Maya crossed her arms over her chest, drowning them all out as she stared into the distance of the sea. She wanted to do something more. She needed to.
They had lost three major allies. The Tyrells, the Greyjoys, and now the Martells. They were running out of time and allies. Everyone was fearful of Cersei, she had the money and the armies to destroy every house. She was their queen.
"I want to go," Maya told them, turning around. "I want to help with the retrieval of the white walker."
"It's too dangerous," Jon protested as they stood around the table with the map of Westeros over it and the various sigil pieces on top. It looked like a game to Maya.
"I've never seen one in person and I need to see the threat. Besides, we all know what I can do with a sword. I'm quite good at it," Maya reminded them.
"My lady, if you are going then I will go with you. My life is yours from this day until my last. That is the promise I made you," Malachi said sternly, his hand over his heart.
"We can't have too many men."
"What if you get swarmed by them?" Maya inquired. "Three men don't stand a chance against an army."
Jon nodded. "You're right, but we're not there to fight. Not yet. We just need to steal one and show Cersei what will happen if she doesn't help us. If we don't put our differences aside."
"Then I'm going. No matter what you tell me, Jon, I'm going. I want to fight. I want to fight for the living which include my family. I want to be with Jaime and see our son grow old and have children. I want that," Maya explained passionately. "So I'm going whether you approve or not. I'll sneak in if I have to."
Jon stared at her in annoyance before he nodded. "Fine. You stay close to me-"
"I don't need you guarding me. I can handle myself actually," Maya retorted then smiled. "Let's go then. We're not getting any younger."
Maya walked out of the room with Tyrion following behind her.
"It is nice to see you again," he began. "How's Jaime?"
"He still hates you. You killed his father, but don't worry, I don't hate you. I think killing Tywin was the best thing you ever did actually."
"I regret it, you know...killing my father," Tyrion told her. "I don't know why especially after all he's done to me. I do."
Maya stopped walking and turned to face him with a cold expression on his face. "Your father killed my brother and my father. I don't regret you killing him. It's what he deserved. Tywin Lannister was not a good man. You are a good man, Tyrion. Your father wouldn't have regretted killing you. He would have smiled at it. Jaime still loves you even after everything. I know you won't let your queen kill him."
Tyrion came closer to her and whispered, "If Jaime proves himself to her then perhaps he won't die. Our queen looks for loyalty in those around her. She wants this world to be a better place just as Jon does. Why won't he bend the knee?"
"I wouldn't bend my knee to her either. I don't know her," Maya insisted. "She must prove to the North she even deserves our loyalty first before we bend the knee. Besides, Sansa won't let him, she will be crossed if he does. My sister is not the girl you used to know."
"How?"
Maya gave him a sad smile. "It's not my story to tell. Sansa is changed...I fear sometimes she's like Cersei."
Tyrion stiffened and adjusted his coat, but nodded all the same. Maya eyed him curiously for a moment before she looked into his eyes.
"You must be careful of her then," Tyrion said with caution, not wanting to insult Maya. "I don't want you to die. I quite like you."
Maya chuckled. "I don't want you to die either. If there is anything you need of me then I will do it. You are my greatest friend, Tyrion Lannister and you're family. I'm proud to call you Leonardo's uncle and my brother."
Tyrion shook his head of the tears welling up in his eyes. "I'm glad Jaime found you. Some of us aren't as lucky."
Maya bent down and put her hand on his cheek, surprising Tyrion. "I think you are the luckiest man in the entire world, Tyrion. Somehow you always get through whatever obstacle gets put in front of you. I'm surprised you've survived this long."
"As am I," Tyrion agreed. "You stay safe out there, Maya Stark."
Maya gave him a nod before she walked away.
As they arrived to Eastwatch, Davos asked, "Why did you refuse to let Malachi come?"
"I need someone to look over my family while if I can't," Maya explained as she tied the dragonglass sword tightly onto her belt. "If I die."
"You're not going to die," Jon told her. "I won't let that happen."
Maya shrugged as they walked through the gates and into the castle. "You're not a seer, you can't see the future."
