Episode 24: Messaged Received
Jack was in mid-flight, heading towards the Barn. He pulls up a small screen on his dashboard and looks on the live footage of the Barn. He saw Steven rushing out with the diamond-shaped object and Peridot is no where to be seen. "Grr...those Monks and Gems are going to poof her before I can get there. I need to free her to cause a distraction. I need a bit of extra time." Jack said to himself. He then looks at the Barn. He saw a hole on top that he could send his Spybot through. "Excellent, Get Peridot out and hopefully she has something up her sleeve to escape with while making a big scene, allowing me time to rescue her." Jack said. "Chop, get into the barn, now!" "Roger." Chop said as it flies into the barn. Chop then discover Peridot stuck in the truck, trying to get out.
"Peridot's stuck! I need to get there sooner!" Jack said. He then began to press some button and began to communicate with Peridot via Chop. "Peridot, you okay in there?" Jack said through an intercom within Chop. Peridot looks and sees Chop as it dissipates it's invisibility power. "Wait...Jack?! How did you-?" Peridot said before Jack interrupted. "I build a radar that discovered that the Gems and Monks were up to something and that thing was the cluster, thanks to my Spybot." Jack explained. "Look, I'm in a bit of pickle. You need to get here as soon as you can." Peridot said in a bit of panic. She slams her fist on the car horn, making a loud blare. "Look, I'm flying as fast I can and it'll be about no more than 5 to 10 minutes. You need to distract them as much as you can before I can arrive." Jack said. Peridot thinks a bit and realized something.
"My giant robot! I can use that and get the diamond communicator back." Peridot said. "Was that the diamond shaped object you had?" Jack said. "Yea, but Steven managed to snatched it away and must be telling the Gems and Monks by now. Time is short for me. I need to get out this thing." Peridot said. "Well, it's a truck, so I think you might be able to escape through the window." Jack said. "HOW?! It's impossible for me to go though it." Peridot said. The Spybot flies over to the truck's window and cuts the glass off precisely, grabbing the glass so it doesn't shatter and make a noise. "That's how, Peridot." Jack said. "Alright then." Peridot said as she climbs out of the truck and climbed into her giant robot. "Alright, get the communicator and cause a big distraction that should allow me to make it there in time." Jack said. "You got it, Jack." Peridot said as she began to activate the machine.
Meanwhile, the Monks and Gems were told about the Communicator and shown about it. Needless to say, they were pretty much done with Peridot and her shenanigans. "After all that, after telling us about the cluster that no doubt destroy the world, she had to go and backstab us." Raimundo bemoans. "That little two faced rodent." Clay said with a shake of the fist. "Well, we did get the coordinates to the Cluster right?" Kimiko said. "Affirmative, Peridot's pretty much fulfilled her part, even though she backstabbed us." Garnet said with a neutral tone. Steven was demoralized from the whole thing. He put his trust into Peridot and it backfired. "Man, I really was hoping that I could have changed her mind and it blew up in my face. Stupid, Stupid." Steven bemoans. Raimundo walks over to Steven. "Look, Steven, sometimes things don't go your way." Raimundo said. "I mean, look what happened to me and Mala Mala Jong. I did save you guys but at the cost of being a Xiaolin Apprentice for a good while. I had to take a step back, take a break and come back better." "That is true." Steven said. "Besides, you did managed to get that thing away from her before she could do anything that is most damage worthy." Omi added. Steven softly smiles and nods.
Just then a big explosion happened to one side of the Barn. Peridot managed to escape with her giant robot. "How did she get out of there?" Raimundo said. Just then, the truck's driver side door lands near them, causing them to lose the communicator and Peridot picks it up with her machine. "And now, for me to get out of here." Peridot said as her robot began to run as fast as it could. "Dojo, ready to get big?" Amethyst said as her gemstone glows. "What are you suggesting, Amethyst?" Dojo said with a bit of a smirk. Amethyst shapeshift into a functional helicopter. "Only room for 3, so get in." Amethyst said to Pearl, Garnet and Steven. They get in as Dojo grows to his dragon size and the Monks hop on. Both Dojo and Amethyst began to fly. The Spybot captured the whole thing.
