders something. "What are you going to do when we get the Slinker." Raimundo said. "Not a clue, Raimundo." Amethyst said. She looks and finds a big hole. "Hey, look, Over there!" Amethyst shouts. Garnet, Steven and Raimundo arrives in a huff.
They leap down to the hole and landed it. Steven had an awkward landing but was okay. "Man, I do wonder why this form, Amethyst" Raimundo asked. "Don't you miss having hands to grip something…like food." "Well, a bit but I think I can handle food with my arm-legs." Amethyst said. "Well, I kinda want four legs now." Steven said. "I recommend you don't. Amethyst rushed her regeneration and would have taken time." Garnet said. "Like Pearl?" Steven said. Amethyst growls in frustration. "Pearl this, Pearl that, I can hear you guys you know." Amethyst said with a frustrated look on her face. "Look, I'm new to this whole…regen thing that you guys are doing, but it doesn't mean you should get snappy with all 3 of us. You should be thankful." Raimundo said. Before Amethyst could respond, the Slinker attacks from the ground, grabs Amethyst and digs back down. Amethyst poofs yet again. They quickly rushes to the gemstone. "Really, again?" Raimundo said. "Man, Amethyst is having a bad day." "Well, this should be a good time for her to reform, take time and get a stronger reform." Garnet said. Raimundo nods. "Yea, that does sound good." He said.
Just then, Amethyst's gemstone began to glow and began to float. Amethyst reforms again, but this time to look like she trying to look like pearl. Raimundo groans. "Really, you're going there?" Raimundo said. "Well, it does feel a little better." Amethyst quips back. However Garnet and Raimundo weren't big fans of this. Raimundo may not be on the same page as Pearl but he can understand Pearl on some occasion, and while he and Amethyst does have some differences, they are typically a good duo. Raimundo…just did not like this form at all. "It's just scream parody to me." Raimundo said. Amethyst rolls her eyes. Garnet just face palms and all 4 get out of the hole. The Slinker disappear in the background as Garnet, Steven, Raimundo and Amethyst walk to the next section. Raimundo has the Sword of the storm on stand by, same with Garnet's gauntlets. "Hey, Garnet, any thoughts on my new look?" Amethyst said. Garnet remained quiet. "Well, I do look more like Pearl now! Isn't it awesome." Amethyst added as she does a spin, mimicking Pearl's twirl. Raimundo also remained quiet. "We need to be focusing on the creature, Amethyst" Garnet said. "Well, I can't really focus with all these rocks having different sizes." Amethyst quips. "We have to organize them by shape, sizes, and color." Raimundo just rolls his eyes. "Look, Amethyst it's funny at first but it could do a number on your body." Raimundo said.
"But I need some encouragement, it's how I need to get everyone approval and show off how…smart I am." She said getting a bit annoyed. Raimundo just sighs. "Look, Amethyst, I care for you, but this isn't you. What's been going on with you today? You can talk to me when you feel like it." Raimundo said. Amethyst just laughs a bit. "Oh, you still got Brazil on the mind." Amethyst said. Raimundo just moans in frustration. "Enough!" Garnet intense whispering. "It's not funny, instead it looks ridiculous." "RIDICULOUS?!" Amethyst shouts. Raimundo jesters to quiet down. "Pearl would have taken her form more seriously" Garnet said. "Why should you care, it's my form and it's MY BUSINESS!" Amethyst shouts. "It's our business for the strength of the team." Garnet said. "What, I'm not strong enough, like Clay?!" Amethyst said. Just then the Slinker attacks and grabs Amethyst yet again. She gets poofed again. "Okay, this is getting ridiculous." Raimundo said. "I'm stepping u-" He then sees the monster spits the gemstone to the ground and slinks away.
"Gah! Next time, I'm going to personally poof that thing!" Raimundo said. Steven picks up Amethyst's Gemstone. "Is it sad that I'm getting numb from doing this?" Steven said. Raimundo places his head on Steven. "Look, maybe Ame would finally get the memo and take her time on thi-" He said before the gemstone glows and Amethyst reformed, albeit misshaped. One of her arms and legs were larger than her other arm and legs. Her hair was messy…well more messy than before. "Okay…that's not going to last." Raimundo said. Garnet growls in frustration. "Amethyst, that form isn't sustainable." Garnet said. "But, you said I should be stronger! Now I am!" Amethyst shouts back. Raimundo just remained quiet. "I'm not going to get involved in this argument." Raimundo said. Just then, a hissing noise is heard. "Alright, if it's my monster, I'll deal with it." Amethyst said, leaping into action. Raimundo, Garnet, and Steven runs right behind Amethyst.
