Maya crashed her lips onto Jaime's dry ones, but he pulled back and stared at her.

Maya eyed him in curiosity. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he snapped.

She stepped back and asked, "Why won't you tell me?"

"Because you don't need to know."

"Why are acting like I am a stranger, Jaime?"

Jaime sighed. "How can you still look at me?"

"What are you talking about?"

Maya watched as Jaime moved past her, slamming the door behind him. He moved further into the room. "I-I don't understand."

"Understand what?" she questioned.

"HOW YOU CAN LOVE A MAN LIKE ME," he yelled at her in response which caused her to jump in fear of him. "I've done things to you and I…I wanted your brothers dead-all of them dead. I wanted your father dead, I wanted everyone you could ever love dead which they all are and yet here you are still giving yourself to me. I have no fucking hand. Do you love because no one will have you, is that it? Why?"

He came closer and growled lowly, "Why?"

She straightened her back and said coldly, "I could never understand why the Gods have made me love such a hateful, selfish, cruel man. I wondered myself if or why I could ever love you…but then I realized that I misjudged you and the reason that I love you so much was because I was yours the minute you gave yourself to me and told me that you loved me and actually meant it, Jaime. You can't stop loving someone-I can't stop loving you…just like you can't stop loving your sister and she you. Our Hope is dead…hope died with her perhaps. I'm not the woman who made a vow to you, Jaime, I changed while I was away in Braavos and you changed as well."

"I did change," he confessed. "What are you saying, Maya?"

Maya looked at him. "I think it's best if we slept in separate rooms, Jaime."

She walked over to her door and said to him, "Because I cannot love or look at a man who judges me on why and how I can love someone…and a man who depends so much on a hand."

"I was my right hand." He raised his voice at her.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at me." Maya felt her eyes water because of the love she bared for Jaime. "I love you so much and you don't know how hard it was when we lost our daughter. I thought you loved me, Jaime…but I can see that The Kingslayer pulled the wool over my eyes."

She opened the door and said to him softly, "Congratulations…you fooled a Stark."

Jaime walked forward and was on the steps when he looked at her. "Like you said before…I will always love my sister and she me."

"Get. Out." She told him and he left the room.

After a moment had passed after she closed the door did Maya start to break down crying, putting a hand over her mouth as she fell to the floor.

ONE WEEK LATER…

"Tyrion, you can't ignore me forever," Jaime called out to his little brother through the doors.

"Why don't you just answer it," Bronn whispered to Tyrion who glared off into the starry distance of the night sky beside him that seemed to stretch for miles.

"He did something unforgivable," Tyrion said cryptically.

"Why did the man do?" Bronn asked as he cleaned his nails with his knife.

Tyrion huffed. "Something unforgivable…he hurt my best friend, Maya."

"I thought I was your best friend," Bronn accused. "I actually attended your wedding."

"You are paid to be my friend-you asked me for money, but Maya does not ask such a thing from me. Besides, I never went to her wedding too and she cannot be blamed for it."

"Fine. I don't really care," Bronn brushed off. "So is that why no one has seen the little lady for over a week now?"

"Yes, Bronn, that is why," Tyrion replied.

Another knock on the door caused both of the men to become silent once again as they drank their Dornish wine. "You going to have to come out sometime and then you won't be able to ignore me, Tyrion…I know you're in there because Bronn was talking."

Tyrion gave a look to Bronn who shrugged and stood up to refill his wine. Tyrion went to the door and slammed it opened.

"Look," he said sternly. "Right now I hate you, Jaime. I hate you for what you did to the woman you claim to love. She's a good person and she would have loved you for just you and not your fucking hand. She doesn't care about that-in fact, she hates men who depend on limbs to make it through life. She missed you, loved you, and accepted you for who you are. Dear Gods, she actually accepted your incestuous relationship with our maddening sister."

"Tyrion, keep your voice down-"

"Who the fuck cares because everyone already knows about it and they don't care," Tyrion snapped angrily at his older brother. "You don't find a woman like her every dynasty, Jaime."

"You don't understand, Tyrion." Jaime tried to reason with him.

"You damn right I don't understand. I didn't think that you could be that stupid to let a woman like her go…but appears I am wrong. You broke her- you broke her heart. You didn't just break it though, no, you took your hand and put it in between our sister's legs and fucked her probably and she knows you did thus breaking her heart even more. I will ignore you as long as you keep being an idiot. Now goodnight, my dearest brother."