Peridot was trying to get the Communicator working and it was not going so well. She tried it with the robot's claw, nothing. She tried it with her hands, but with little success. Peridot did her part, but Jack is still not showing up. "Where is he? He should be here by now!" Peridot said, starting to lose a bit of her composure. Just then, Amethyst and Dojo arrive with the Monks and Gems on board. "How is it going, Perisnot?" Amethyst quips. "Good one, Amethyst." Steven retorts. The Gems summon their weapons while the Monks pull out their wus. "You got nowhere to hide Peridot." Garnet said. "Jack isn't going to come and rescue you this time." "WRONG!" A voice echos out. Just then, two rockets fires towards Amethyst and Dojo. They managed to avoid it but a jet flew by and picked up Peridot. It was Jack and his ship that did that.
"Shoot. Spicer is on to us." Raimundo said. "We need to take his ship down and we need to make sure he doesn't get away." Garnet said. Amethyst and Dojo pick up the pace and kept trailing Jack and his jet. "Just in time, Jack." Peridot said over the communicator. "Give me the info, what are they planning with the Cluster?" Jack said. "You still wanting to extract the Cluster for Homeworld, I assume?" Peridot said. "Correct." Jack answers. "okay, they build a drill to make sure that the Cluster doesn't form at all." Peridot said. "And if I recall correctly, they have the Sphere of Yun, which is important to make sure we can extract the Cluster without much issue." Jack added. Just then, the jet got hit by Garnet's gauntlets. "Shoot, they're firing at us!" Peridot said. "Don't worry, I managed to reinforced the Jet. It'll take a lot of damage before it would start having issues." Jack said. "Just get the communicator working, Peridot." "Affirmative." Peridot said as she works on the communicator.
A chase scene ensues. Amethyst and Dojo was avoiding retaliation fires from Jack while Garnet and Kimiko launches attacks on to Jack's jet. It was absorbing damages like a sponge. "Man, Jack must have really reinforced that thing." Amethyst retorts. "Yea, it looks like he thought ahead." Dojo added. Just then, 2 more rockets fired and while Amethyst dodge it, Dojo got hit directly and crash lands on the ground with the Monks in tow. Just as that happened, Peridot finally successfully activates the Communicator. "Jack! Land the ship, I might have got a hold of Yellow Diamond!" Peridot said. "Excellent, will do so immediately." Jack said. He changes the trajectory of his ship and lands on the ground. Amethyst lands as well and quickly hides behind a bush with the Monks and Gems. Dojo slowly slithers with a dizzying look on his face. "Note to self…Don't take a rocket to the face. It will hurt badly." Dojo said as he passes out.
Jack gets out of the cockpit and walks over to Peridot who was getting really giddy. "Soon, you'll meet the most reasonable diamond, rational, and effective diamond ever to exist, Jack." Peridot said. "Alright then. Just tell me what to say and introduce me as best you can." Jack said. Peridot nods as the Communicator turns yellow and opens up a screen. "This is the Yellow Diamond control room" A yellow Pearl said. "Woah, Another Pearl?" Raimundo said quietly. "Who is she?" Steven asked. Pearl scoffs a bit. "Not all Pearls know each other Steven." Pearl said. "Who authorized this call?" Yellow Pearl stated. "Pearl." A voice said. "Ah, yes, my Diamond?" Yellow Pearl said. "Who is on the diamond communicator?" the voice said. "I don't know, I was just about to tell them that-" Yellow Pearl said. "I'll take it from here." the voice said.
The screen goes up and shows Yellow Diamond for the first time. The Gems and Monks softly gasp in shock. "Wait, is that?" Raimundo said. "Yellow-" Pearl said. "Diamond!" Garnet added. "My Diamond! Peridot reporting in." Peridot said. "Which Peridot?" Yellow Diamond said while writing something on her control panel. "Uh, Facet 2F5L Cut 5XG." Peridot said. "Sorry for us to contact you this way but all other ways to communicate is either out of commission or destroyed." Peridot said as Yellow Diamond puts up her palm up. "First things first…who is that human?" Yellow Diamond said. Jack clears his throat. "The name is Jack Spicer." Jack introduced himself. "Ah, yes, I did hear a bit about you when Peridot did a bit of reconning on Earth. I see it's still full of organic life, isn't it?" Yellow Diamond said. "That is indeed correct." Jack stated. Yellow Diamonds looks at her notes and realized something. "Where is the Jasper I assigned to you and why aren't you contacting on the ship?" Yellow Diamond asked.
