~Pentos~
Tyrion looks up into the sky as Varys read, "The wolf and lion have welcomed a heir to their empire. His name Leonardo...the Lion of Lannister, Westeros has already struck fear into the people's hearts."
"My, my, they have been busy," Tyrion mused before taking a sip of his wine.
"The whispers in my little ears are of frightened ones as they gaze up into the sky, seeing the bleeding star soaring across," Varys noted. "The second one, might I add? The first was for the Dragon Queen, and now it is for the Lion of Lannister."
"What are they saying? About Leonardo?"
"Fear," Varys answered. "That is all they say. Though some are worshippers."
"They worship him?"
"Oh, yes. Do you know the ancient prophecy of the Prince that was Promised?"
"Not enough to believe it."
"It was first whispered among Old Valyria and the Red priests of R'hllor. A prophesied leader or saviour will deliver the world from darkness. A bleeding star will appear to the coming of the prince. He is said to a song of ice and fire, did you know? This has been prophesied for five thousand years, every generation has been waiting for this day, but it seemed to not be coming anytime soon back then. Though many did try to see who exactly was this great hero, but none passed the tests they heard of. Some even think that Azor Ahai and the prince that was promised are the same person. Leonardo Lannister will not have a normal life, he will be watched and tested his entire life."
"So most people believe him to be the prince that was promised?"
"A song of ice and fire," Varys added. "One part of a lion born on the hottest day of Summer. One part of a wolf who was born on the coldest day of Winter."
"People are basically saying that Jaime and Maya were destined to be together so that they may grace the world with the reincarnation of Azor Ahai," Tyrion replied cynically.
"Once the long summer is over, stars start to bleed, and the cold breath of darkness consumes the entire world. A warrior shall rise and draw a sword from the fires. Lightbringer, the warrior shall name it, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who holds it shall be Azor Ahai. The darkness will flee from the sight of him," Varys quoted. "I don't think much of religion...until I saw a second bleeding star and a prince was born underneath it."
"Leonardo isn't a prince."
Varys raised an eyebrow. "Isn't he?"
Tyrion eyed Varys skeptically. "What do you know?"
"A little bird told me that Maya Stark may not be a Stark at all, but born to Rhaegar Targaryen."
"Impossible. Only rumors considering she is the twin of Robb Stark."
"But what if Ned Stark was able to fool us all? Robb Stark and Jon Snow were almost born at the same time."
"Catelyn Stark would never agree to that lie."
"Perhaps, but maybe he never told her."
"Well, he's dead. They're all dead so now we'll know."
~The Eyrie~
"Lord Jaime Lannister and Lady Maya Lannister have welcomed an heir, Leonardo. The child was born under a bleeding star, the second one to pass. Rumors have ignited around the child that he may not be a lion at all, but a wolf and a dragon."
Littlefinger looked over at Sansa who was looking out of the window and into the clouds. Another Lannister born into this world, I hope he does not take after Joffrey. Knowing Maya, she won't let that happen.
She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "A bleeding star? Another one? That's impossible."
"It is," he replied. "Which is why everyone is suspicious about the child."
"My sister would never be unfaithful to Jaime Lannister. She loves him. Anyone could see it from the way they looked at each other."
"Do you know the signs of the prophecy that told of the prince that was promised?" Littlefinger questioned. Sansa did not answer him for she didn't know. "The birth of a male child, the prince is of the blood of the dragon, born amidst smoke and salt, a bleeding star to be born underneath it, return of dragons, the dark eye falls upon this prince, and is a warrior who wields a sword-a hero to deliver the world from darkness."
Sansa shook her head. "He is just a babe and my nephew. My sister risked her life to save mine. You will not interfere. Discourage these disgusting rumors so that my sister may live in peace."
"Of course, my lady," he replied politely. "But your sister and her son will never be safe so long as she is married to the most hated man in the Seven Kingdoms."
Sansa looked away, knowing what he was saying was in fact true. She kept an angry frown on her pretty pale face as she gazed down into the clouds once more. Her once auburn hair now dyed black flowed in the wind. Sansa let out a heavy sigh as she started to read the book in her lap once again before Littlefinger had interrupted her.
"What are you reading?"
"Does it matter?"
"It might."