Tyrion slammed the door in his brother's face and locked it.

"Shit," Bronn commented. "That was a little harsh, don't you think?"

"Bronn, I swear that I will choke you with the chain of a necklace if you don't shut up."

Bronn laughed and replied; "Now that would be a sight to see, eh?"

The handmaiden picked up her skirts and ran as fast as she could down the hall the led to Ser Jaime's study chambers in The White Tower. She ran inside and flushed with embarrassment when she saw that he was with the king and Ser Meryn.

She curtsied and said quickly, "I am sorry, my lord and Your Grace for disturbing your meeting, but, uh…"

"Get on with it," Jaime ordered in a bored tone.

"It's your wife, Lady Maya," the handmaiden told him.

Jaime could feel his right curl into a fist and then he realized that his hand wasn't there anymore, but he could somehow still feel it moved. "What about her?"

"She, uh-"

"Speak up," Joffrey snapped at her with a roll of his eyes.

"Lady Maya is-was attacked and she-"

The handmaiden didn't have time to finish because Jaime was already striding out of the room and running to his wife's chambers which was on the other side of the castle. He prayed to the Gods that they didn't take her away from him again. He still remembered their last conversation and it nearly tore him apart by what he had said to her.

Jaime ran inside of the chambers and fell to his knees when he reached the bed and saw that her face had purple bruises on them from what he assumed was punches. He saw that she had a cut lip and a cut just below her hairline. Her face looked unrecognizable, but he could still see the woman he loves in there. He held her hand tightly into his and felt his chest tighten.

"My Lord-" Grand Maester Pycelle began, but was interrupted by Jaime.

"What happened?" he asked coldly.

"An assassin came through the balcony and attacked your wife from behind after he had chained up her direwolf and took her weapons away. The handmaidens had informed me that she didn't notice any thing probably because she was changing. I guess that he had beat her senselessly when she fought back, knowing her unconscious. He tried to rape her, my lord, but luckily did not succeed since Prince Oberyn Martell had heard her screams long before her unconscious state and saved her, killing the assassin. Oberyn informed me that she lost a lot of blood from her head being slammed into the floor." Grand Maester Pycelle explained to him.

Jaime knitted his brows in confusion at the mention of The Red Viper's named. "Oberyn? What was he doing over on this side of the castle?"

"I came to see your wife," Oberyn said in the doorway.

"Leave us," Jaime commanded sternly to Grand Maester Pycelle and the old man left as quickly as possible. "Why were you here?"

"Maya and I have become friends," Oberyn said as he came to stand at the head of the bed.

"Friends?" he scoffed.

"Yes," Oberyn confessed. "She is not like how I expected she would be. I was picturing someone more like a Lannister actually, but instead I found that she was actually compassionate. Your wife has more compassion than any other person here in Westeros and Dorne. It gave me hope that people can be good…you don't deserve a woman like her, Lannister."

"You sound like a fool in love," Jaime taunted. "I doubt your paramour would be happy about it."

"Ellaria likes her as well and if Maya was not married then I would have taken her and asked her to be my paramour along with Ellaria."

Jaime growled in chest and threatened the viper, "If you touch her then I will drive my sword through your chest."

"I doubt that she likes it when you kill someone she likes. She's lonely and sad…but strong and determined." Oberyn complimented Maya. "Also I like her because we have many things in common."

Jaime scoffed. "Like what?"

"Like the fact that Lannisters killed our sibling," Oberyn said with a smile on his face. Jaime noticed that his smile was cold and bitter, almost taunting in a way that said that Jaime could never know the connection that they must've shared. "Your family killed the siblings that completed us, that we cared about the most in life, the ones that we were close to-no wonder she hates your family. I'm surprised that she hasn't tried to slit her bastard son's throat in his sleep. I would have if he had beaten me."

Jaime froze. "What did you just say?"

"Oh? You didn't know?" Oberyn questioned, like having the advantage over the lion. "She told me that King Joffrey had his Kingsguard men hold her down as they beat her, but luckily your dwarf brother saved her from any more beatings."

"You think that this is funny, snake?" he seethed.

Oberyn leaned towards Jaime and snapped coldly, "I don't think any of this is comical. I'm glad that I decided to have supper with your wife tonight because if I hadn't then she would have been raped and murdered just like my sister was. You know that this is the same room that Elia was in when she was raped and murdered, do you not?"