"Damn him if he could," Tormund said as he led them. "I missed you, Maya. Your white hair looks-"
"Brienne isn't here," Maya interrupted him. He looked back at her in question. "She doesn't protect me. She protects my sister, kiss her ass not mine.
"You look like a crone," Tormund shrugged. "Is that bastard with her? The Scorpion."
"He's with the Dragon Queen."
"There is another queen?!" he growled. "Why are you all here?"
"We need to get a wight to show Cersei what's really coming," Maya said. "We need proof. So we're going over the Wall."
"Isn't it your job to talk him out of stupid fucking ideas like this?" Tormund asked Davos as they sat around the table.
"I've been failing at that job of late."
"How many queens are there now?" Tormund asked. "Are you a queen now, Maya?"
"Do you want me to be a queen?"
Tormund thought about it for a moment. "I don't know. I'm confused."
"There are only two of them." Jon responded.
"And you need to convince the one with the dragons or the one who fucks her brother?" Tormund asked then turned to Maya. "Sorry, fucked her brother who is now you're husband."
Everyone chuckled as Maya glared at him and Jon replied, "Both."
"How many men did you bring?"
"Not enough."
"We were hoping some of your men could help."
"Hmm."
"I'll be staying behind," Davos said. "I'm a liability out there, as you well know."
"You are," Tormund agreed. "You really want to go out there? Again?"
Jon nodded. "We need to do."
"You're not the only ones."
Maya knitted her brows in confusion. "Wait, there are others?"
Tormund nodded. "Yes. I'll show you to them."
They all followed Tormund who led them down to the cells. "My scouts found them a mile south of the Wall. Said they were on their way here."
"You're the Hound," Jon said. "I saw you once at Winterfell."
"Oh, fuck," the Hound murmured when he saw Maya. "Not you again. That one right there is a cunt."
"Watch your mouth," Jorah scolded. "She's a lady."
"Then what the fuck is she doing here?" he growled.
"To help."
"The flames called to you," a man named Thoros said. "No, she called to you. How is Lady Catelyn?"
Maya froze. "You know she is alive?"
"Catelyn Stark is dead," Jon told them all. "She had her throat cut."
"We brought her back," he said. "She's coming for blood."
Maya looked at him in suspicion. "Then why are you here and she isn't?"
"We have different missions now," Thoros told her. "The Lord told us to go over the Wall. I saw you in the flames once. You should look into the flames and think of the Lord of the Light. He will show you."
"I don't believe in any of the gods. What have they done for me?"
"You're almost ready," Thoros said. "Only a little while longer."
"Ready for what?"
"Look into the flames."
Maya glared at him and cursed. "I hate when you all get cryptic on me. Just tell me what I need to know."
Thoros shrugged. "He wants your boy, you know why?"
"He touched him," Jon said. "He has a blue mark on his arm now. He cries in the night."
"He knows where he is," Beric answered. "I imagine he did that on purpose. If he crosses over the Wall then he will come for your son first."
"Because he needs an heir," Thoros added. "Who can bring darkness after he's gone? Your son will."
Maya leaned closer into the bars and warned, "My son is everything good in this world. You stay away from him. He won't be the Night King. Enough about my son. When you all are done measuring your dicks then come find me at the gates. I want to get this over with and return to Winterfell."
Maya walked away from them, preparing herself mentally for what she was about to walk into.
Maya thought that everything beyond the Wall was beautiful. The snow and the sun formed well together. She glanced around the area and smiled through the icy cold weather.
She looked like a wilding, they all did because their clothes wouldn't help them be warm. Maya laughed quietly as they hiked up a snowy hill, sticking her stick into the snow to get a better grip.
If only their family could see them now, the Starks had defended the Wall for thousands of years. Benjen died protecting them from wildings and now here they were.
Life is funny like that, Maya thought.
She was thankful for the winter as it kept her from thinking about the girl who pretended to be her daughter. She looked to Thoros who then looked back at her. Maya had stayed quite ever since they crossed the gate.
"Thoros, is my daughter alive?" Maya asked softly when she walked beside him.
"If I tell you then you won't believe me," he told her.
