The cold felt like home as the snow hit her cheeks when she poked her head out of her carriage. They had arrived at Winterfell and Maya could see the Lannister banners planted near the gates of the castle along with the familiar banner of the direwolf sigil running across a white field. The other banners of the North littered everywhere. Maya could tell that Winterfell became divided once Jaime stepped onto the grounds.
She knew that they were at each other's throats, but she wanted to know why they weren't killing each other and what was stopping them. Maya probably guessed that it was either because of Winter or Jon. She secretly suspected that it was because of Winter and her ghostly looking eyes.
Maya stepped out onto the snowy ground, smiling as she breathed in the familiar scent of her home. She walked towards the castle, all eyes seemed to turn her way as she strode. Her people-the Northerners bowed their heads towards her. Maya smiled at them and her eyes caught sight of Jaime striding down the halls above her, staring at her. He never took his eyes off of her as he made his way to her.
Jaime stopped for a moment when he saw her. Maya thought that he was angry about her quick departure, but then a wide smile appeared on his face before he practically ran towards her as Maya did the same to him.
They seemed to forget the reason why they were mad at each other as Maya jumped into his arms. She let out a soft laugh as he held her close to him. Maya and Jaime crashed their lips together as he lifted her off of the ground.
"You're back," he muttered softly.
"You're here."
They laughed softly as he put her back on her feet, noting, "Who would've thought that I actually would miss you, Rose?"
"Me too, my golden lion."
Jaime kissed her nose and then her neck as he whispered in her ear, "Let's go to our chambers."
Maya playfully nudged him away from her. "People are watching. A Lord and Lady must not act so improperly in front of the common people."
"You sound like my father."
"You must have father issues since you're married to me."
"Never wanted to marry you, remember?"
"That's my line, Lannister."
Jaime pecked her lips and held her hand. "I hope you are ready for a feast tonight, held in your honor of course."
"My honor? Oh dear, I'm afraid that's long gone, even before our wedding."
They walked inside as Maya asked, "Where's my pup?"
"With the wet nurse."
Jaime didn't need to lead Maya to her old chambers as she was leading him. He admitted to her that he kept on getting lost in Winterfell as he could almost never find his way to their chambers. Maya laughed at him and lead him, giving him hints as to where he was going and which specific stones he saw that led to different pathways to every room. The stone with a jagged crescent moon carved into it which meant that this way led to the Great Hall.
Jaime chuckled. "Well, that would've been nice to know when we first met."
"I wanted you to suffer. I didn't like you."
"Just so you know, Maya, we aren't staying here forever," Jaime reminded her calmly, but firmly.
She pulled away from him. "I didn't forget our discussion about our family's living arrangements. You prefer the heat than the cold. I suppose I'm colder than you."
There was a moment of silence between them as they entered their chambers. Maya almost squealed in delight as she ran towards Leo, filling his face with kisses. Once she kissed his rosebud lips and button nose, Jaime stepped in and teased, "Enough. You're going to embarrass him."
"I missed him. Hours felt like days and days felt like months without him."
Maya sat on the bed with him close to her as Jaime sat beside her. Leo curled his tiny hand around one of Jaime's fingers, tugging it.
"He's a strong little thing," Jaime noted. "Just like the rest of us."
"I don't want to live with you in that castle," Maya announced suddenly.
Jaime kept on smiling down at their son before he stood up and went to the window, looking into the distance.
"Have we grown apart, Maya?"
"I still love you, Jaime, but I can't go back. I won't go to that place where I feel like a prisoner. I don't feel safe."
"I don't make you feel safe is what you mean."
"Don't you dare put words in my mouth," Maya warned coldly. "I'm just saying that now is not the time to return to a place where everyone wants your head because of your past with Cersei. She killed your uncle, Loras Tyrell, Mace Tyrell, The High Sparrow and all of his little minions, and she killed the Queen, Margaery Tyrell. Worst of all, your son died because of a broken heart. I know she did not mean it, but Tommen is dead. He was a little boy. I'm frightened, Jaime. Because now she has someone to hurt. As long as she is alive, she will always be after our family...after Leonardo. Forever."
"Where were you these past weeks? Where did you go?" Jaime questioned.
