Malakhi immediately raised his sword to kill whoever was watching him. He found Brienne of Tarth watching him cautiously.

"What did the Lannister guard ever do to you to end up in the ditch?"

"He insulted me," he responded to her before putting his foot onto the man's body and kicking it inside.

"How so?"

"Well, he said something made me see red. I mean one minute I'm having my supper then the next I have a bloody sword in one hand and my fist practically dripping with this shit's blood."

"I meant what did he say to anger you, ser?" Brienne asked curiously, not trusting the man in front of her.

"I'm no knight, my lady."

"And I am no lady."

Malakhi threw the shovel down onto the floor. "The idiot opened his fat mouth and talked about The Red Wedding. I don't like weddings now."

"Were you present at the event?"

"Event?" He inquired furiously. "Is what you Westerosi call a massacre and especially perceive it to be so loosely?"

"You lost someone, didn't you?"

Malakhi did not answer her as he picked up his shovel and kept on filling up the hole in the ground. Brienne came closer and continued, "I was furious when I heard that Catelyn Stark was dead. The Starks were good people-"

"Fuck the Starks," he sneered lowly. "She's dead because of them."

"Did you love this woman?"

"She was my sister. My older sister. She always saved my ass every single time I came close to death yet when she needed me most...I lost her. The bastard who killed her is still alive and walks around the camp as if he was some sort of god. The Freys and the Lannisters take pride in that most especially. Every time I see one of them, all I can think about is avenging my sister."

Brienne stood up straighter as she questioned, "Robb Stark's wife was your sister, wasn't she?"

Malakhi stopped digging and stood up. "Talisa was the best person I knew. She gave up everything just to save lives. She loved saving lives. She wanted to live in a place where there was no slavery."

"I'm very sorry for your loss," Brienne apologized then sat down on a log as Malakhi came to sit down next to her. "Where do you come from?"

"Volantis. We were nobles. My sister gave that up to save lives, she hated where we lived, not the scenery, but at the way things were. She believed that everyone should be free. My father, Malaquo Maegyr is one of the ruling triarchs of the Free Cities. He was angered at what happened to Talisa. She was a good person, the best there ever was. I had heard that House Frey and House Lannister killed her and the family she married into, I came onto a boat that led to Westeros right away. I was planning to kill them all until I saw that bleeding star in the sky and heard that the eldest Stark had given birth underneath it which could only mean one thing. I'm a spiritual man and I believe that Leonardo is of great importance to our world so I decided to swear my life to protecting him."

"And what of Maya Stark?"

"She is my concern now, but once he is older then I must do everything and anything in my power to protect him. You know what it is like to swear your life to someone, do you not?"

"We are both sworn to Starks."

"They need protection more than ever. There are only three Starks left and a bastard."

After a moment of silence, Brienne spoke, "I swear on my life that I won't tell anyone of your relation to the Robb Stark's wife."

"Thank you, Brienne."

"You don't really believe that Leonardo Lannister is apart of that prophecy?"

"I do," he said immediately and firmly. "I have my theories."

"Like what?"

"I think that Maya is somehow a Targaryen since the prince must have the blood of the dragon."

"That would mean that Eddard Stark would have lied about her birth somehow. I know Catelyn Stark to be an honest woman. She could not have been able to lie all these years. The resemblance in the Stark twins is-"

"Not even relevant. The Starks have never had twins in the family. Then suddenly Robb and Maya are born and everything changes. Besides, Robb has Tully colored eyes. Maya has brown eyes though in a different light they appear to be quiet stormy."

Brienne and Malakhi looked at each other for a moment before Brienne hit him on top of the head. "That absolutely makes so sense. She clearly has brown eyes and she is not a Targaryen. She has Stark blood in her veins. You've seen it and I've seen it many times."

"Never said that she wasn't a Stark, just that she may be a Targaryen."

"Proof is the only way I'll ever believe the words that come out of your mouth."

Malakhi laughed and rubbed his eyes, staring at her. "I don't like my parents especially my father."

"Well, then you've come to the right place then. Hardly anyone here likes their father." Brienne reminded him with a small smile. "I don't like my father, but yet I don't hate him. He wanted a son and instead he got a daughter. All of my siblings died when they were younger. I do wonder what life would've been like if my siblings would have lived...then I remember the things that people have said to me and I know that they would've turned out to be the same way."

Malakhi studied Brienne and boldly said, "I'm glad that they didn't survive."

"Why?"

"Because then I would've never met you, Brienne of Tarth."

Brienne gulped nervously and looked strangely at the handsome man in front of her. "Why do you hate your father?"

"He likes slavery and Talisa and I do not. My sister was the first to defy him then I left soon after, wanting to follow my sister into this world. She said there was some beauty to it...though now that I am here, I can't see what she saw in this place."

"It used to be a good place. Once upon a time."

"From what I've seen and heard, I can't believe that, Brienne."