She shook her head furiously. "I will believe you. What reason could you lie to me for?"
"When this is all over then I'll tell you," Thoros said. "If I tell you now then you won't be focused."
Maya nodded and sighed. "You're right."
"How do you live up here?" Gendry asked, his voice tired and shocked. "How d'you keep your balls from freezing off?"
All of them laughed as Tormund answered, "You've got to keep moving, that's the secret. Walking's good, fighting's better, fucking's best."
"There's not a living woman within a hundred miles from here," Jon reminded him.
Tormund gave a nod behind him. They all looked at Maya who huffed angrily as Thoros chuckled. "Turn the fuck back around unless you want to become a eunuch."
"Is that a no?" Gendry asked.
"I'm married happily to Jaime Lannister. He more than satisfies me."
Gendry's eyes widened as he realized, "The Kingslayer is your husband? You're a Stark? Arya is your sister then."
Maya eyed him curiously. "You know Arya? How?"
"We travelled together. We were going to the Wall, to Jon for the Watch, but we were ambushed by Lannister soldiers. I made them weapons and she served Tywin Lannister, disguised herself as a boy."
Maya smiled at that. "Who are you, Gendry?"
"Robert Baratheon's son."
Maya sighed heavily. "Of course you are. Your father said that I looked a lot like my aunt. He was nice to me."
"Isn't it great?" Beric quipped. "We are all connected to each other. All here for one goal. It's all because of the Lord of the Light."
Maya stares at him for a moment before she stated, "Please shut up."
"Agreed," the Hound said roughly.
As they walked further away from the Wall and into the land, it started to get colder. The winds were harsher and as they howled, it felt as if ice crystals were hitting her cheeks. Maya's hand tightened around the handle of her sword. She surveyed their surroundings, her heart beating in her chest loudly. It pounded in her ears as there was nothing, but silence between them.
Maya stopped when she swore she saw blue eyes in the dark, not far from her. She breathed heavily as she took out her dragonglass. She kept her eyes looking all around her.
"What is it?" Jon asked.
"I thought-"
Maya fell to the floor when something big and white flew at her. She sat up in the snow and squinted to try to get a better look at what had hit her. She gasped when she saw that it was an undead snow bear. Thoros had pushed her aside and was now trying to fight it off.
Suddenly a wight snarled at her and swung its sword at her. Maya brought her sword up quickly and blocked it from hitting her. She kicked its skeleton legs out and watched as it fell to the floor. Maya looked on in horror as it struggled to try to get to her. It wanted to get to her so badly.
Maya stabbed her sword into its head, watching as it went dead again.
She took her sword out and kept swinging it at other wights who came near her. She made her way towards Thoros who was on the ground, yelling in pain as it bit into his shoulder.
Maya gave a cry as she swiftly stabbed the wight snow bear in the head. It immediately went dead again and fell to the floor. They helped Thoros up and tried to help protect the wound. Maya ripped a piece of her clothing and gave it to the Hound who tied it around his shoulder, trying to stop the blood. The Hound cursed and whispered something to himself.
"He won't survive," he said. "The dead cunt took a chunk out of him."
Maya let out hard pants as she asked, "A wight snow bear?!"
Jon nodded. "Aye. Look where it came from. That's where they are."
Maya shook her head and murmured to herself, "Gods, we are all going to die."
Tormund laughed then coughed to try to hide it. "Sorry."
She looked around and saw that they had lost two men already. Beric gave her a sword lit with fire and they both lit up the bodies that were torn apart.
They began to follow the bear's prints as they led deeper and deeper into the snowy mountains.
Jon held up a hand when they heard the clinking of metals. They slowly looked over the top of the hill where they stood and Maya's eyes widened as she saw the Other leading a trail of wights. Some of them were wildings and some were of the Night's Watch.
Their blue eyes were just as Old Nan had said they were. She could see them and only them just from up on the hill. The wights looked as if they were still rotting.
"When someone dies and is brought back then does their skin still rot," Maya asked softly to Jon. "Look at them. It looks like some are having their skin fall off like they're decaying...some look older."
"Who cares about what the dumb cunts look like after?" the Hound growled. "Are we ambushing them or not?"