"Did you take Riverrun?" Maya retorted. "Did you?"
"Your uncle's death was not my fault. He died in battle."
"Because he would rather die for his home than die in a cell filled with shit and piss. I would do the same."
"You Northerners are always such martyrs," Jaime snickered.
"What is the point of dying if not for something you believe in?"
Jaime finally looked at her and raised an eyebrow as she continued, walking towards him, "I'll never love someone as much as I have loved you, Jaime. I don't want to fight you. I wish we never fought and always came to some sort of compromise."
"Stubborn arses we both are, remember?"
Maya let out a soft chuckle. "Perhaps. What happened in Riverrun?"
Jaime sighed and then began to tell her about Riverrun and the events that took place. He told her about the Blackfish's unwillingness to cooperate with them. He told her about Brienne's surprise visit and Malakhi's too.
"He protected your uncle fiercely. I don't know where he went after the feast with the Freys. Walder Frey and his sons suddenly died."
"And," she scoffed. "He deserved everything coming to them. If I ever find the man who did the deed then I'll make him a lord."
"The sons that died were Lothar Frey and Black Walder Rivers. Walder Frey was served his sons in a pie before he died. Someone slit his throat. Black Walder was baked into a pie so there is no way of knowing how he was killed. They found some of Lothar Frey's body and it was torn to pieces...ripped apart by someone with a thirst for vengeance. Lothar killed Robb Stark's wife and Black Walder killed your mother...Malakhi is gone. Who is he?"
"Come in," Maya yelled as someone knocked on the door. It was the wet nurse.
"It's feeding time, my lady."
Maya handed him to her and the wet nurse left as quickly as possible. Maya turned to Jaime, telling him, "Don't make assumptions about Malakhi."
"I know he is from Essos and that is where your brother's wife is from. Malakhi has battle skills only someone with noble blood has. He's come back for the Frey's, hasn't he?"
Maya nodded. "He has, but I didn't know he would move so quickly. You of all people should know what it's like to lose your sibling. Hypothetically speaking, imagine what would happen if the people who killed your brother sat right next to you and joked about it every single minute-oh, wait! I do know what that's like since I was surrounded by people who did do that. It can really drive a person mad. He has every right to kill them."
"I think he wasn't alone, Maya," Jaime told her. "Walder Frey had his throat viciously cut, someone said that it reminded them of how your mother died...I know for a fact that you were too far to be there and your siblings were too busy fighting the Boltons. What are you telling me?"
"Nothing."
"You know who killed them,, don't you? Who is it?"
"Why? Why do you want to know?!"
"Because I want to know if I can trust you and if you tell me the truth then I'll know," Jaime confessed. "I've been completely honest with you about everything."
"Not always."
"But I still told you."
"Give me time, Jaime. I gave you time then you must do the same for me. I promise I'll tell you, but let's just not argue tonight. Not tonight. I miss you, Jaime." Maya told him as she put her hands on his cheeks. "I love you. I really missed you, Jaime."
Maya went on her tiptoes and kissed his neck, nibbling on his skin. Her hands slithered up his arms and her own arms wrapped around his neck as she whispered seductively, "Make love to me. Fuck me, Jaime."
Jaime lifted her into his arms as he started to peck light kisses all over her neck and chest. Their hands started to move over each other's clothes, ripping them off. Jaime groaned in pleasure as he felt her hand grab his hard cock. Maya pulled off his tunic and kissed his chest and stomach before pushing him onto the bed. Jaime pulled down her gown, leaving her in her small clothes and corset. Maya breathed heavily as she straddled his thighs, looking down at him.
"I swear," Jaime started, smiling up at her. "I grow older and ugly and you only grow younger and beautiful."
"I was seventeen when you met me so I think I have plenty of time left," Maya reminded him. "You're still handsome to me. Even that long nose of yours, Lannister."
Jaime pulled her down and kissed her passionately. His hand went into her chocolate curls as he pulled the pins out of her hair. She sat up on him as her wild curls fell down her shoulders.
Jaime grabbed his dagger from his belt as Maya muttered, "You still have that thing on you?"
