Malakhi watched as they stormed into Riverrun, he sneaked inside of the castle to help Brienne in case things turned badly for her. He locked eyes with Brienne and the Blackfish who both stared suspiciously at him.
"Go," he whispered to them harshly. "I'll try to defend them off as long as I can. Maya sent me a letter saying that they were near Winterfell. They're fighting the Boltons still."
Brienne nodded and turned to follow Podrick and the Blackfish, but was stopped as Malakhi put a hand on her arm. There was a look in his eyes as he held her. He seemed to remember himself and stepped away, clearing his throat.
"Be safe," he warned. "Or all of the seven hells will break loose."
Brienne smiled softly. "You know I will."
He grabbed her gloved hand, saying, "I hope we see each other again, Brienne."
"And I as well-"
"You are one of the loveliest creatures I've ever laid eyes on...I just wanted to tell you that in case things took a turn for the worse."
With those last words, Malakhi turned away from Brienne and quickly went to one of the Lannister men immediately striking him down. Brienne watched with awe as he struck down five more men easily, blood splattering on his face.
"Go! I will see you in Winterfell!"
"Winterfell."
Brienne traveled down to the tunnels with the Blackfish and Podrick by her side, hearing the sounds of steel on steel and the shouts of men.
Malakhi huffed angrily as he broke a man's neck. He had already killed ten men in just a matter of minutes, he didn't care though. He had to make sure that they would make it out of here alive. He grunted as he fell to the floor when one Lannister guard had tripped him, then he immediately shoved his sword towards his face. Malakhi's hands shot out, grabbing the steel of the sword, surprising them both.
He held the sword there in between his hands, blood started to slowly spill from between his fingers as he felt the blade slowly started to cut him. His strength was failing him as well and he wondered if this was the end. He hoped not because he had a fucking debt to repay to the Freys specifically Walder Frey and his sons. He wants their heads.
Suddenly a sword went right through the man's chest and Malakhi sighed with relief as he let go of the sword and quickly moved his body to the side barely missing the sword's sharp edge. The Blackfish smirked down at him.
"I guess I can still live up to expectations," he murmured looking down at his bloody. "So, Scorpion, why are you here?"
Malakhi knew what he meant by those words and he stood up, looking into the Blackfish's Tully blue eyes. "The Freys are mine."
In response, he gave him a smile and nodded before returning to the battle for Riverrun. Malakhi shook his head at the old man, watching him for a moment before the smile on his face disappeared as he saw a man struck his sword into the back of the Blackfish. They locked eyes with each other before he fell to the ground. He felt as if he had somehow failed Maya, she told him to protect her family from the Lannisters yet now they are all gone except for Edmure.
He didn't like to fail.
Malakhi watched with an eerie feeling in the back of his mind as he saw the Tully banners being taken down and Lannister and Frey banners were hung down in their place. This moment was when he truly felt failure in himself. Malakhi grabbed the Tully banner before they burned it. He lifted the old man's body onto his shoulder and walked down to the streaming rivers of Riverrun. He planted the man onto the boat and put the Tully banner over his body. He gently pushed the boat away from the docks and lit the arrow before aiming it towards the boat. He watched as it became engulfed with flames that kept on growing higher and higher.
"Fifteen men," Jaime said from behind him.
"And?"
"And they all want your head. So you can see why I'm in a bit of a conflict here?"
Malakhi shrugged. "I don't care. Besides, you won't do anything about it."
Jaime nodded. "You're right. I won't."
"A good man died tonight and I blame nobody but you. Wherever you seem to go, good people die. You're like a plague that will never end...and I pity Maya for that of which she can't help, but love you."
"We don't get to choose who we love," Jaime replied to Malakhi who scoffed in return.
"If you truly love someone then let them go," he answered. "That I think is the greatest sacrifice in the world. If you were to be selfless and give up love just for them."
"We are all selfish whether we will admit it or not...but we are."
Malakhi turned to Jaime and responded, "Remember that then. Do you know why I was called the Scorpion?"
"I had heard that it was because you like using poison to kill a man. Reminded me of Oberyn Martell for a moment."