Maya rolled her eyes and pointed the tip of her sword at him. "When you die, I will dance over your grave. Let's not forget that fire makes you piss your pants, Clegane."
As Beric built a fire to lure the wights to them, they all hid behind a large rock of snow, waiting for them. The wights went immediately to the smoke and stopped as the Other stopped, waiting for his command. His blue eyes searched for any sign of life, but couldn't find them. He looked like a man, an old one. He had long hair that looked as white as the snow and skin like ice. He looked to be made of ice now that Maya thought about it. Maya watched as it sniffed the air and she gave a questioning look to Jon who returned her look.
Could a white walker smell us? Maya asked herself as they continued to wait for it.
Jon gave a nod to them all and they jumped out from their hiding place, slamming their swords into the wights as Jon fought with the Other. Maya swung her dragonglass into a wight who snarled at her and waved its weapon at her. She wondered how they were able to even fight when they were dead.
Maya saw Jorah trying to fight off a wight and went towards him to help, but another wight slammed into her. She put her sword into its mouth when it tried to bite off her face. Maya stared into the blue eyes of the wight and could see nothing inside of them. No sign of life. She saw only death.
Suddenly, the thing exploded to bones on top of her. Maya's face twisted as she wiped off the dead pieces of bone off of her. She saw them try to hold down the wight as it screeched loudly into the sky, echoing. Maya looked around and heard the rumbing behind her. She knitted her brows as she saw what appeared to be an avalanche, but deep down, she knew that it wasn't a normal one.
"So he can control the weather now," Maya grumbled in frustration.
"Run back to Eastwatch," he told Gendry. "You're the fastest. Maya, go."
"What? No, I'm not leaving you, Jon," she protested. "We're in this together."
"I need you to get out of this alive," he pleaded. "GO!"
Maya huffed and took Gendry's arm as they started to run back to Eastwatch.
They looked to each other as they stopped when they heard the screeching and snarling echoing. They both looked back and saw the army of white walkers heading towards the rest of them.
Gendry grabbed her hand and said, "We have to go. Now or they will see us and then we really will die."
Maya nodded in agreement and they ran as fast as they could. Hard pants came out of the both of them as they kept on running and didn't slow down. If either of them fell down then the other would pick them right up and continue to run forth. Maya picked up Gendry as he fell again when the Wall came into their view. She didn't know how long they had been running for, but the night was upon them and they could barely see anything, but snow.
Gendry fell again to the floor, his eyes closed as Maya dragged his body towards the gates. Maya held onto him, urging him to wake up. Maya breathed out a shaky breath as they gates opened and saw Davos running towards her.
"Where is Jon and the others?" He asked them, but neither one of them could speak.
Maya tried to speak, but her voice was gone suddenly.
"We need to send a raven," Gendry whispered, his voice harsh.
Maya's eyes started to close when Davos shook her shoulders hard. "Now don't you sleep yet, my lady. The others are still out there."
Maya nodded and shook her head, her hands suddenly cold now. "Tell Daenerys I will be waiting for her."
Maya took some wine and downed it all as they walked into through the gates.
She waited for hours on top of the Wall and then she heard the roars of the dragons. Maya looked up into the sky and saw all three of her dragons flying about. She saw Daenerys and Drogon fly past them. Maya stood back as the one with dark yellow scales flew down to her and bent his wing to her.
It's not what she had in mind when she told Daenerys to take her.
Maya carefully walked on top and then sat on his back. She quickly placed her hands on the spikes on his back. She felt the breath in her body rush out of her as they soared into the air. Maya laid her head closer to the spine as she tried to breath, but felt as if she were being choked.
Maya looked down below and saw the vast land of mountains and snow that were beyond the Wall. It was truly a beautiful place full of mystery.
She frowned when she saw the large army of white walkers swarming a small rock where she saw Jon and the others fighting off them all off.
"I don't know to say kill the wights," she yelled to Daenerys when they flew by each other.
"Drogon, Viserion." Daenerys smiled and said, "Dracarys."
Maya watched in awe as both of the dragons breathed fire all over the place. She truly saw the destruction of what Daenerys could do if she was provoked.
