Jaime sat on top of Maya's fur covered bed with his son in his arms who was too busy trying to stick the necklace around his neck into his mouth. Jaime kept pushing it away and smoothing down his blonde curls which made him giggle loudly. Jaime smiled down at and suddenly saw Maya's eyes in his son, he had her nose too. Everything else belonged to Jaime, he truly did look like a Stark and a Lannister.
He wished to see his wife as well, but he could easily tell that she didn't want him to know where it was that she was going. He more angry at the fact that she left their son here alone. He knew that once he questioned her about it, she would tell him that she left him with family-people that saw trusted. He would say that he didn't trust them because their son was still a Lannister and that he was pretty sure that they hated him because he probably killed someone they knew.
Maybe they were not her enemies, but they will always be his. He may have a truce with Jon Snow, but trusting the boy is still to be decided since his sister already threatened him before leading him to Leonardo. Sansa warned him that if he took Leonardo out of Winterfell that they will show mercy as they will kill all of his men then lock him in the dungeon.
Jaime never responded because he didn't care at this point. It had been a long war and he didn't care to prologue it any further. He just wanted his family back at Casterly Rock. Once Maya returned, he would take them back there to live out the rest of their days. Maya would no doubt protest this idea as always, but he would convince her to because of Leonardo...Jaime wanted more children. He wanted siblings for his son to polar with, but he hoped that his wife wanted the same thing he did.
He smiled and whispered to his son, "If I told your mother that I want more children, she would say no and probably say something along the lines of me not having to push them all out of a tiny hole...and keeping them inside of herself for many moons. Your mother loves to fight me, but it's okay because I like to fight her too. No matter what anyone tells you, I've always done what I thought was best for our family-for you. I love you and your mother with all my heart. You're lucky, you know that, Leonardo? You have all these people willing to throw themselves in front of fires to save you. I'm glad. You need all the protection that you can get now more than ever I'm afraid."
Jaime laid his son gently down onto the bed as he too laid down on the bed, sighing heavily. He smirked as he thought that he finally got to be inside of her bed and chambers. And she said that I would never succeed.
He stared up into the ceiling as he remembered their first dance. Maya had questioned if he even knew how to dance, but he told her that Lannister knew everything then proceeded to show her his dancing skills that his mother taught him before she passed. Yes, he always liked to surprise her. It all because of the look on her face when he would, her eyes would light up with flushed cheeks along with a small smile on her face. He missed her face. He missed her. He had no doubt that for a moment, he would try to keep himself angry at her, but sadly, he would fail once he saw her face.
He hated the fact that he wasn't there yet again when she gave birth. He wanted to be there the third time she did and he would even if he would have to attack every one who would get in his way to do so. He would promise her once she came back that he would never leave her behind next time and would always be by her side. He knew that he must keep to his promises for he knew that either Brienne or Malakhi would skin him alive. Jaime shuddered at the thought then groaned in frustration as he rubbed his eyes with his hands.
He didn't want to leave this room just yet, afraid that this would be his only chance to see his son again before Maya came back and forced them to actually let him see Leonardo. He heard scratching at the door and furrowed his eyebrows as he stood up and opened the door, finding Winter sitting in front of him. He smiled down at her and scratched her behind one of her ears.
"She left you behind you too," he mused and stepped aside. "Come on, girl."
Winter became excited as she left forward and curled her around Leonardo, protecting him. He smiled as he shut the door or tried to at least before Jon's hand shot out and held the door. Jaime glared at him.
"I want to be alone with my family right now, Snow," Jaime told him and not politely.
"You've been in here for a long time."
"Well, who knows when I can return?"
"You can return-"
"You haven't shown me so. I may feel unwelcomed here, but I am not leaving him. Not again. Not ever. I'm staying, Snow."
"He's our nephew. We'll take care of him, you can trust that-"
"I trust no one, but Maya and Brienne of Tarth," Jaime snapped angrily. Winter barked behind him. "And Winter of course. I would trust a wolf than you, Snow. I don't care what your relation is to my son, but he is my son who I have not seen in a long. You got your time with him...so leave us be. This isn't your family-"
"Yes, he is family."
"He's not your son," Jaime said sharply which shut Jon up immediately as he looked into the room and at Leonardo. "I appreciate everything you've done for him, but you and Sansa must not forget that he is not your son. Maya is his mother and I am his father, you both may not like that, but it is the truth. He is ours and once she comes back, we will be going home to live out the rest of our days peacefully. Good day, Snow."
Jon pursed his lips as he turned around and walked away from them. Jaime locked the door behind him and laid in bed beside Winter and his son.
"What?" He inquired as they both looked at him. "Don't look at me that way. He had to know the truth."
"Dada," Leonardo cried out happily, reaching for him.
Jaime whirled his head towards him with a large smile. "Please tell me that that was your first word!"
Jaime brought Leonardo up into air and laughed as he kissed his cheeks. "You are going to be a genius someday like your parents!"
Leonardo giggled as Jaime blew raspberries onto stomach. Jaime brought his son closer to him and Leonardo tried to bite his son again. Jaime took it away from him, smiling. "No biting."
"Dada?"
"Yes, I am your Dada...and I always will be no matter what," Jaime whispered to him before kissing the top of his head. "Never forget."