"They always called me little, said I was too short to do anything. They never suspected that it was ever me except my sister of course. No, she always saw right through me. She always tried to protect me against these nasty group of boys who used to pick on me. Quite cruel they were really. So one day, I showed them all that it doesn't matter the size you are, it's what you make of it yourself is what really counts. So I killed five boys that day. I poisoned them with the venom of a small scorpion's tail, a boy of eight I was then. The smallest scorpions are always the most poisonous and since I was small, it was only fitting that I was given a name that represented a species that showed that size does not matter."
"Interesting," Jaime replied with a small smirk. Tyrion would surely love this man if they ever crossed paths, Jaime thought. He had no doubt that they would become best friends. "Come, we must go to The Twins for the feast I'm afraid then we can return home."
Kill me now, Malakhi thought as he gulped down his cup.
"For House Frey," Walder Frey proclaimed as everyone cheered. "May we stand together through the centuries, good friends to the last! And when we drive our swords through our enemies' hearts, may we speak the words of our alliance, 'The Freys and the Lannisters send their regards'"
Malakhi's hand tightened around the cup, he could've sworn that he dented that thing since when he pulled his hand away he saw a slight imprint of his thumb in the metal.
When they've all raised their cups and then drink, Malakhi notices a servant girl who comes over to serve them. When she reached over to pour him some wine, Malakhi suddenly grabbed her wrist and stopped her from doing so. He looked into her eyes and smiled. He chuckled in amusement and greeted, "Valar morghulis."
For a moment, she did nothing.
"Valar dohaeris."
The servant quickly left them, giving a flirty smile to Jaime who did nothing, but stared down into his goblet of wine. Bronn raised an eyebrow at the man sitting next to him.
"You know her?"
He nodded. "She's a friend from my home back in Essos."
"Really? What's she doing all the way out here?"
"Who knows…"
"Maybe she likes you."
"I only have eyes for one woman."
Bronn eyed the man. "I was right. I told Podrick that you'd want to fuck her."
"I like strong women like her. It's refreshing actually from the noble ladies who are too shy to do anything. I don't like timid girls or girls who are too ashamed of sex or something," Malakhi admitted with a small smile.
"Is there something wrong with your head?" Bronn taunted, he noticed a couple of women eyeing Jaime and Malakhi who were both oblivious to them. For fuck's sake! "You two don't even have to do anything, do you? You just sit there and they all come flocking to you immediately. You're both handsome and rich."
"You're welcome to them," Jaime told him.
"She doesn't want me," Bronn answered. "She wants your golden fingers up her twat."
Malakhi laughed which caught their attention. "Don't they all? They're all just jealous that they can't have Lord Jaime Lannister of Casterly Rock because he's already got a wife he loves. Hopefully."
"I do love her," Jaime reminded him. "The only woman I want to shove my golden fingers up in Maya's twat. It's only been her. It will always be her even when she doesn't want him or throws something at me because I've done something wrong."
"That's love right there," Bronn said. "I like a woman with a temper."
"Oh, and why's that?"
"Two things," Bronn told them as he raised two fingers. "One, they fuck you like an animal. Second, it means that they care."
"Those two have their eyes on you," Jaime replied, gesturing to the girls over his shoulders.
Bronn rolled his eyes, sighing. "They have their eyes on you cunts."
Malakhi laughed again and asked the women, "Ladies, have you met Ser Bronn of the Blackwater?"
"Yes, hero of the Battle at Blackwater Bay," Jaime added in with a smirk. "There you go."
Bronn looked between them. "Maybe I'm not in the mood."
"Yes, and maybe Tyrion never likes to drink," Malakhi countered.
For a moment, Bronn looked away from them and tried to resist, but with one look from each of the women, he murmured, "Fuck it."
Malakhi turned his attention to the servant girl once again before telling Jaime, "Try to keep your cock in your pants. Your life may actually depend on it."
"See you on the morrow."
Malakhi shook his head. "I'm staying here."
"The servant girl," Jaime started. "I thought Brienne had caught my eye."
"I'm an honorable man. She's from home and I'm now starting to get homesick. I need to know what's everyone been up since I left," Malakhi told him before getting up. "I will see you soon, Jaime."
Just as Arya's blade was about to slash the throat of Lothar Frey, someone else had beat her to it. She looked up into the man's eyes who were completely cold and yet full of satisfaction.
