Episode 7: Keeping it Together
At Chase's place, Chase, Jack, Wuya, Jackson and Peridot were discussing something. There hasn't been a Wu activating for a while and are uncertain when and where the next one would be. However, Peridot suggested something. "I think we should check the Kindergarten to make sure some of the...subjects are emerging." Peridot said with a vague tone. "Are you sure that is wise, Peridot?" Chase said. "You did mention a while back that the Gems and Monk managed to destroy something that allowed you to communicate with Jack." "That is true, but I doubt they would know where we would be. Besides, I got some...subject to tend to." Peridot said. "Well, what are we waiting for, let's see the subjects." Jack said with a vigorous tone. "Hold up, Jack. I'm coming to." Chase said. "Wait, wha?" Peridot said. "Look, I want to be cautious about Peridot's well being. Yes, you don't have much potential, but that doesn't mean you aren't an ally to me." Chase explained. Jack softly smiles.
"Then it's settled. We head to the Prime Kindergarten this instant. And I got the jet to do it." Jack said. He gets up and shows that he brought his jet to Chase Young's place via Jackbots. Chase whistles. "That's a fairly good jet you made." Chase compliments. "Thanks, Chase." Jack said with a smile. "It can seat up to 5 people, but I recommend that Wuya and Jackson hang back just in case." "I think that is a bit wise of you, Jack." Wuya said. "Just be careful and not lose Peridot." "We will, Wuya…we will. If they want to get Peridot, they have to go through me." Jack said with a fiery tone. "Well, simmer down, we don't know what they are doing, but they might be planning their next move and we should too." Chase said as he climbs into the jet. Jack and Peridot also gets into the jet. The jet began to take off. Wuya and Jackson walks back inside, at guard of their remaining shen gong wus.
Back at Beach City, The Gems and the Monks were doing Steven's laundry. More specifically, folding up Steven's shirts. "Man, you have a lot of similar shirts, Steven." Raimundo quips. "Yea, sure do." Steven said. However, Garnet finally speaks up. "Look, everyone, we founded their pod and they could be anywhere, somewhere, trying to hurt the earth. We need to track them down, more specifically Peridot. She came to Earth with a mission and odds are, she is still going to do it." Garnet said with a stern tone. "I thought it was so you guys can help with my laundry." Steven said. "Well, that too, however the chore wheel you suggested…that feel apart." Garnet said. "Wasn't me." Amethyst said with a nonchalant tone. We pan over to see the chore wheel, which was wrote with the Monks in mind as well had everyone's name crossed out and replaced with…Pearl's name. The Monks, Garnet and Pearl exchange looks. "Well, I just really enjoy doing all of the chores." Pearl said. "Figures." Raimundo said.
Pearl began to ponder something. "Garnet, do you think that Peridot is going to look for us? I mean she know where we are and knows about the Shen Gong Wus." Pearl said. "Don't you think that she would try and attack us with Jack and Wuya?" "I can understand your concern about Peridot, Pearl, but I doubt that we were high on her priority list. She must be doing something with the Kindergarten." Garnet said. "What's going on in the Kindergarten?" Omi asked. "Well, if you guys must know, there are the injectors, you guys saw them…well saw them disabled." Pearl said as she shows a hologram from her gem. "If Peridot manages to reactivate them, they would pick up where they left off, planting Gems in the crust of the earth. There, they would incubate and suck the life out of the planet, right out of the ground. We don't want Peridot to reactivate the gem productions on here. If we do the earth would be...be…." Pearl said as she trails off. "It'll be janked." Garnet said. Pearl and Amethyst look at Garnet. "Garnet, that mouth" Amethyst said with some chuckles. "So, what you are suggesting is that we check if the Kindergarten is what Peridot is looking for?" Omi said. "I think that sounds about right." Garnet said as she stands up. "Alright, so let's check the Kindergarten." Raimundo said. They began to walk to the Warp Pad with Steven in tow.
At the Kindergarten, Jack's jet land perfectly in a big crater. The Hull opens and Jack, Peridot and Chase gets out of the jet. "Alright, so what's the plan?" Jack said. "You and I would check the subject to see if they are developing and Chase would be on look out in case the Monks and Gems somehow arrive. It's very unlikely they will come but it's good to have insurance." Peridot said. Jack nods. "Good plan, Peridot. Chase, go hide somewhere where you can see everything from about." Jack said. Chase looks up and leaps to the top to the cliff. "Is this high enough for you?" Chase shouts. "Perfect." Jack said with the okay sign. "Let's go, Peridot." Jack said as he and Peridot began to walk. As they walk, Jack looks around the Kindergarten. "So…this is the Kindergarten? Where Amethyst was created." Jack said. "Yes, she is Facet-5 Cut 8XM to be more specific." Peridot said. "And if I recall, you are Facet-2F5L Cut-5XG, am I correct?" Jack said. "Good memory, Jack." Peridot said. They soon arrive at the hole and the elevator was there. "Perfect, they left the elevator up." Peridot said as she and Jack steps on it. They began to go down.
Chase began to wonder from the top and looks around. He began ponder a bit. 'With Jack's untapped potential, this could be a game changer in the long run.' Chase thought. 'If he could just access it, the Monks and Gems would be on their knees. Peridot doesn't have as same potential but she does have something in her tank that could surprise everyone, even her.' Chase kept walking around looking to make sure the coast was clear. A bit later, he walks over to see the Warp Pad. He began to remember the time he was training with Pearl and began to remember his falling out with the Xiaolin Monk of the past. He slowly clutch his fist when he heard the warp pad activating. "No…" Chase soft shouts. The Warp Pad activates and the Monks and Gems arrived. Chase quickly scurries off to not be seen.