Jaime looked around and sure enough the viper was right. Jaime only remembered bits and pieces of the room back then, but if he closed his eyes and smelled the scent of the room then he would smell the fragrance of roses. The room always smelled like roses even when Elia was in here. "I didn't know that, Oberyn."

"I think of Maya as a little sister to me now. She reminds me of my sister just as I remind her of her brother. Like I said, she's lonely and sad." Oberyn reminded him and turned to leave, but stopped in the doorway. "I do hope you know that you are lucky to have a wife who's as compassionate as she is. Some women don't like cripples, they disgust them actually, but yet when I spoke with Maya, she said that she didn't care that you had a missing limb…all that she cared about was that you were back in her arms once again."

There was a moment of silence between. Even the night itself was silent.

"But now I think she hates you," Oberyn finished then left Jaime alone with his wife. Jaime felt his eyes water and he let out a soft sob, silently begging the Gods to give him back his wife-his Maya, his Rose, his She-Wolf...

ABOUT FOUR DAYS LATER…

Tyrion came into the room. Tyrion noted the way his brother's eyes were red and his beard seemed to be growing back once again. Jaime sniffled and looked at his brother who also had a look of sadness on is face.

"Pycelle already told me what had happened…it took some time, but I got him to tell me that she may not wake awhile, Jaime."

"I don't care. I should have been here," he sobbed. "With her."

"Why weren't you?" Tyrion asked in a low angry voice to his brother.

"I couldn't." Jaime told him. "Cersei…she came to me just before I went to Maya the day I came back. She told me that she would kill Maya if I…if I kept on loving Maya."

"So you let our whore of a sister control you," Tyrion snapped at his brother.

"Cersei knew that I couldn't fight with my left hand! She knew! She said that she would send The Mountain after Maya if I did not do what she said, Tyrion and we all know that he likes to rape the women he kills. She said that I had to love her and only her. She wanted me to break my vows just like she broke hers for me. She wanted Maya dead, Tyrion. She feels threatened by her and I don't know why." Jaime confessed. "I wanted to kill Cersei, right then and there."

"So all of the things you said to Maya…they weren't true?"

"Of course not!" Jaime roared and Tyrion felt relief flood through his body. "I love Maya more than anything in this world! I hate, I hate, and I hate Cersei!"

Jaime combed his fingers through her soft curls with a soft smile on his face. "I know that she always loved me for me. Always and forever…"

Maya shot up in bed and let out a scream at Tyrion and Jaime. She backed away from them, a look of terror on her face as she pressed her back against the headboard.

"Who, no, what the fuck are you two doing in my chambers?!" she snapped at them, breathing heavily.

Jaime felt this happiness course through his body as he looked at Maya who seemed fine to him, but there was this look in his eyes that made him think that she truly did hate him and wanted nothing to do with him.

"Maya-" Jaime started, but she interrupted him immediately.

"Who are you?" Maya questioned in irritation and with a slight hint of fear in her voice.

Are you fucking kidding me, Tyrion thought as he stared at Maya in worry. The Gods must be a cruel crowd then.

THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEWS, FOLLOWS, AND FAVORITES! I am sorry for leaving on a cliffhanger and yeah, shame on me, but I am working on the other chapter and I am excited now. YAY! But poor Maya and Jaime right. SO many things happened in this chapter. Maya and Jaime technically broke up and both broke each others' hearts in process, but Jaime only said those things because he wanted to protect her from his evil sister and the mountain.

What is up with Oberyn, right? What has he planned? I like his character so much that I just like writing his snarky comebacks to Jaime and everyone else. When I was writing that scene, I realized that Maya and Oberyn are so much alike in characters and the events that they went through. They are both very deadly and have lost significant people in their lives by the Lannisters so they both know what it feels like to lose someone so close to them in such a horrible way.

Tyrion is not taking Jaime's shit right now because it's Jaime and Cersei and Tyrion has been through a lot of shit with his sister before Jaime came back so he didn't want Jaime to be like the person he was back then which was selfish and sometimes unsympathetic.

I am not sorry for Maya losing her memory because you will see why this needed to happen and then you will probably still hate me for doing that, but it's what keeps you guessing that makes you all keep reading this story and giving such terrific feedback. Maya's memory is at the point at the beginning of the story where she's getting ready for King Robert's arrival so all the things that happened between that time and then now is gone and she can't remember any of it. So chapters 2-26 never happened in Maya's mind.

So now the old Maya is back…she is going to be so much fun to write actually. People are walking on eggshells around her is all I'm going to reveal as to their reactions. I hoped you liked this chapter.
