Episode 16: Nightmare Hospital

Jack and Peridot were busy writing up notes for the upcoming debate. Jack was given time to prepare reason and arguments on why Peridot should be helped out. Peridot wanted to help out with Jack because she knew Jack was her main ticket to return to homeworld as soon as she could. Jack was thinking on what could be a good reason. "Mmm...how should we convince Chase without mentioning the Cluster." Jack said. "I mean, you did mention it to me and while it's very disappointing to know it's purpose, if the Gems and Monks are knocked out as well, we might go down swinging." "Well, maybe you can live on Homeworld, if you like. I might try to convince my diamond that you might have some good usage out of it." Peridot suggested. "Good offer, but I think we should take it one step at a time." Jack said. "Besides, how are we going to repair the homeworld warp pad without the gems knowing?" Peridot just sighs. "Well, if you may recall, Steven does have the healing powers so we could use him to repair the warp pad." Peridot said. "Oh, yea, he does have the healing spit." Jack said.

"Exactly, however, I doubt Steven would be so...willing to help out." Peridot said. "So we got to snatch him up, eh?" Jack said with an evil grin. "You can say that, I call it as...borrowing him for a bit." Peridot said. "Ah, that classic PC shenanigans. Hopefully that would work out. His healing spit has to return by now." Jack said. Peridot nods. This lead to Peridot thinking. "What if they decided on not helping me out?" Peridot asked Jack. Jack softly sighs. "We'll execute it ourselves and only ourselves." Jack said. "If they decided to chicken out, then their loss, our gain." "Okay then." Peridot said. "Look, Peridot…I know you are really anxious on getting back to Homeworld but we have little, if any, room for errors. I want you to get back home and be able to report back to your Diamond. As for me, I will defend as much as I can and hopefully, one day, we might cross paths again." Jack said. Peridot nods again. She had gain so much respect for Jack's dedication for her safety. Jack was also secretly having resentment from the Gems for causing Peridot's foot to be lost. Then again, it's a foot. It's not like it's going to be important of valuable for quite some time. Jack goes back to writing notes and arguments for his case for Peridot's survival.

Back to Beach City, more specifically the Maheswaran house. A pink portal shows up as Lion comes through with Steven, Connie, and Raimundo. They were having a ball with laughter involved. Connie then dismounts Lion. "Alright, well, time for me to reassume my secret ID." Connie said putting her lenless glass on. "Same time next week? I'll make sure to keep up my Sword of the Storm training." Raimundo said. "Good to hear that. Though, it's a shame I can't practice at home like you can, Raimundo." Connie said as she pets Lion. Just then, Steven had an idea. He also dismounts Lion, goes into Lion's mane and pulls out Rose's sword. "Here-eth, you can borrow my mother's sword-eth." Steven said. "Steven, that's so nice of you. While it's grammatically incorrect, I would like to play along." Connie said with a chuckles. "Thou can't just give-eth me thine mother's sword." she added with a medieval accent. "Why not-eth?" Steven said. "Because it's really valuable-eth." Connie said. "Okay, we get it-eth. You should have the sword to practice with-eth. Can we get this show on the road-eth?" Raimundo said with a bad medieval accent.

Steven and Connie laughs a bit as they head inside. "Sorry about that, Raimundo." Steven said with a chuckle. Connie receives Rose's Sword from Steven. "Thanks, guys." Connie said. "Well, we'll need you in case we have to fight Malachite, Peridot, Jack…" Raimundo said. "Or those creepy gem fusion experiments." Steven said with a shutter. "Right. I'll make sure not to lose it." Connie said. Just then, the garage door opens. Connie realized one thing. "The Garage door! Mom's home!" She said. "We need to hide it, there's no way she'll allow it in the house." Steven and Raimundo looks out to see Lion was gone. "Shoot, Lion's gone AWOL." Raimundo said. "We need to hide it, but where?" Connie said. Connie then has an idea.

A minute or two later, Dr. Priyanka Maheswaran walks in. She sees Steven, who is sitting with a nervous look, Raimundo, who is sitting with a chilled look, and Connie, who was playing the violin. Connie looks to her mom. "Oh, hi, Mom. I was finishing up on my 6 o'clock violin practice." Connie said. "well, you should have finished that 5 minutes ago. You are late with the 7 o'clock study hour." Dr. Maheswaran said. She turns to Raimundo and Steven. "Hello, Steven, Raimundo." Dr. Maheswaran said. "Yo, Mrs. Maheswaran." Raimundo said, playing it cool. "How has life treated you?" "Not good, I had a rough day at work and in no mood for surprises." Dr. Maheswaran said. All 3 were surprised to hear that. "What happened at work?" Connie asked. "Well, if you need to know, I had a strange case at the hospital today" Dr. Maheswaran said as she takes the coat off and puts it on the "coat rack" "It's like it came out of a nightmare. Thankfully, the rules of doctor-patient confidentiality keeps me from...wait a minute. Since when did we get a coat rack." she said as she takes the coat off the "coat rack". Connie groans. "Shoot...gigs up." Raimundo whispers to Connie.