"Maya had a diary-a secret diary. I didn't know about it until I found it amongst her things that were left behind in Winterfell. I like reading it...it helps me think that I'm not alone," Sansa replied softly yet there was a hint of firmness held in her voice.
Maya couldn't stop gazing at Leonardo, also known as Leo in short. He was happy most of the time whenever Maya was in the room and the babe saw her in his emerald eyes. She smiled softly as he wiggled his limbs up in air eventually grabbing his chubby feet in his tiny hands. He gave her a wide toothless smile. She stopped smiling as she realized that she wanted Jaime to be here with them, right now and in bed, watching their son.
Maya heard a whimper and saw tears in his eyes as he saw that she wasn't smiling anymore. Maya quickly put a wide smile on her face before tickling his stomach and blowing raspberries on it. His squeals of giggles filled the entire chamber as she couldn't stop spending time with him.
"How is the little lord?" His wet nurse, Martha asked as she came into the room. "He's always happy whenever you're in the room, m'lady."
Maya sat up with Leo in her arms as she nodded. "His father is almost the same way though I am trying to change that actually."
The wet nurse gave her a soft laugh as she took Leo from Maya's arms, going towards a table that was setup to change him. Maya had caused a scene when they wanted to put him in another room all the way across the castle. She didn't care that it was his nursery, she wanted him by her side at all times. It was hard giving Leo up to the wet nurse, she already missed him.
Leo was too valuable to her because he was the last living Stark male, he had a rightful claim to Winter and the North...she knew that people would be coming after him soon. So Maya kept on watchful eye on everyone and anyone who came towards them.
The wet nurse smiled at Maya as she handed Leo back to her once she changed him. Maya inhaled the sweet scent of his hair. She kissed the top of his head before laying him down in her lap once again.
The wet nurse left Maya alone with the babe, but it wasn't long when someone else entered the room.
"What did you find?" Maya asked coldly, rocking the babe back and forth slowly.
A tall man with black wavy hair came into her chambers. There was a crimson red and black tattoo wrapped around his entire muscular arm with sigils of all of houses from Westeros to Essos. His arms were bare to the cold air as he wore only a back vest and breeches with a gold best that held only some of his weapons while the rest were hidden all around his body.
His name was Malakhi.
He gave her his sword and promised to always serve her and Leonardo so long as she would have him. Maya was certainly surprised at his promise and now he pledged his life to not only her, but her son as well.
She was not that stupid though. She barely trusted the mysterious stranger that came to her. Maya also kept a watchful eye on him for he never told her why he was here. She suspected that he heard the rumors of her son being the prince that was promised or Azor Ahai...she didn't believe in fairy tales.
He stood tall and proud like a warrior as he responded, "He plans to match onto Riverrun. He already has Edmure Tully, he's thinking about convincing him to talk to the Blackfish to give up."
"And by convincing you mean-"
"Threaten him and his family. Edmure's wife is with child and she will die if he does not agree. I have no doubt that he won't leave anything to imagination for what he plans to do to them."
Maya nodded with a hint of sadness to her voice as she replied, "I figured."
"Shall I continue to keep an eye on him, my lady?" Malakhi inquired, popping a grape into his mouth.
"Yes," she responded curtly. "Always watch him and I am trusting you to know when it is time to interfere."
"Lord Jaime won't be happy."
"Do I dare question how you would know this?"
He shrugged nonchalantly "Because he is a man and a man does not take lightly to seeing the woman he loves go over his head. Even if he is being an idiot, men will not respect him."
"I thought you pledged your life to us."
"This is taking my vow to you and your son seriously. I know men like him, they are rare to find in this land, but are still there. They love their ego and their women. Sometimes, they love their ego more than they do their own women. I would advise for you to take caution with this man. We may be strangers, but we are more alike than you think."
"You and Jaime or you and I?"
Malakhi smirked and gracefully bowed to her. "My lady."
He walked forward and bowed to Leonardo with smile. "Little prince."
Leonardo returned the smile to Malakhi as he left the room. Maya was met with silence once again as she wrapped the blanket around her son more tightly. She looked down upon him.
"You are not the prince. You are Leonardo Lannister, the Lion of Lannister and that is all. I, Maya Lannister of House Stark am your mother. Jaime Lannister is your father...perhaps you may have brothers and sisters, but I do not hope for them any time soon. I don't want to let you go just yet, my pup."