"He was mine," the man had told her.
"Why?"
"He killed my sister," the man named Malakhi answered. "Talisa was my sister and Robb was your brother. Black Walder Rivers killed your mother so you will kill him, but Lothar Frey killed my sister and her unborn child so therefore he belongs to me."
"What will you do with him?"
"Make him suffer before I let you have him," Malakhi answered as he watched Lothar's body struggle under his boot which was planted on top of his neck. "What are you going to do?"
"Walder Frey took everyone from me so I plan to do much worse. I want to bake him a pie."
"Clever," he replied with a small smile.
"How did you know that it was me? No one else recognized me," Arya inquired curiously.
"I would've thought Jaime Lannister would have, but he didn't want to look into your eyes as I did. I've seen your eyes in Maya's own eyes. You have her eyes, the eyes of a killer-a tenacious killer."
"The eyes of a wolf," Arya corrected.
Malakhi suddenly started to peel the skin off of Lothar's chest with his knife, carving it out. He tried to scream at Malakhi, but his throat hurt too much to speak. Malakhi smiled down at him as he tore more skin off.
"You killed my sister, she was the light of my life. My only family and you took her away," Malakhi whispered calmly into his face, holding his chin. "I will repay the debt."
"You're quite cruel," Arya noticed.
"No crueler than yourself," Malakhi reminded her. "You're just like me."
"No, I'm not."
"You're going to make Walder Frey suffer then kill him. I would do the same which is what I'm doing right now."
"Where did you grow up?" Arya asked, changing the subject for now.
"Volantis," he answered. "I hate it there. I've seen the things they did to slaves so I will do the same to Lothar right now."
Lothar screams were muffled as he shoved a cloth into his mouth. Malakhi continued to skin him.
"Leave the skin for me," Arya said. "I may need it for the pie."
"What about his brother?"
"I'll use his insides maybe," Arya responded. "I haven't decided yet. I'm not very good at baking."
Malakhi chuckled then started to really go skin deep in Lothar as Arya could see the muscles already. He tore the skin of his entire arm off quickly. Lothar passed out from the pain, but Malakhi didn't seem to mind since he started to carve the skin off his other arm. Arya thought about killing this man, but decided against it after the way he greeted her.
He probably has a death list just as I do, Arya thought.
Malakhi slapped Lothar awake who immediately jolted at the sight of them, screaming his lungs out.
"Well, you're no fun right now," Malakhi said. "How many did you stab my sister? Do you remember Robb Stark's wife? Talisa was her name and I'm her brother."
Lothar's eyes widened for a moment and he shrieked when he watched as Malakhi started to stab him in the stomach over and over and over again until he watched the life leave his eyes. Lothar's torso was completely shredded to pieces and Malakhi had stabbed him to the point where there was actually a hole in the torso of Lothar Frey.
Malakhi threw his knife to the ground carelessly, telling Arya, "He's all yours. I must return to your sister."
"Maya? Where is she? I heard she had a baby that everyone thinks is some monster already."
"She and your family are going to take back Winterfell, they are all in place. You can come if you-"
"No," Arya said. "I have people to kill. The Queen and the Mountain are the only ones left. Don't get in my way."
"I wouldn't dare," Malakhi replied. "I want them dead just as much as you did. They caused all of this and now they must pay. I don't like the Starks especially since your brother is the reason why she is dead."
"He didn't do anything and you know it."
"He loved her and was a complete idiot about it," Malakhi retorted. "Thousands of good people lost their lives and that's why I hate the Starks except Maya and Leonardo...and perhaps even you, Arya Stark."
"You better not tell her where I am. That tall blonde knight already almost blew my cover, now everyone knows I'm alive and well which means that there will be a bounty on my head set by the Queen."
"No, there won't be."
"And how are you so sure?"
"Because the Queen wants Sansa dead more than she does you. She thinks that Sansa had a hand in Joffrey's death. She doesn't think of you, Arya," Malakhi said.
Arya frowned for a moment before smiling widely. "You're right. They don't know what I am capable of."
He nodded. "And they don't know what you can do."
"They don't remember."
"Then make them remember, Arya Stark."