Jaime cut through her corset and tore off of her, ripping the fabric as he kissed between her breasts. Jaime felt her hands take off his belt and untie his breeches quickly, Maya lifted her small clothes off of her body. He kissed her breasts gently before taking off his breeches.
Maya quickly shoved his length inside of her, moaning loudly at the familiar sensation of pleasure that she always felt from him.
"I love how tight you are," Jaime moaned as he fell back into the bed with Maya bouncing on top of him.
"I missed you so much-ah, I missed sex," she whimpered as her hands tightened around his hands when they squeezed her breasts.
"Fuck," he groaned as she leaned down and kissed him again, moving her hips slowly.
Maya gasped as he suddenly flipped them over, Jaime hovered over her for a moment before he thrust inside of her. Her nails ran down his back as her toes curled, Maya had almost forgot how fantastic making love to Jaime actually was.
"About time that this bed was finally christened by us," Jaime teased as he thrust harder into her. Maya let out a short laugh before moaning Jaime's name.
Maya gripped the fur beneath them as her back arched, her breasts pushing into Jaime's chest. The bed shook almost violently with the force of Jaime and Maya's thrusts together. He grabbed the wooden heading of the bed as she moved her hips to meet his thrusts. Maya was reminded of an animal when she looked at Jaime especially from the way he made love to her.
Passionate and wild.
She would think that neither of them would ever forget this moment between them when the world and its worries were completely lost to them.
"I have never hated you more than I do right in this very moment, Jaime Lannister," Maya announced suddenly after hours of lovemaking.
"I thought that you would be somewhat happy with this. It's a feast being held in your honor," Jaime explained to her. "All of the people you actually like will be there."
"Tyrion won't be there."
"He won't," Jaime replied stiffly. "But your brother and sister will be there."
"It still won't matter because I don't want to go," Maya said. "Let's stay in bed all day, Jaime. Leo can lay between us perhaps. Winter will be off in the corner and we'll all be together in this room. The world can't be able to touch us while we're in here."
"We can't stay here for long, Maya...winter is here and we must get back to Casterly Rock and prepare everyone while we can still ride and not catch our deaths."
Maya groaned. "I don't like it when you use the tactic of the lives of innocent people being at stake. Martyr and all here."
Jaime chuckled as he kissed her head. "Come now and get dressed. We only have an honor till it starts."
Maya pulled the fur and sheets up to her chin, shaking her head as Jaime stood up from the bed, pulling on his trousers. He started to tie his laces as Maya kept shaking her head.
"I'm not going." Maya told him as she went under the sheets.
She squealed and jumped when he smacked her behind, lifting her into his arms.
"I'll help you dress, Lady Lannister." Jaime proclaimed playfully as the sheets fell from her body.
Jaime set her down on her feet before pulling on her small clothes. When he went to put on her dress, she ripped it away from him and told him, "I am quite capable of dressing myself, Lannister."
"Alright, have it your way," Jaime responded before dressing himself in front of her.
Maya slipped on her dress as Jaime couldn't help, but watch his lovely wife. She wore a deep blue colored gown with gold embroidery, a gold choker around her slender neck as she put her curls into an elegant bun while two stray curls framed her face.
"Beautiful as always," Jaime noted.
Maya rolled her eyes as she slipped into her shoes. "You're not as charming as you think you are, Lannister."
Jaime laced his coat and Maya ran her finger down the little fainted scar on his cheek left behind from his imprisonment. Maya kissed the scar before linking their arms together.
"I am warning you, Lannister that if I see any kind of nonsense from you that I will end your party."
"Oh, dear," he mocked.
Maya and Jaime walked down to the Great Hall. She let go of his hand as she saw Sansa and Jon waiting for them at the end of the hall with Leo in their arms. Maya bent her head and kissed her son before hugging her family.
"Hello Jon and Sansa."
"Maya, where in the seven hells have you been," Sansa asked. "I know you went on some secret mission, but the least you could've done was send us something. We didn't know if you were alive or dead."
"If I haven't died yet then I never will, Sansa," Maya joked. "And as for my whereabouts, I was simply securing our future. Securing Leo's as well."
They looked suspicious of her for a moment, but quickly hid their expressions when Jaime approached them. Jaime took Leo out from their arms, lifting him up in the air.