This made Peridot look around and saw a worried Steven. Jack steps up and gets ready to say something. "It was destroyed by t-" Jack started to say. "No one, it crashed landed on accident." Peridot said, interrupting Jack. Jack was perplexed by it. Yellow was not amused. "I will inform your manager of your incompetence…and how is the Cluster?" Yellow Diamond asked. "The Cluster…will emerge shortly." Peridot said, a bit reluctantly. "Good, we might finally get some usage out of that miserable planet. Appreciate the report, Peridot. There will be a ship to pick you up for your next assignment." Yellow Diamond said. "Wait!" Peridot said. "We didn't want to waste your time for a report." "You already have." Yellow Diamond responded. "Actually, she's right." Jack said. "we were trying to get a hold of you so we could offer you a deal." "A deal? What are you suggesting, human?" Yellow Diamond said. "uh, name's Jack Spicer, not human. Anyway, I was going to propose you a deal, we extract the cluster out of earth in exchange for me to rule the Earth in an alliance with you. That way you don't have to worry about the earth any more." Jack said. "Plus, the other option I was thinking off… is to terminate the cluster project." Peridot added. Jack was surprised on what he heard but at least his idea might be better than Peridot.
"First off, No deal, human, and second, why, Peridot?" Yellow Diamond said. Jack was taken aback from this. No deal? Why?! "The organic ecosystem could provide uniqueness to the world. There's more potential than you can realize. Resources could be useful for homew-" Peridot explained before Jack interrupted. "What do you mean, No deal?!" Jack said. "Look, it's a win-win, you get the cluster and I get to rule the Earth. What's wrong with that?" "I want my Cluster and I want the planet to die! Just make it happen! I don't care about potential or resourcefulness." Yellow Diamond said. "…NO!" Both Jack and Peridot said. "Are you questioning my authority?" Yellow Diamond said."No, we are questioning your objectivity! My Diamond." Peridot said. Yellow Diamond than stands up. "You two are getting out of line, you have disrespected this channel with both of your presence and you two have failed at every stage of the mission." Yellow Diamond exclaimed. "Your only mission now is to leave the Earth, with that human on it as well, let the Cluster grow, tear that miserable planet apart, and wipe it off the star maps! IS THAT CLEAR!?" "We won't do it!" Peridot said. "There is more certainty that are more worth while on earth, especially Jack Spicer." Jack smirks a bit while Steven smiles in the background. "What makes you know about the earth?!" Yellow Diamond said. "APPARENTLY MORE THAN YOU, YOU…CLOD!" Peridot shouts. Yellow Diamond glares in anger. The Monks and Gems were stunned and surprised to see this. Jack's jaw was on the floor. "Uhh…Peridot out!" Peridot said as she cuts the transmission.
The Gems and Monks slowly get out the bush and towards Peridot and Jack. Jack senses them and pulls out his sword. "OH NO! Not this time, you losers!" Jack said. "We come in peace, Jack." Steven said with a big smile. Jack glares. He then sheaths his sword back. "Alright, no funny business." Jack said. "I can't believe I just did that…" Peridot said. "We were so wrong about you being wrong about you." Steven said. "I can't believe I just did that!…" Peridot said. "You okay, Peridot?" Jack asked walking over to Peridot. Peridot sighs and hands Jack the Communicator. "can you take care of this?" Peridot said. "Why?" Jack asked. "Because it can be remotely detonated." Peridot added. Just then it glows red. Jack remained cool under pressure as he quickly summons his spybot. "Wait, that's how you knew?" Kimiko said. "You had to go back to that well." Raimundo quips. "I'll explain later." Jack said as he hands the red communicator to Chop the spybot. "You did your sevice well, now onward to robot heaven." Jack said. Chop nods and flies away from all of them. A few moments later, a big explosion happens, destroying Chop.
"I thought I could reason with her." Peridot bemoans as she curls up on the ground. "Well, You and me both, Peri." Jack said. "Yea, you two made her mad." Amethyst said. "plus you insulted her in her face." Pearl said. "You know what that means." Steven said. "What is it?" Jack said. "I'm a traitor to my home world." Peridot said. "No, you are a Crystal Gem now!" Steven said with a hug to Peridot "Yep, whatever you like it or not." Raimundo quips. Jack was surprised from this and a star iris focus on his face. "Sometimes, I don't get you guys." Jack said. The star iris soon closes after that quote. Peridot is now a traitor to homeworld and is pretty much, unofficially, a Crystal Gem. For Jack, this is perplexing and could play a part in his future with the Heylin. The question now becomes…How would Chase react to this?
