~A FEW HOURS EARLIER~
Something wet was placed on her forehead, Maya opened her eyes to her husband's face. She quickly sat up in the tent, asking worriedly, "Jaime?! The baby!"
"He's fine," Jaime promised, holding her face in his large hands. "Cersei won't stop until our son is dead…she's getting closer."
"So what do we do?"
"We have to pretend," Jaime whispered.
"Why?"
"I freed Tyrion and he killed our father in the midst of his escape…Cersei will think that you helped. So we have to make her believe that our marriage is now shattered without a child to hold it together."
~PRESENT~
She whirled around when she heard a crack behind her. She furiously wiped away the tears and snapped, "What do you want?"
Jaime Lannister's eyes softened, but his face hardened. "We need to go if we are to make it back to Casterly Rock before they can capture us."
"No, I will not go."
"It's safe there."
She scoffed. "Safe?! That is hardly the word I would use to describe it."
"It may not be ideal for you, but it's good enough for me. What I am doing is treason."
"Yes, I can imagine the pain you must be feeling for having to protect a Stark," she snapped sarcastically.
He came forward and she took a step back saying, "Don't you dare come near me."
He ignored her and she turned to run, but he wrapped his arms around her waist as she shouted, "No! Let me go! I hate you!"
He turned her around in his arms and held her by the upper arms. He showed no emotion as she hit his chest with her tiny fists screaming hysterically, "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! Why did you have to…WHY?!"
She stopped struggling as he said softly, "Because I love you. I can no longer hide nor push away my feelings for you any longer. You may have the strength to, but I do not."
"You think it's that easy for me to push away my feelings for you!? It hurts me every single time because I love you and I cannot bare the thought of not being with you!"
"Yes, I do think that it's that easy for you."
"You make me so angry. I do not know why the Gods have condemned my heart to love a man like you."
"And I do not know why the Gods have made me love such an irritating and complex woman." He shot back with just as much anger and yet confusion in his voice.
He suddenly crashed his lips onto hers passionately; they consumed her soft pink lips as his hands held her tighter to his chest.
A man hidden behind the trees, watched the lion and the wolf closely...covered in onyx colored robes as he mounted his horse. He rode away quickly back to King's Landing to report to the queen.
Jaime and Maya pulled away from each other, breathing heavily. "Is he gone?"
Jaime casually searched for the man and saw him ride away from their spot before he replied, "Yes, he went back."
"I'm sorry for all those things that I said...none of them are true."
"Every lie has a truth in them," Jaime admitted softly with a sad smile. "I was that man once, wasn't I...I'm sorry for the pain I cause you over the last two years, you shouldn't have that on your shoulders, Maya. No man should."
Maya grabbed his golden hand and kissed the fingers, feeling the cool steel on her lips. "It...everything happens for a reason just like you losing your hand has made you into the man that I hope you're proud of like I am. You've changed into someone better...you've always been a true knight, but I just think that some things got in the way that is all."
"You're probably the only one who seems to see both the worst and best in me yet still claim to love me."
"That's what love is, Jaime. It's seeing best in someone at their worst times and yet still loving them no matter what. That's love, strong love that is."
Jaime laughed and kissed her passionately on the lips. "Come. We must ride to our new home before they rise against us in there since my father is now dead."
Maya nodded and they held hands as they walked back to the carriage, her hand protectively over her seemingly large stomach.
As we are the Sun and Moon and you are the moons down now six more long ones to go, Little Star.

THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEWS, FOLLOWS, AND FAVORITE!
Guest: Now Oberyn and Maya's first meeting wasn't actually written in my story because it really wasn't supposed to happen, but then when I wrote scene when Jaime went back to Cersei and he told Maya, it made sense for her to have an affair with Oberyn since he was there for her and basically comforted her when she was at a point in her life when she regretted everything that she did with/for Jaime. I didn't add it in there also because Jaime had to find out that he was a horrible person for driving Maya into the arms of another man and basically blaming himself for everything that had happened. I am going to write that first meeting scene later on of course so don't worry. Thank you for the review!
I hoped you liked this chapter.