"Dracarys," Maya said to the dragon whose name was Viserion. She laughed softly as he breathed fire across the Night King's army. Maya's smile fell off of her face as she saw the Night King who waited above them all on top. He simply watched Maya as she flew on Viserion and burned the ground.
Maya's hand tightened around Viserion and she turned him around, desperately wanting to charge down to him and burn him where he stood. She remembered that they needed Cersei and they didn't have enough men to defeat him. It was no time for a war yet.
Maya turned her head just as an ice spear flew at Viserion and hit him directly into the neck. Maya yelled out in fright as she was thrown from his back and started to fall towards the ground. She heard someone call out to her as the other dragons roared fiercely.
Maya felt her body hit something hard and saw that the other dragon had caught her, flying her away from the battle. She saw Daenerys leave Jon on the ground and screamed desperately, "JON, NO!"
Maya let the tears fall from her eyes as she couldn't see her brother anymore and all she saw were the massive army of white walkers. She cried out into the back of the dragon, her shoulders shaking as she realized that she lost her brother. Her teeth chattering from both the cold and the rage filling inside of her. Maya's teeth bit the inside of her cheek as she wanted to turn the dragon back around and kill them all.
She wanted to burn them all to the ground for what they did to Jon. They took her brother. They took her uncle too.
The Night King must die, Maya thought angrily.
She saw Daenerys and the others waiting for her down below. Maya slid off of the dragon who whimpered at her tears. She wiped her eyes of tears before she turned back around with a blank face and said firmly, "Get that thing to the boat. We have to go quickly...who knows how it'll last over the Wall."
"Yes, my lady," Davos responded and bowed as she went past them.
The lone wolf dies, the pack survives, Maya told herself as she went up the steps of the Wall.
Maya sat on her bed in her cold room. They began to lit the fire for her as they didn't want her to freeze to death, but Maya didn't care.
She placed her head in her hands as they sat on her knees. She suddenly thought of her daughter, Hope. She wondered then if it was truly her. What would Maya do if it was her? She would have missed years of her life and life in Westeros was never good for anyone.
"Rhaegal saved you," Daenerys said as she entered her room. "He doesn't usually take to people, but he likes you. We will destroy the Night King and his army. I promise you."
"Jon made a promise and now he can't keep it," Maya said before she started to sob as Daenerys sat by her side, rubbing her back. "He's gone."
"Your daughter isn't," she whispered. "You need to be with her."
"If it's her then how could I?" Maya sobbed. "She's...how can I be her mother?"
"You have to try," Daenerys said. "Jon would have wanted you to."
Maya nodded and Daenerys asked her, "Have you always have white hair?"
"It only started to happen. The maester can't figure out why. Maybe I'm being kissed by ice...or him."
They froze as they heard the horns outside and looked towards each other. Davos came to her room a moment later and said, "It's Jon. He's alive."
Maya and Daenerys both followed Davos as they were led to a room where Jon was being disclothed. Maya stepped forward and placed her hands over his cold cheeks.
"Wake up, Jon," she whispered. "I can't lose you."
Maya kissed his forehead before she turned to the maester. "What do you see?"
"He's in shock is all, my lady. He needs warmth as he was drenched in water and ice when he came."
"Please take care of my brother," she pleaded before she left the room. "Tell me immediately when he awakens."

THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEWS, FOLLOWS, AND FAVORITES! I knew this one was going to be a long one so next chapter is all about Arya, Jaime, Sansa, Hope etc. I promise. I actually wasn't going to add Maya into this battle, but decided that Maya would want to fight because she needs to see the threat and because of what she found out with Hope being alive, she was actually looking for death and wanted to just fight. She hasn't accepted fully that Hope is alive and is still trying to cope.
Chapter 80 is probably gonna be the last chapter in this story which is really weird and that's why I'm gonna be updating more of this story because it's the closest to finishing and will go back to the rest of them. Who knows it may go past chapter 80...I will be aiming for that though.
I hoped you liked this chapter.
REVIEW. FOLLOW. FAVORITE. Until next time...