They soon caught up to the monster and it quickly ensnares Amethyst in the tentacle while fighting one on one. "*gasp* Amethyst!" Steven said. Just then, part of Amethyst's arm deforms as she began to lose to the Slinker. "Let it go!" Garnet said. "No! You wanted me to be stronger and I'm doing that! I'm being what you want!" Amethyst said. "Otherwise, what do you want from me! Just tell me and I can do that!" Amethyst form keeps deforming more and more. "We can't, you have to figure out yourself." Garnet said. Then…it hit Steven. "She…she can't! She's doesn't want to think for herself." Steven said. This surprises both Raimundo and Amethyst as the Slinker managed to best Amethyst again and spits her gemstone high in the sky but Steven catches it. "Good catch." Garnet said. For Raimundo…well, he's red in the face, not from embarrassment but in anger.
"Okay, That tears it." Raimundo said as he charges against the Slinker. Raimundo goes one on one with it but the Slinker initially started to get an upper hand. Raimundo closes his eyes, lets go the sword and began to takes a deep breath. "TYPHOON BOOM! WIND!" Raimundo said, slamming his hands together, creating a massive repercussion in the air. This stuns the Slinker for a bit, allow Raimundo to reacquire the Sword of the Storm. Raimundo just smirks a bit. "SWORD OF THE STORM, WIND!" Raimundo said as he causes a tornado inside Amethyst room. The Slinker began to spin around, not getting any kind of grip and being left exposed. Raimundo leaps and slashes on the Slinker. The Tornado subsides, the Slinker crashes to the ground and poofs. Garnet walks up, bubbles the Slinker's gemstone and send it to the bubble room. Steven and Garnet walked up to Raimundo who was panting. "I take it was for Amethyst?" Garnet said. Raimundo was taken aback a bit but nods. Steven looks back down to Amethyst's gemstone.
A bit later, Steven was lying down on the couch with Amethyst's Gemstone. Garnet, Pearl and the Monks were talking a bit. "I knew that thing existed! I'm glad that Raimundo managed to put it down." Pearl said. "Uhh…yea, that was due to Amethyst's poofing…what, her 4th one today if I recall." Raimundo said. "4th one? That many?" Clay said with a surprised. "How long have she been poofed?" Kimiko asked Steven. "Well, it's now 4 hours since that happened." Steven said. "Wait…4 hours?! She's hadn't taken this long usually!" Pearl said. "What do you think is going on with her?" "No clue, but I feel like I was too hard on her." Garnet said. "Well, we must wait to see what happens." Omi said. Steven sighs. "No worries, Steven. Amethyst will return sooner or later." Raimundo said. Just as he said that the gemstone glows. "See?" Raimundo said with a bright smile. "Alright, everyone, be supportive." Steven said.
After several form cycles, Amethyst returns with a new outfit, a black tank top, mauve legging with black stars and white boots. Amethyst was stretching out her body. She looks to see the Monks and Gems. "What?" Amethyst said. "Aww… you barely changed." Steven said. "Steven!" Pearl scoldly shouts. Raimundo slowly walks up to Amethyst. "You look...amazing." Raimundo said with a bright smile. "Eh…it's what I feel right." Amethyst said. "That's why it's perfect." Garnet said as she stand next to Raimundo. Pearl comes up as well "I'm also impressed by it because you removed the shoulder strap that was bugging me." Pearl said. "Alright, got it, but we still need to get that slinker." Amethyst said. "No need to. I beat it for you." Raimundo said. Amethyst was surprised but smiles. "I take it you did it for me?" Amethyst said. Raimundo blushes a bit and chuckles. Amethyst hugs Raimundo and Raimundo hugs back. Amethyst and Raimundo's chemistry is growing each day and even with a bit of a hiccup today, they got it back on track. Steven and the Monks just smile from seeing Amethyst and Raimundo hug it out.