Down at the warp pad the Monks and Gems began to walk off the warp pad and look around. Pearl projects a beam of light to shine the path. "Doesn't look like Peridot activated any of these. In fact, I doubt these thing budged since the last time we were here." Pearl said. "Yea, that's when Dojo told Peridot and Jack about us knowing about the Spybots and Peridot's identity." Raimundo said. "Yea, since then, Jack really went on the attack." Omi said. "That's true but that doesn't mean that Peridot would not come here." Garnet said. "We need to check the perimeter and see any future point of entry." "Sounds good to me." Steven said. All of them began to search around by themselves, even Steven.
As Steven starts to look around, Peridot and Jack began to get back on the elevator. "Man, those…things really came out early." Jack said. "Yes, well, I'll make a note of that." Peridot said as they rode upward. "Alright then." Jack said as he kept his sword on standby. Jack looks over to see Peridot's note "Log Date 6-5-2..." Peridot began as the elevator hit the top and Steven was standing there but they have yet to notice him. "This is Peridot and Jack Spicer, still stuck on earth. The fusion experiments are developing properly and even some emerged early." Peridot said. Jack looks up and sees Steven. He pats Peridot who then see Steven and shrieks in shock. A silence is felt. "Are the other Gems and Monks around?" Jack said quietly. Peridot sweats a bit. Steven softly nods and shrugs. "Great...why not…" Peridot bemoans. Just then… "Peridot!" Garnet shouts from a distance. "We got them now!" Clay said as the Monks and Gems arrived. Peridot began to run with Jack. "You guys aren't getting away that easy!" Raimundo shouts. Just then, Peridot began running up the wall and Jack began to use his backpack copter to help out.
"Woah, I don't think we can do that." Steven said. "Well, neither will she" Pearl said as she chucks her spear upwards but passes between Jack and Peridot. "Hah! Missed!" Peridot quips. However, Jack sees the spear hits the injector and it began to fall towards Peridot. He quickly grabs her before it could hit her and began to fly away with her in tow. "We need to stop them!" Kimiko said rushing to get Peridot and Jack. Clay, Pearl, Raimundo, Amethyst and Omi pursue as well. As for Steven and Garnet, they would hangs back and check what Peridot and Jack were doing they took the elevator downward to see what was going on. Peridot began to use her fingers as helicopter blades and began to fly as well next to Jack. "Sweet, didn't know you could do that." Jack said. "Now isn't the time for discovery, Jack. We need is a distraction." Peridot said. Jack thinks a bit and has an idea. "Get a head start to the jet, I'll try to hold off the Monks as much as I can" Jack said, going down to the ground. Peridot kept propelling away as Jack lands.
"Ready for a beatdown, you yellow bellied snake?" Clay said. "Heh, it would be you guys that would lose, now that I can use a sword with ease." Jack boasters as he pulls out his sword. Pearl was perplexed by it. "How were you able to learn to use a sword?" Pearl asked. "What did you learn it from an online tutorial?" Kimiko quips. "No…he learned it from me." a voice echos out. A figure lands in front of Jack, Amethyst, Pearl, and the Monks. It was revealed to be, who else but Chase Young. The monks were perplexed by this person while Pearl and Amethyst were stunned to see him like this. "C-C-Chase?" Pearl said. "Yes, Pearl, once I was you apprentice, now I am the master." Chase said. Pearl couldn't believe it. "Wait, you taught Jack how to be a knight?" Pearl said. "More than a knight, I am beginning to access his talents as a versatile threat." Chase said. "He isn't weak in my eyes, he has untapped potential." The monks began to get on guard for attack, however, Pearl pulls out a sword rather than her spear. "If Jack is more powerful than me, let me see it." Pearl said. Chase just chuckles. "Oh, Pearl, still caring for Rose after all this time." Chase said. Pearl blushes from that but recomposed herself.
Pearl and Jack began to attack each other. The Monk could do is watch and see how Pearl can best Jack this time. Pearl starts out aggressive as she puts Jack on the back foot initially. "Hah, aggressive already. Same trap as Connie." Jack said. This would throw Pearl off a bit as Jack quickly counters any offensive attack Pearl throws at him. Soon, Pearl began to slowly walk backwards but began changing up her attack, playing conservative and waiting for a right moment to attack. However, that attack never comes. Chase secretly communicates with Peridot and finds out that she just made it back to the ship. After Pearl made one last ditch attack that failed and shatter her sword, Chase went up to Jack. "Peridot is back at the jet, we leave…now." Chase whispers. Jack softly nods. "I have proven my worthiness against Pearl, I have shattered her sword and that is enough for one day." Jack announces as Chase and Jack quickly walks away.
Pearl looks at her now broken sword and shed some tears. "I'm sorry, I failed all of you." Pearl said with a sniff. "We don't know who Chase Young is." Omi said. "He was…a very good friend of mine…but it looks like he fallen to the Heylin." Pearl said. "Man, this is getting bad…and we just lost track of Peridot." Amethyst said. "Well, we better go find Steven and Garnet to tell them what happened." Omi said. They began to head back as the Jet began to lift off. A bit later, they founded Garnet and Steven. However, Garnet looks worse for wear. "Garnet, we're back." Clay said. "We lost Peridot and Jack, they seem to be working with this Chase Young guy." Kimiko said. Just then a limb cluster lands on top of Omi's head. Raimundo picks it up. "Ewww...what is this?" Raimundo said. "Put them down!" Garnet shouts. Raimundo does so and places them on the ground. "We need to poof and bubble all of them…can't let them escape." Garnet said as she poofs them. The Monks and Gems are now feeling the pressure now that they know about Chase's involvement and it going to be a while before they can get revenge. As for Chase, he made his presence known and is fairly confident on Jack's ability. As for Jack…well, his confidence is at an all time high, like there is nothing that would shoot down his confidence. At least, not yet.