"He's getting heavy," Jaime noted, smiling widely.
"And even more handsome than he already is," Maya added in.
Jaime threw him up in the air then caught him. Leo could stop himself from giggling in his father's arms, Maya's heart would always stop every time Leo went up in the air.
"Stop it," she scolded lightly. "He might get sick."
"Yes and he'll vomit all over you," Jon said.
"Jon knows this because Leo did it to him...twice," Sansa added in, holding her laughter.
Jaime immediately stopped and then whispered into his son's ear, "That's my boy."
"What did you say?"
"Nothing," Jaime said defensively to Maya as he started to walk away.
"I see he's back to his old ways," Sansa said. "He's been grumpy since you left."
"I know he has," Maya replied.
"Where were you," Jon asked again.
Maya looked over his shoulder and inquired, "Is that the Lady Lyanna Mormont?"
"Uh, yes, it is," Jon answered. "Maya-"
"I have an important matter to discuss with her." Maya said before leaving them quickly.
Lyanna eyed Maya as she walked up to her, not smiling. "Lady Lannister or it is Lady Stark? I've been hearing it both ways."
"I don't care which way you say it," Maya said honestly.
"So get on with it then? What is it you want?"
"We all want the same thing-"
"Aye, we do," Lyanna agreed. "You want other things as well. You brought a Lannister here."
"I brought the man I love," she said sharply. "His sister tried to kill me and our son. Jaime loves him more than anything in the world."
"I don't trust him."
"I don't really care if you trust him or if any of you trust him," Maya retorted. "Touch one of my men and you die, simple as that. Jaime including."
"I still don't understand how you can love someone like that."
"It still irks me till this day, Lady Mormont."
A shadow of a smile appeared on Lyanna's face before it went away. "Well, what is then?"
"Have you seen a tall man with black hair and tattoos like a direwolf with an X through it?"
"Should I be worried?"
"No, he's a friend to us, but he's gone missing. He might be in your lands, he was seen near the Twins when the death of Walder Frey happened."
"Do you think it was him?"
"Most likely. It is not like him."
"Well, I'll have my men keep an eye out for him. If he's seen, then I'll give him a lordship then return him."
"Thank you, Lady Mormont. His name is Malakhi-"
The doors screeched open as a man came running into the hall, screaming, "DRAGONS! THE DRAGON QUEEN IS HERE!"
The room went silent and Maya slipped out of the hall, Jaime following her as people panicked.
"Where is she?!"
"King's Landing!"
"Will she kill us?!"
"What's happening?!"
Jaime paid them no mind as he followed his wife out of the hall. "Did you know?"
Maya stopped in her tracks as his voice echoed loudly in the hallway. "We all knew she was coming someday. She's a Targaryen, they don't give up. Daenerys Targaryen has very much proved that. We were all too blind to see it."
"She's in King's Landing. She's going to burn all of us with her dragons and you know that!"
"She's going to burn the evil, not the innocent, Jaime. She's not the only one who wants your sister's head...like I said before as long as she is alive, she is a threat. I'm not the only one who sees that now." Maya said coldly.
"She'll kill me and Leo because of what I did to her family and yet you still wonder why I can't trust you. This is exactly why because you have given me no reason to. Secrets are everything between us these days."
"You can trust that I will always have our family's best interest. You can trust in my love for you and Leo. You will be fine, I will make sure of it, Jaime. Besides, the truth is that you saved everyone because her father was going to burn everyone with him. He was mad and that is what you will tell her."
Jaime froze. "She's coming here?"
Maya shrugged. "Not her, but her Hand. The Hand of the Queen."
"And who exactly is the Hand?" Jaime asked carefully.
Maya looked cautiously at him as she answered, "Your brother. Tyrion is the Hand of Daenerys Targaryen now."

She knows Arya is alive from Brienne and she has a feeling that Malakhi killed the Freys now she doesn't suspect that he and Arya are a team now.
Maya doesn't want to go to Casterly Rock because she feels unsafe and that's why she feels that going with Dany will make her feel safe again. Also she's misses her family and just barely got them back finally. She was heartbroken to learn that Rickon died and she doesn't know if Bran is alive.