"A SWORD!? Where did you guys get this?!" Dr. Maheswaran said outloud. "Uhh..we just-" Raimundo tried to say before Connie interrupted. "I found it! I just...found it outside and I was wanting to show it to Steven and Raimundo." Connie said with a lying undertone. This lead to Priyanka chewing out Connie a whole lot, ranting about how not a single child she sees everyday cuts their face off with a sword and forbids Connie from playing with swords under any circumstances. Just before she continues on...a cell phone rings. Dr. Maheswaran's cell was going off and she answers it. She was busy on the phone for a bit. "Alright, I'll be there." Dr. Maheswaran said. She hangs up and turns to the three. "I've got to go back to the hospital." she said as she kept the sword in her bag "I'll have a discussion with your father to calculate how grounded to are. Oh, and we will be using the abacus." she added as she walks away.

Connie looks down and mumbles to herself. "I hate that abacus." She said. She turns to Raimundo and Steven. "I apologize that she took your mom's sword, Steven." Connie said. "Yea, that's kinda sucky." Raimundo said. "Well, maybe we can change her mind?" Steven suggested. "I doubt it. She almost never changes her mind. We must get it back ourselves." Connie said. Raimundo chuckles. "Well, she at least didn't confiscate this." Raimundo said, pulling out the Sword of the Storm. "How were you…?" Connie said. "Well, I have some deep pockets, make sure to play it cool and not leave it out in the open." Raimundo said. Connie nods. "Well, I guess we won't be undefended if Peridot or Jack pulls a fast one." Connie said. Steven and Raimundo nods as they head out. But first, they need to find Lion quickly.

A bit later, they found Lion and teleported to the hospital. Steven fell off of Lion after they emerged from the portal. Connie looks over to Steven. "I suggest we keep Lion outside. I would feel real bad if Lion got confiscated, too." Connie said. "Yea, what was your first clue?" Raimundo said. "Ah, don't worry, it's not a problem. He can have these while he stays outside." Steven said, pulling out some Lion Lickers from his pockets. Lion began to immediately chomp on them and shakes them around. Steven and Connie chuckles bit from that. "Alright, let's get inside and find the sword" Connie said. They enter the hospital. It looks fairly dimly lit as they made sure no one was around. "Man, this hospital really are saving the money with the lights." Raimundo quips. "Well, they turn down the lights after dinner." Connie responds. Raimundo and Steven nods. Just then, an eerie sound is heard at the end of the hallway. "What was that?" Steven asked. "No clue, but may be it would wise to investigate soon." Raimundo said.

Connie looks back to see her mom starting to walk down the hallway. They were far enough to not be seen from her as they hid under a trolley. Dr. Maheswaran walked by said trolley with a look. Her phone rings again, answers it and responds to it. Connie, Raimundo, and Steven sneak by as they follow her to the patient's room but stayed outside the room, so they wouldn't be seen by her. Dr. Maheswaran lift the sheets and uses her stethoscope. Connie looks around the room from the outside. "What is she doing?" Steven asked Connie "She's probably checking their vitals and heart beats." Connie said. "Have you ever been to a hospital, Steven?" Raimundo said. Steven shakes his head. "Oh…" Raimundo said. Just then, Connie sees the sword. "Oh, Steven, look." Connie said, pointing at the sword with a whisper. The patient was doing some rough breathing and Dr. Maheswaran wasn't getting any signs. She discard the stethoscope and walks out the room. With Dr. Maheswaran out of the room, Connie, Raimundo, and Steven softly walks into the room. They slowly walk to the bag and grab it, slowly walking back out. However, as they near the door, the patient began making jerking and making noises. This startled Connie, Steven and Raimundo. However after a bit, the patient simmers down. They sighs in relief and arrive to the door. "Too easy." Raimundo confident said with a quiet tone.

Just then, the door opens, It's Dr. Maheswaran. She's return with a new stethoscope. "Connie?!" She said. "Of course that would happen…" Raimundo bemoans. "How did you three even-?" Dr. Maheswaran said as she snatches the bag and sword back "What are you doing with this? I thought I was crystal clear with the rule, no swords under ANY circumstances." she added. "But mom-" Connie was going to say. "No buts, Connie, we will finish this discussion at home." Dr. Maheswaran said. Just then, another noise was made. It came from outside. Raimundo, Connie, Steven and Dr. Maheswaran look out and see a dark figure limping their way. "Sir? Ma'am? Dr. West?" Dr. Maheswaran said with a sigh. "he just can't take a day off, could he?" she then pulls out a flashlight, revealing a patient. "You? Huh...That's my other patient. What are you doing out of bed?" Dr. Maheswaran said. Steven took a closer look and realized something. The patient… was actually a cluster gem mutant. "That's not a patient." Steven said.

Just then, the hallway mutant began charging against the four of them. They quickly get back inside and close the door. The hallway mutant began slamming against the door. "I don't know what is it doing or what's going on here, but I'm going to get to the bottom of this." Dr. Maheswaran said. She then goes back to check up the patient, as it began jerking around some more, even more violently. "Connie, Rai? I think that was a gem mutants." Steven said pointing at the door. "Wait, really? You sure?" Raimundo said."Pretty sure at this point." Steven said. Connie rushes up to her mom. "Mom, I really, really, really need the sword!" Connie said. Dr. Maheswaran kept the sword out of reach. "Now isn't the time, Connie!" She said. "Now is a perfect time, Mom!" She said, trying to jump for the sword. "Connie, what has gotten into you? You know that I can never go back on a rule, young lady." Dr. Maheswaran said. Connie groans. "There's has to be some exceptions! I'm not some rule-driven robot!" She shouts. Just then, the patient burst through the curtains, revealing to be a cluster gem mutant as well and grabs Connie.

"Connie!" Raimundo, Steven and Dr. Maheswaran said at the same time. "Mom!" Connie said. Steven and Raimundo rushes to save Connie. Steven summons his shield and rams the bed mutant. "Keep you hands off my Connie!" Steven said as he kept pushing hard. Raimundo raises his hand "Heads up, Steven!" Raimundo shouts. Steven jumps out of the way for Raimundo. "Typhoon Boom, WIND!" Raimundo said, clapping his hand together to make a massive sonic boom and a pwoerful gust of wind. It really shook up the bed mutant as Steven managed to hold it back some more. Dr. Maheswaran was in full blown panic mode. "These patients are beyond reason." She said. "Mom, if you just let me use the sword and go back on your rule this one time…" She said before the hallway mutant smashes the window and frightened Connie and Dr. Maheswaran. "I just need to help Steven and Raimundo to get us out of here." Connie said. Just then, Dr. Maheswaran had an idea. "Mother knows best!" She said. She grabs the hospital bed and charges it out of the room, collecting the hallway mutant and sending It down the hall. Steven and Raimundo quickly run out of the room and the four of them began to run.

As they ran, they encountered the hallway mutant and the bed mutant was able to chase them down. Steven summons his bubble shield and encasing Raimundo, Dr. Maheswaran and Connie with himself. The two mutants ram the bubble with little success. "Really, Mom! I know how to use a sword!" Connie pleads. "No, you don't!" Dr. Maheswaran said. "Actually, yes… she does, she's been training. She wasn't playing around the sword. She's been taking practice and classes on how to use it right." Steven added. "Yea, and even though she's always studying, she's a pretty good sword fighter. It's almost like homework." Raimundo said. "No. No no no no. I know my daughter! I know what she's doing every second of the day. All her activities, her interest, I know she's not some sword fighting hooligan!" Dr. Maheswaran said. Connie finally had enough. "You don't know me at all! You didn't notice my glasses!" Connie said. She then removes her glasses. "They don't even have lens anymore!" She added as she places her hand through the frame. "I've haven't needed actually glasses for almost a year!" She said. "What, did your eyesight just got magically better?!' Dr. Maheswaran said. "...YES! I've been dealing with magic, monsters, so much more since I met Steven and Raimundo! That's why I needed you to believe I know what to do here." Connie said.

Dr. Maheswaran was just flabbergasted. "Ugh! There's no time for this!" Connie said as she pulls out the sword and braces herself. Raimundo pulls out the Sword of the Storm. "Ready?" Steven said. "Ready as I can be." Raimundo said. "Drop the bubble." Connie said. Steven expands the bubble, bursting it and sending the mutants back. The Bed Mutant began to charge. "SWORD OF THE STORM, WIND!" Raimundo said, creating a small vortex that traps the Bed Mutant, allowing Connie to slice the Bed Mutant with ease, poofing it. At the same time, Steven was fighting the Hallway mutant with his shield. He pushes the Hallway Mutant back and launches Connie via his shield. She does a flip and slice it in half, causing it to poof as well. Steven bubbles both the cluster gems and sends them back to the temple. He walks up to Connie as they smile with each other. Raimundo walks over to Dr. Maheswaran as Connie looks back at her mom. "There's a lot things to explain about my past." Raimundo said with a chuckle.

A bit later, Dr. Maheswaran was given everything to be told. The Gem experiments, the Xiaolin Monks, the Heylin, the Shen Gong Wu, Connie's sword training, everything. They walk outside with Dr, Maheswaran thinking a bit. "So, that's why they had no pulse." Dr. Maheswaran said. "Those were Gem experiments." She almost walked into Lion "Gaah!" "Sorry about that, that would be Steven's Lion." Raimundo said with a chuckle. Connie hands the sword to Steven and Connie talked to her Mom. They reconciled and agreed that Dr. Maheswarn would pull back on the rules as long as Connie speaks the truth. Connie agrees to it and hugs her mom. Steven looks at the sword, remembering his mother's symbol and hugs it as well. Raimundo smiles from seeing that. The secret maybe out but it took some convincing to make sure everyone is on the same music sheet. Connie was now free to train with the sword and Dr. Maheswaran now knows about the Shen Gong Wu, and things couldn't get any better. Little do they know, things are about to shake up in the Heylin side.
